HEADLINES

  • Eric Gordon Out 6 More Weeks.  You can safely drop him.  The Hornets will be eliminated by the time he comes back.  Jarrett Jack and Greivis Vasquez should both be able to co-exist as the back-court duo.  If Montey Williams goes in that direction.
  • Rose/Garnett will miss Tuesday’s game.
  • D.J. Augustin/Brook Lopez, return to practice.

Minnesota Timberwolves 89 @ Orlando Magic 102

MIN:

  • Kevin Love (19 Points, 15 Rebounds, 1 Steal)
  • Nikola Pekovic (16 Points, 13 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 1 Block)
  • Ricky Rubio (11 Points, 8 Assists, 1 Block)
  • Michael Beasley (13 Points, 2/8 3PT, 1 Steal, 2 Rebounds)
  • Derrick Williams (20 Minutes, 5 Points)
  • Martell Webster (24 Minutes, 5 Points, 4 Rebounds)

Kevin Love continues to play like a top pick, while Nikola Pekovic continues to play like Marcin Gortat 2.0.  Luke Ridnour lost his starting job to Martell Webster.  Both players can be on the waiver wire.  Michael Beasley continues to jack up shots keeping his fantasy value worthy.  Derrick Williams is barely worth owning, if at all.

ORL:

  • Dwight Howard (11 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Steal)
  • Jameer Nelson (14 Points, 6 Rebounds, 2 3PTM, 1 Block)
  • Jason Richardson (17 Points, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 2 3PTM)
  • Ryan Anderson (13 Points, 5 Rebounds, 3 3PTM, 2 Steal)
  • Hedo Turkoglu (14 Points, 6 Rebounds, 6 Assists, 2 Steals 2 3PTM)

Dwight Howard had a game that his fantasy owners want to forget about.  I would not worry.  Jameer Nelson put up solid numbers, 2 assists will not help.  Jason Richardson has been on fire and should have been in all active fantasy lineups heading into the week.  Ryan Anderson made up for his poor performance with 3PTM, and steals.  Hedo Turkoglu had a great game and now needs to build off of it to increase his fantasy value.

Philadelphia 76ers 98 @ Charlotte Bobcats 89

PHI:

  • Jrue Holiday (40 Minutes, 19 Points, 1 Assists)
  • Andre Iguodala (3 Points, 3 Steals, 1 Block, 3 Rebounds, 9 Assists)
  • Elton Brand (8 Points, 6 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 18 Minutes)
  • Thaddeus Young (33 Minutes, 20 Points, 6 Rebounds)
  • Louis Williams (23 Points, 2 Steals, 1 Block, 4 Assists, 2 3PTM)
  • Evan Turner (15 Minutes, 4 Points, 4 Rebounds)
  • Spencer Hawes (DNP)

Jrue Holiday looks semi-good, but his assist numbers are terrible as eclipsing 6 in a game does not happen very often.  Andre Iguodala saved his fantasy day with assists.  He does not take enough shot attempts every game.  Thaddeus Young has superstar potential written all over him.  Lou Williams is a machine off the bench, he looks to be past his inconsistency.  Evan Turner should be on the bench for now.

CHA:

  • Kemba Walker (21 Points, 3 3PTM, 5 Assists)
  • Reggie Williams (39 Minutes, 14 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 3PTM)
  • Bismack Biyombo (7 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Block)
  • Boris Diaw (10 Assists, 5 Rebounds, 2 Points)
  • Corey Maggette (32 Minutes, 8/16 FG, 22 Points)
  • Tyrus Thomas (9 Minutes, 0 Points)
  • D.J. Augustin (DNP)

Kemba Walker is expanding his game to another level.  That level may come to an end when D.J. Augustin returns.  It definitely will be an end for Reggie Williams as this was the second closest Jeremy Lin story we had.  Tyrus Thomas is just a bench option for the Bobcats.  Time to either pick him up in FA or buy very low.  Boris Diaw needs another 10 assist game soon so his owners can trade him.  Bismack Biyombo is not bad and should be better as the season continues.  A consistent week will make him must-add material.

