2013 AFC PREDICTIONS

When doing each team in the AFC, I noticed there are only 6 teams that can realistically end up with a playoff spot.  Only 6 of the conferences 16 teams were legitimate playoff contenders.  So if there is any way you can Find NFL odds where you can wager where you can wager on which 6 Teams make the Playoffs from the AFC.  Just read below and you will see.

AFC EAST

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (12-4)

BUFFALO BILLS (7-9)

MIAMI DOLPHINS (6-10)

NEW YORK JETS (0-16)

The New England Patriots are once again by far the best team in this division.  The Buffalo Bills will continue to go in the right direction with EJ Manuel.  The Dolphins season will not see the dramatic upgrade they are hoping for due to the lack of a dominant running game.  The Dolphins have weak spots.  If the Jets win any game this season, consider it an upset.

AFC NORTH

PITTSBURGH STEELERS (9-7)

CINCINNATI BENGALS (8-8)

CLEVELAND BROWNS (6-10)

BALTIMORE RAVENS (4-12)

The Steelers are always a contender, even when you think they are over the hill.  Big Ben and that fierce defense is the recipe for a winning season.  The Cincinnati Bengals were hoping for a bigger season, but their tough schedule will make every game a grind.  The Cleveland Browns look like a team that is a few years away from a potential playoff seed.  The Baltimore Ravens are a joke on offense, their defense is not close to good enough to support this unit.

AFC SOUTH

HOUSTON TEXANS (13-3)

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (11-5)

TENNESSEE TITANS (7-9)

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (3-13)

The Houston Texans continue to blowout teams all season long.  Offense/Defense is premiere.  Andrew Luck leads the Colts to an 11 win season and everyone forgets about Peyton Manning.  The Titans take the next step forward in progress, but their lack of a consistent passing game is the thing that will hold them back.  The Jaguars would be ranked #12 in the College Football Nation.

AFC WEST

DENVER BRONCOS (13-3)

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (6-10)

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (5-11)

OAKLAND RAIDERS (5-11)

The Broncos are by far the best team in this division on both sides of the ball.  The Chiefs will be improved this season, but still on the outside looking in.  The Chargers have too many problems on defense and their offensive line.  The Raiders will be better than expected with Terrelle Pryor at QB.

AFC 2013 PLAYOFFS

BYE

1.  DENVER BRONCOS

2.  HOUSTON TEXANS

1st Round

3. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
vs.
6. CINCINNATI BENGALS

Tom Brady at home for a playoff game is not fair.  The Bengals may be improved this season, but Tom Brady is too lethal.  Better luck next season Bengals.  Winner. Patriots

4. PITTSBURGH STEELERS
vs.
5.  INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

Congratulations to the Steelers for proving they can still win Football games.  In the Playoffs against Andrew Luck, the fun and games will end.  Luck will tear apart this good Steelers Pass defense.  Big Ben will not have answers against the Colts Safeties.   Winner. Colts

2nd Round

1. DENVER BRONCOS
vs.
5. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

The NFL could not have asked for a better script as Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning square off in a battle of ‘The Colt Heart.’  While everyone will want Luck to win this game, you cannot go against Peyton in this matchup.  Denver and the Montee Ball show prevail in what will be a shootout.  Winner. Broncos

2. HOUSTON TEXANS
vs.
4. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

The Patriots defense should do it’s part in limit the Texans offense, the Texans have to be concerned on stopping Tom Brady.  Brady has a great matchup against a Texans secondary that does give up big games at times.  Rob Gronkowski will be a nightmare for the Texans.  Winner. Patriots

AFC CHAMPIONSHIP

1. DENVER BRONCOS
vs.
4. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Brady vs. Peyton in the AFC Championship.  Is this a story book 2013 season, looks like it.  This is a game where Brady and that air show will continue to do damage against the Broncos defense.  Peyton Manning will respond and pick apart the Patriots Secondary.  The difference maker will however be Montee Ball.  Winner. Broncos

AFC CHAMPIONS

DENVER BRONCOS

Peyton Manning has too many weapons.  That mixed with the emergence of Montee Ball and that offense could be the best of All-Time.  The  Defense will be amazing once Von Miller and Champ Bailey are both at their peak.  Von will be back around Week 7, Champ should be 100% healthy by then.  He is going to try to play by Week 2.

2013 NFC PREDICTIONS

The NFC is stacked.  The NFC East could go in a lot of directions after Dallas.  The NFC North has talented teams throughout.  The NFC South has a lot of Boom or Bust teams.  The NFC West has a few defenses that will dominate the entire league.

NFC EAST

DALLAS COWBOYS (13-3)

NEW YORK GIANTS (8-8)

WASHINGTON REDSKINS (8-8)

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (5-11)

The NFC East is weak on defense.  Dallas steam rolls the division as no team can contain Romo’s options.  The Giants fall short of the playoffs thanks to their defense not performing consistently.  Washington has a lot riding on RGIII’s knee, too many games could go either way for this team to be a lock into the playoffs.  The Eagles defense is horrible, Michael Vick can only do so much.

