FANTASY FOOTBALL BEAST OR BUST:

WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?

BEAST DOME NATION.

Big Season ahead!

John “Smokey” Brown. A man who does not really deserve a nickname, but he’s got one. “Smokey” definitely has wheels, he’s listed at 5’10, but thats with heels on. Brown is not a big WR at all, he cannot go over the middle for crossing routes. He is a Homerun or nothing type of guy. His journey in the NFL have been backed by QBs like Carson Palmer and Joe Flacco. Two proven veterans who were able to read defenses correctly, and setup those deep bombs.

This season, “Smokey” goes to the wonderful world of Buffalo. Amazing weather, big city. Buffalo is the place you want to spend your winters, if you are Frosty the Snowman. I have family in Rochester, I’m allowed to throw a joke.

Brown not only has to deal with horrible winter conditions nearly all season long, his QB is Josh Allen. Yes Josh put together some big Fantasy Games last year, I think we all remember him beating Minnesota. Despite his big arm and solid Cam Newton like mobility, Allen has one big problem that “Smokey” cannot shake. Josh Allen has the accuracy of a drunk college kid playing darts. I have seen balls on out patterns that ended up in the stands against the Packers last year. Often his throws were so high they would fly out of the shot.

When you combine “Smokey” Speed, and Josh Allen’s poor accuracy, you have a lot of balls that will look like they were never on the same page. It will be very easy to guard this combo all season as “Smokey” does not run routes over the middle, just hold the Free Safety watching the Homerun ball, which will likely be off target even if the opportunity is there. Boom Smokey is shut down.

Smokey is currently the #46 WR on Draft Boards this preseason, which means nobody is really targeting him as anything more than a WR3/4. However you do not want to fall into that trap, let him sit on another teams lap.