Miami Heat 114 @ Milwaukee Bucks 96

MIA:

  • Dwayne Wade (22 Points, 5 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 1 Block, 28 Minutes)
  • Lebron James (35 Points, 8 Rebounds, 1 Steal)
  • Mario Chalmers (13 Points, 2 Steals, 3 3PTM)
  • Chris Bosh (8 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Steal)

Dwayne Wade is usually the one who sits the most in blowouts.  Still put up good numbers for the limited minutes.  Lebron James continues to play like an elite option every night.  Mario Chalmers was decent, but his fantasy owners should not be starting him.  Chris Bosh takes another hit to fantasy value.  He needs to have a big bounce back game.

MIL:

  • Brandon Jennings (12 Points, 4 Assists, 2 Steals, 2 3PTM)
  • Carlos Delfino (24 Points, 2 Steals, 5 3PTM)
  • Drew Gooden (12 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 1 Block)
  • Mike Dunleavy (19 Minutes, 5 Points)
  • Stephen Jackson (16 Minutes, 7 Points)
  • Ersan Illysova (7 Points, 6 Rebounds, 2 Blocks, 25 Minutes)

The Bucks are a mess right now.  Brandon Jennings has been a fantasy nightmare for his owners.  Zero consistency as of late.  Carlos Delfino could be tricking us, and I want to see him have one more big game before I feel he is a safe add.  Drew Gooden was decent, while Mike Dunleavy and Stephen Jackson saw way too little playing time.  Ersan Illysova is quietly becoming the waiver wire pickup of the week.  Watching him closely.

Utah Jazz 80 @ New Orleans Hornets 86

UTA:

  • Al Jefferson (14 Points, 12 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 2 Blocks)
  • Paul Millsap (4 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Steals)
  • Derrick Favors (14 Points, 5 Rebounds, 1 Block, 26 Minutes)
  • Devin Harris (2 Points, 4 Assists, 19 Minutes)
  • Earl Watson (7 Points, 5 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 Block)

Somehow the Jazz lost to the Hornets.  It could be when Devin Harris is on the court the team is -14.  When Earl Watson was on the court the team was +8.  That is going to maybe switch around who gets more minutes.  Derrick Favors outplayed Paul Millsap off the bench. Al Jefferson got another double-double with good steal/block combo.  As long as Al is healthy, Millsap is not as valuable of a fantasy player.

NOH:

  • Greivis Vasquez (12 Points, 10 Assists, 3 Steals)
  • Chris Kaman (27 Points, 13 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 1 Block)
  • Emeka Okafor (DNP-Knee)
  • Trevor Ariza (9 Points, 5 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 2 Steals)
  • Jarrett Jack (DNP-Knee)
  • Gustavo Ayon (13 Points, 9 Rebounds, 3 Blocks, 1 Steal, 35 Minutes)

Greivis Vasquez continues to take advantage of the no Jarrett Jack time.  Chris Kaman showed off what he could have been doing all season if the Hornets started him at center.  Emeka losses a lot of fantasy value after that performance.  Trevor Ariza fills up the stat sheet mediocrely.  Gustavo Ayon is a good hustle guy, but could now lose playing time to Emeka.

Los Angeles Clippers 92 @ Dallas Mavericks 96

LAC:

  • Chris Paul (16 Points, 9 Assists, 2 Steals, 5 Rebounds, 2 3PTM)
  • Blake Griffin (20 Points, 7 Rebounds, 2/9 FT)
  • Caron Butler (23 Points, 8 Rebounds, 5 3PTM, 1 Steal)
  • Randy Foye (0/7 FG)
  • Mo Williams (11 Points, 2 Steals, 3 Assists, 3 3PTM)
  • Kenyon Martin (10 Points, 26 Minutes)
  • DeAndre Jordan (20 Minutes, 9 Rebounds, 2 Blocks, 5 Points)

Blake Griffin missed his first seven free throws in the game.  CP3 needs to have more dominant lines to prove he was worth a top 5 pick.  Caron Butler had 0 Points in the 4th quarter and missed the game winning shot.  Randy Foye did himself no favors as Mo Williams was decent off the bench.  Kenyon Martin played all of the crunch time minutes for DeAndre Jordan.  Lob City misses Chauncey.

