FANTASY FOOTBALL:

LOB CITY

(THURSDAY NIGHT LIGHTS WEEK 3)

BEAST DOME NATION.

Are you ready for fireworks? Are you ready for the Thunder Dome experience? You will be getting all that and more in tonight’s Atlanta Falcons playing host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers matchup.  This game marks the return of ‘Teach Me How To’ Douggie Martin*INACTIVE.  Doug on Turf is a show worth watching within itself. The Falcons know this, and they will have to bring everyone close to the box to stop him. After watching the Buc’s go so conservative in Week 2 against the Rams where they completely abandonded the pass once they were in the Redzone. The table is set for Josh McCown to get 1-on-1 matchups with his superstar athletes in Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson. If the Falcons decide to give single coverage to these star WRs, Josh McCown can have one of the biggest nights in his Fantasy Career.  Alley-Oop passes to those big WRs will make you think Tampa has a NBA team.

BEAST DOME CHAT GOING ON ALL GAME.

LOOK LEFT

Regardless of what Tampa Bay does. Matt Ryan and this offense know they are going to beat the Bucs on Thursday Night at home. They beat the Saints in Week 1 in Atlanta, and they are not about to allow a bad coached Lovie Smith Buc’s come into their house on National Television and emabarass them. The Falcons are one of the most exciting offenses in the NFL, and you have to love the matchup as no CB can really stick with Roddy White and Julio Jones. The player I am most excited for in this matchup is Steven Jackson. I’m looking to see Steven Jackson pick up a nice 100+ Yards and a couple of TDs to finally shut all those haters up. SJax is a Monster, and the Fantasy World is about to find out.

  1. Hey Munt, I have Foster, Ball, Dougie, and S.Jax. what three should I start this week? You helped me with the Beasthangout the other day, but the trade you suggested in Colston for Cutler was rejected. RG3 is down and I still need a QB. Do I drop RG3, TQuizz, B.Tate, S.Smith, M.Colston, or my Kicker To add McCown?
    Beast on!

  2. Love the breakdown Munt.

Munt & Nation, do you think Bobby Rainey is a good start as an RB2 or will dougie take too many touches if healthy?

  3. Damnnnnn it Munt,

I was dead set on not starting the injured Roddy White and the RBBC Doug Martin tonight. Now it looks like I have to since you are all in on both of them. I was gonna start Joqie Bell and Edelman instead. Good decision?

  5. I’d definitely start Edelman still. Joique probably won’t produce the same way a healthy dougie will against ATL, but healthy is the key word.

  6. BEASTS!! For some reason my chat window isn’t popping up…either way I have an important ?…Cutler or McCown? Thanks a lot!

    J

  7. Pick up Jerrick McKinnon. Norv plans on using the hot hand. Asiata is a fullback… The job will eventually be McKinnons

  8. Have RGIII, now have to decide between Cousins and McCown in a 12 team league. Your article is pretty convincing for McCown.

Interesting that Cousins dropped off 381 with 3 TD’s and 2 int’s last year @ ATL.

This is a tough call. Help…

  9. Looks like Dougie is out. Your not sitting Foster. I’m trying to figure out SJax or Ball myself in PPR. Need some help Munt!

  10. Munt, I’m with you on principle, but can you give us an update regarding today’s news on Douggie – should we be starting Rainey instead? – and Roddy – you don’t think he could be a decoy even if he suits up?

  11. Mccown is on free agent wire in my league, should I pick him up and play him or play flacco on sunday.

  12. I should mention that I own flacco/pitta and steve smith sr.; so I have those combos there. or should I pick up McCown and play him tonight?

  13. So many are unsure of SJAX. Reminds me of how so many were unsure of Gates. Have fun, that’s what this is all about.

  14. Hey Munt, would you trade le’veon for SJax and Maclin or VJax?

All I have at WR is Desean,Tate and Devanta Adams. At RB I got Foster Trich and Hyde.

    Thanks

  15. Hey Danielle,

I’m starting Niles for sure. I have Witten in a couple of leagues and he has been a huge disappointment so far. He has a spot reserved on my bench until he decides to show up for the 2014-15 NFL season.

  16. Muntradamus: Props on being one of the few experts (maybe only?) to call SJax > Rainey this week. Just curious about some of your advice here though. Why is Rainey must-start, even in a 12 team league, if you rank him as RB28? I’d say that’s still flex start at best depending on your WR situation, even in deeper leagues. Also, why rank SJax RB9 if you’re projecting him for 100+ and multiple TDs? That’s 22+ fantasy points, and 9 out of 10 weeks, that’s good for top 5 among RBs.

  17. You’re right a little aggressive with my word choice. More of an alert edit to Doug Martin as Doug was entrenched as the Must-Start play.

It was more of an edit thing than anything and making sure you can feel comfortable using him. Usually Top 28 RB is startable in 12 Team Leagues, especially when I went up against a Devonta Freeman in my league. BEAST VIPs were in a BEASTcast TV where they could ask me start/sit for him.

Can’t tell you why I ranked SJax at #9 (part of my strategy for ranking) but I love the BEAST potential in him.