NFC NORTH

GREEN BAY PACKERS (11-5)

CHICAGO BEARS (10-6)

DETROIT LIONS (6-10)

MINNESOTA VIKINGS (5-11)

The Packers and that offense should be plenty to get a lot of wins.  The Bears will not skip a beat with no Urlacher.  They still make the playoffs despite losing the future hall-of-famer.  The Lions pass defense keeps them from making the playoffs.  The Vikings do not have a reliable offense if they need points late in games when trailing.  Not a Christian Ponder believer.

NFC SOUTH

ATLANTA FALCONS (10-6)

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (8-8)

CAROLINA PANTHERS (7-9)

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (5-11)

Matt Ryan leads the Falcons through a challenging NFC South.  Lots of bumps of up and downs, but they make it in the end.  Tampa Bay takes the next step with their defense.  Sometimes the team does not show up.  Carolina Panthers can compete in every game, but my prediction is they go on the outside looking in.  The Saints defense still has problems, hard to win with that unit.

NFC WEST

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (13-3)

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (12-4)

ARIZONA CARDINALS (7-9)

ST. LOUIS RAMS (3-13)

The 49ers and Seahawks are easily the two best teams in the NFC.  Both will dominate nearly every team they play.  Arizona has to play the Sehawks/49ers a total of four times.  They would be lucky to win once. Cardinals are improved, but not good enough against those teams.  The Rams cannot exist in the NFL with no #1 WR and a RB who is far from a lock of 900 Yards.

NFC 2013 PLAYOFFS

BYE

1.  SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

2.  DALLAS COWBOYS

1st Round

3. GREEN BAY PACKERS
vs.
6. CHICAGO BEARS

Just what the Bears wanted, to face a team that they face all the time.  The Bears will try to make Brandon Marshall beat them, but Aaron Rodgers is too much in Green Bay for that pass defense.  Winner. Packers

4. ATLANTA FALCONS
vs.
5. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

The one team the Falcons do not want to play is the Seahawks.  The Seahawks can slow down the Matt Ryan pass attack, and Marshawn Lynch can run through that defense.  Winner. Seahawks

2nd Round

1. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
vs.
5. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

This is probably going to be the most intense playoff game we will ever see.  Every hit will leave you feeling pain in your spine just watching the game.  The 49ers are at home, but they do not shutdown Marshawn Lynch who carries his Seahawks into the next Round of the Playoffs.  The return of Percy Harvin is too much for SF.  Winner. Seahawks

2. DALLAS COWBOYS
vs.
3. GREEN BAY PACKERS

Finally, Jerry Jones gets a Home Playoff game in the 2nd Round with his new building.  The Packers come to play spoiler, but Tony Romo lives to the occasion against the weak Packers Secondary.  Romo and Murray tear this team apart, and the Cowboys advance the NFC Championship.  Winner. Dallas

NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

2. DALLAS COWBOYS
vs.
5. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Now Jerry Jones must be dreaming.  He gets to host the NFC Championship against the Seahawks.  The only problem is the Seahawks are a team that can easily destroy Tony Romo and that passing game.  Marshawn Lynch and Percy Harvin are too much for the Cowboys to handle.  The Seahawks advance to the Superbowl.

NFC CHAMPIONS

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

The Seahawks are in the Big Dance.  They were supposed to be their last season, but a heartbreaking loss to the Falcons ended those dreams.  With Percy Harvin returning sooner than Week 10, he will be plenty ready to be a BEAST in the Fantasy Playoffs.  Between Percy, Marshawn, and the Seahawks defense.  They will be tough to beat.

SUPERBOWL XLVII

DENVER BRONCOS vs. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

The Broncos have enough options to make Peyton Manning effective against the Seahawks tough secondary.

The Seahawks should be able to do whatever they want against this Broncos defense that has not faced a Marshawn Lynch type RB in some time.

While everything is going well with Peyton, it is not well enough as his Fantasy Numbers will not be enough to carry his team.  Marshawn racks up over 150 Yards on the Ground, Russell Wilson makes plays with his legs.  Montee Ball has a tough time against the Seahawks Defense that came to play.

2013 NFL CHAMPIONS

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Russell Wilson/Marshawn Lynch/Percy Harvin/Sidney Rice/Golden Tate.  The offense has too many weapons.

Kam Chancellor/Earl Thomas/Brandon Browner/Richard Sherman.  There is not a better secondary in the NFL.  Nothing close.

  1. good stuff right here man. I see percy tweeted about his week 7 return. I drafted him real late in 1 league and somebody just dropped him in my other league. I am gonna grab him if I can.

  2. Hurts my Niner pride but good points Munt. Besides that I hope the playoffs are as exciting as you predict, would be a hell of a year.
My only question is, should Percy Harvin be stashed?

  3. I like the Dallas pick! Romo has flirted with greatness for so long I want to BELIEVE at the Alter of Munt that this is the year it all comes together. Hello Romo, Murray, Bailey, Bryant, Witten, and Austin. Hello Fantasy Football Championship.

P.S. Montee will of course be a key contributor