DAL:

  • Dirk Nowitzki (22 Points, 7 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 1 3PTM)
  • Jason Terry (9 Points, 1 3PTM)
  • Jason Kidd (3 Points, 4 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 26 Minutes)
  • Shawn Marion (16 Points, 1 Rebound, 2 Steals)
  • Delonte West (25 Minutes, 10 Points, 3 Rebounds, 3 Assists)
  • Vince Carter (25 Minutes, 10 Points, 4 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 1 Block)
  • Lamar Odom (9 Points, 3 Rebounds, 3 Assists)

Dirk Nowitzki has now scored 20+ Points in six straight games.  Shawn Marion continues to get 30+ Minutes but his fantasy value has taken a hit.  Jason Terry was outscored by Delonte West, and Vince Carter.  Never a good thing for his fantasy value.  Lamar Odom is just a fantasy reserve for now, or waiver wire.  Jason Kidd had a bad game, if he can bounce back we will forgive.

Phoenix Suns 96 @ Golden State Warriors 102

PHX:

  • Steve Nash (7 Points, 14 Assists, 2 Steals)
  • Jared Dudley (11 Points, 3 Rebounds, 1 3PTM)
  • Markieff Morris (10 Points, 4 Rebounds, 1 3PTM, 22 Minutes)
  • Channing Frye (18 Points, 5 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 32 Minutes)
  • Marcin Gortat (25 Points, 12 Rebounds, 2 Blocks)
  • Grant Hill (34 Minutes, 10 Points, 5 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 Block)

Steve Nash continues to rack up assists with ease.  Jared Dudley had a rough start, he needs to bounce back.  Markieff Morris was decent off the bench, but clearly remains behind Channing Frye on the depth chart.  Grant Hill plays 30+ Minutes every night, which is amazing for the the old legend.  Marcin Gortat is one of the most solid centers in the fantasy basketball world.  He proved it again tonight.

GSW:

  • Stephen Curry (9 Points, 7 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 3PTM)
  • Monta Ellis (18 Points, 7 Rebounds, 3 Assists)
  • David Lee (28 Points, 12 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 1 Block)
  • Dorrell Wright (5 Points, 3 Rebounds, 24 Minutes)
  • Brandon Rush (29 Minutes, 8 Points, 2 Rebounds, 1 Steal)
  • Ekpe Udoh (9 Points, 3 Blocks, 1 Steal, 4 Rebounds, 22 Minutes)

Stephen Curry had one of those nights.  Monta Ellis is looking for more consistent 20 Point performances.  David Lee has been a fantasy king as of late.  Dorrell Wright struggled and lost a lot of playing time to Brandon Rush last night.  Ekpe Udoh is now on the fantasy radar.  He can help your team in a hurry in blocks.  Let’s see if he gets good minutes for a couple more games.

Tuesday (2/14/12)

HEADLINES

  • LaMarcus Aldridge/Danny Granger sprained their ankles.  Aldridge is expected to miss a game, still no report on Danny.
  • Nene will miss a game at least.
  • Wilson Chandler’s CBA team is struggling as the playoffs begin.
  • Kevin Martin struggles again.
  • Manu is a 15-20 Minute guy for now, according to coach Popovich.

New York Knicks 90 @ Toronto Raptors 87

NYK:

  • Jeremy Lin (27 Points, 11 Assists, 1 Steal, 2 3PTM, 8/22 FG)
  • Amare Stoudemire (21 Points, 9 Rebounds, 9/20 FG)
  • Tyson Chandler (13 Points, 9 Rebounds, 2 Blocks)
  • Landry Fields (8 Points, 7 Rebounds, 7 Assists, 1 3PTM)
  • Iman Shumpert (8 Points, 4 Steals, 3 Assists)
  • Carmelo Anthony (DNP)

Jeremy Lin hit a game winning 3PT shot, and converted on an and-one circus shot the possession before to tie the game.  Jeremy Lin is giving new hope to the NBA world.  Amare came back and was as aggressive as he has been.  His fantasy owners were happy to see the good performance.  Tyson Chandler remains a double-double threat everynight with good block numbers.  Iman Shumpert does what he does best, grabbing four steals.  Landry Fields had a good all-around game, but it will be interesting to see his production when Melo comes back.

TOR:

  • Jose Calderon (25 Points, 9 Assists, 7 Rebounds, 1 Block, 3 Steals, 3 3PTM)
  • DeMar DeRozan (14 Points, 4 Rebounds, 1 Block)
  • Amir Johnson (10 Points, 5 Blocks, 4 Rebounds, 31 Minutes)
  • James Johnson (6 Points, 4 Assists, 2 Steals, 5 Fouls, 17 Minutes)
  • Linas Kleiza (15 Points, 11 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 38 Minutes)
  • Ed Davis (20 Minutes, 4 Points, 2 Blocks)
  • Andrea Bargnani (DNP)
  • Jerryd Bayless (DNP-Ankle)
  • Leandro Barbosa (31 Minutes, 13 Points, 5 Rebounds)

Jose Calderon is taking over with the absence of Jerryd Bayless.  When Bayless returns this Raptor back-court is too stacked.  Especially when you add Leandro Barbosa who played over 30 Minutes tonight.  DeMar DeRozan can shift to SF, but James Johnson and now Linas Kleiza take up that category.  Okay move those two guys to PF, where Amir Johnson and Ed Davis currently are.  Okay move one of those guys to center, where Andrea Bargnani will play.  The Raptors are surprisingly a very deep team.

Miami Heat 105 @ Indiana Pacers 90

MIA:

  • Lebron James (23 Points, 9 Rebounds, 7 Assists, 4 Steals, 2 3PTM)
  • Dwayne Wade (16 Points, 6 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 1 Block, 24 Minutes)
  • Chris Bosh (13 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 28 Minutes)
  • Mario Chalmers (4 Points, 2 Assists, 18 Minutes)
  • Norris Cole (20 Points, 3 Assists, 30 Minutes)

The Heat blew out the Pacers in this one, leaving the starters on the bench for the 4th quarter.  Lebron did a lot of damage in limited time.  Dwayne Wade is the one who losses the most fantasy value in blowouts.  Chris Bosh is starting to fade again.  Mario Chalmers is not a safe enough fantasy start, especially with Norris Cole’s potential behind him.

IND:

  • Danny Granger (3 Points, Ankle Injury)
  • Paul George (12 Points, 3 Steals, 2 Rebounds)
  • Darren Collison (8 Points, 7 Rebounds, 3 Assists)
  • David West (14, 2 Rebounds, 1 Steal)
  • Roy Hibbert (10 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Blocks)
  • Tyler Hansbrough (20 Minutes, 11 Points, 4 Rebounds)
  • George Hill (DNP)

Danny Granger may miss some time after spraining his ankle lightly in the 1st quarter.  David West led the team in scoring despite the poor game.  Paul George got enough steals to hurt the wound.  Darren Collison continues to not be a solid consistent starter.  Roy Hibbert put up an okay game against a team he should of dominated.  Hansbrough remains a bench player.

San Antonio Spurs 99 @ Detroit Pistons 95

SAS:

  • Tony Parker (14 Points, 7 Assists, 3 Rebounds)
  • Tim Duncan (18 Points, 13 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 3 Blocks)
  • Manu Ginobili (25 Minutes, 1 Point, 7 Assists, 2 Rebounds, 1 Block)
  • Dejuan Blair (10 Points, 5 Rebounds, 15 Minutes)
  • Tiago Splitter (13 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Block, 22 Minutes)

Tony Parker is enjoying his last days of being a great trade asset in fantasy leagues.  As soon as Manu Ginobili gets back in shape, and finds confidence in his shot.  Parker will have less touches.  Tim Duncan continues to find the fountain of youth with KG.  Dejuan Blair had a nice game, but Tiago Splitter was once again better.

DET:

  • Rodney Stuckey (23 Points, 8 Assists)
  • Brandon Knight (16 Points, 2 Steals, 4 Assists)
  • Greg Monroe (4 Points, 6 Rebounds, 1 Block)
  • Tayshaun Prince (37 Minutes, 18 Points, 5 Rebounds, 4 Assists)
  • Ben Gordon (10 Points, 3 Rebounds, 20 Minutes, 13FG Attempts)
  • Austin Daye (7 Minutes, 3 Points, 2 Rebounds)

Rodney Stuckey had a big game which led to Ben Gordon seeing the bench.  Brandon Knight is safe for minutes every night eclipsing 35+ again.  Greg Monroe had a tough game against the Spurs bigs.  Tayshaun Prince was solid, and his performance continues to hold back Austin Daye and his potential.

Sacramento Kings 115 @ Chicago Bulls 121

SAC:

  • DeMarcus Cousins (28 Points, 17 Rebounds, 3 Steals, 2 Blocks, 1 3PTM)
  • Tyreke Evans (27 Points, 8 Rebounds, 8 Assists, 1 Block)
  • Marcus Thornton (23 Points, 3 3PTM, 1 Steal, 2 Assists)
  • John Salmons (3 Points, 25 Minutes)
  • Jason Thompson (8 Points, 11 Rebounds, 1 Steal)

DeMarcus Cousins can dominate just about every center in the NBA.  Dominating Joakim Noah will bode well for his confidence all season.  Tyreke Evans put up a monster game with the presence of a good Marcus Thronton game.  His fantasy owners will be looking for a repeat performance in a similar situation.  John Salmons is a worthless fantasy option, while Jason Thompson is best left as a starter for deeper leagues.

CHI:

  • C.J. Watson (10 Points, 2 Assists, 2 3PTM)
  • Carlos Boozer (16 Points, 5 Rebounds)
  • Joakim Noah (22 Points, 11 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 2 Blocks)
  • Luol Deng (23 Points, 11 Rebounds, 7 Assists, 2 3PTM)
  • Kyle Korver (18 Points, 4 3PTM, 20 Minutes)
  • Ronnie Brewer (6 Points, 5 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 28 Minutes)
  • Rip Hamilton (DNP)
  • Derrick Rose (DNP)

No Derrick Rose led to Luol Deng having a monster performance.  This would be expected of the teams other All-Star.  Carlos Boozer was once again sold in the points department.  Joakim Noah is one of the hottest centers in fantasy basketball.  Kyle Korver was great with all the injuries, and soon will have to compete with Ronnie Brewer for minutes off the bench.  C.J. Watson needed to be better in his start.

Houston Rockets 83 @ Memphis Grizzlies 93

HOU:

  • Kyle Lowry (24 Points, 3 Steals, 6 Assists, 1 3PTM)
  • Kevin Martin (0 Points, 19 Minutes)
  • Luis Scola (9 Points, 5 Rebounds)
  • Samuel Dalembert (27 Minutes, 9 Points, 10 Rebounds, 1 Block)
  • Courntey Lee (29 Minutes, 13 Points, 2 Steals, 1 Block, 4 Rebounds)
  • Chandler Parsons (33 Minutes, 9 Points, 4 Rebounds)
  • Chase Budinger (12 Minutes, 4 Points, 3 Rebounds)

Kyle Lowry put up decent numbers, but they were not Jason Kidd 2.0 quality.  Kevin Martin drama continues.  You have to stick with him.  Luis Scola has not been the same since Kevin Love stomped on his face.  Samuel Dalembert had a nice performance and could finally have earned his job back.  Triangle slash remains a headache, but the leader is Chandler Parsons for now.

MEM:

  • Mike Conley (21 Points, 4 Assists, 3 3PTM)
  • Rudy Gay (20 Points, 8 Rebounds, 3 Steals)
  • Tony Allen (10 Points, 4 Steals, 1 Block, 32 Minutes)
  • O.J. Mayo (10 Points, 23 Minutes)
  • Marc Gasol (18 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 1 Block)
  • Zach Randolph (DNP)

Rudy Gay is continuing to put up a good healthy season.  Marc Gasol has some quality numbers that will see a decrease when Randolph returns.  Tony Allen continues to be a nightmare to O.J. Mayo owners.  Mike Conley continues his impressive play as the franchise PG.

Utah Jazz 85 @ Oklahoma City Thunder 111

UTA:

  • Al Jefferson (15 Points, 5 Rebounds, 1 Block)
  • Paul Millsap (10 Points, 8 Rebounds, 1 Steal)
  • Derrick Favors (17 Minutes, 13 Points, 3 Rebounds)
  • Devin Harris (6 Points, 1 Assist, 5 Fouls, 15 Minutes)
  • Earl Watson (4 Points, 6 Assists, 28 Minutes)

Al Jefferson missed 12 shots tonight which lead to the loss.  Paul Millsap is not the same fantasy player with a healthy Big Al.  Derrick Favors waits for his chance to thrive.  Devin Harris fantasy owners are doubting their PG they drafted so high.  Now is the time to buy low.  Earl Watson has nice potential for owners that need assists.

OKC:

  • Kevin Durant (21 Points, 6 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 1 Block)
  • Russell Westbrook (16 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Assists)
  • Serge Ibaka (16 Points, 10 Rebounds, 6 Blocks)
  • James Harden (22 Points, 5 Assists, 4 Rebounds, 3 3PTM)

This game was a blowout, so the starters did not play much in the second half.  Kevin Durant was still solid with 3rd round value numbers.  Russell Westbrook has seen better days.  Serge Ibaka fantasy owners are happy with these days.  James Harden put up great numbers in the chance to take over the team in the second half.

Phoenix Suns 92 @ Denver Nuggets 109

PHX:

  • Steve Nash (DNP)
  • Grant Hill (DNP)
  • Michael Redd (20 Points, 6 Rebounds, 3 3PTM)
  • Jared Dudley (6 Points, 6 Rebounds)
  • Markieff Morris (21 Points, 6 Rebounds, 4 Steals, 2 Blocks, 28 Minutes)
  • Channing Frye (7 Points, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 18 Minutes)
  • Marcin Gortat (10 Points, 14 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 33 Minutes)

No Steve Nash left the Suns with no true offense.  Michael Redd had a big game which could affect Jared Dudley.  Dudley’s fantasy owners were happy to see him start at forward, 4 more games till eligibility if Grant Hill continues to miss time.  Channing Frye saw Markieff Morris explode in the blowout.  Interesting fantasy situation there.  Still the edge belongs to Frye.  Marcin Gortat put up solid numbers once again.

DEN:

  • Ty Lawson (17 Points, 5 Assists, 2 Steals)
  • Aaron Afflalo (20 Points, 2 Assists, 2 3PTM, 1 Steal, 1 Block)
  • Kenneth Faried (13 Points, 9 Rebounds, 1 Block)
  • Al Harrington (12 Points, 6 Rebounds, 2 Assists)
  • Chris Anderson (16 Points, 7 Rebounds, 6 Blocks, 1 Steal, 22 Minutes)
  • Andre Miller (22 Minutes, 2 Points, 5 Rebounds, 7 Assists)
  • Nene Hilario (DNP)

Ty Lawson had a solid game, nothing to brag home about.  His return has really dampened the value of Andre Miller who is barely keeping it alive with his assist potential.  Aaron Afflalo is finally playing like the player the Nuggets needed.  Al Harrington needs to explode off the bench with no Nene.  Kenneth Faried started and looked really good.  Chris Anderson came off the bench and is another big game away from becoming a player to seriously consider owning.

Washington Wizards 124 @ Portland Trail blazers 109

WAS:

  • John Wall (29 Points, 9 Assists, 2 Blocks, 1 Steal, 1 3PTM)
  • Nick Young (35 Points, 7 3PTM, 2 Steals)
  • Javale McGee (18 Points, 11 Rebounds, 1 Block)
  • Trevor Booker (4 Points, 3 Rebounds, 17 Minutes)
  • Jordan Crawford (21 Points, 3 Steals, 4 Assists, 1 3PTM, 30 Minutes)

Nick Young took his scoring potential to the next level.  20 is expected every game from Nick.  John Wall was a fantasy stud in the Wizards win.  That is to be expected, but Javale McGee double-double against the Blazers was not.  Jordan Crawford was a monster off the bench.  Trevor Booker is going to make it easy for Blatche with performances like that.

POR:

  • Nicolas Batum (33 Points, 3 3PTM, 1 Steal, 1 Block, Start at SG)
  • LaMarcus Aldridge (Ankle Injury)
  • Gerald Wallace (25 Points, 8 Assists, 2 Steals)
  • Raymond Felton (4 Points, 6 Assists, 1 Steal)
  • Jamal Crawford (3 Points, 5 Assits)
  • Marcus Camby (13 Points, 12 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 35 Minutes)
  • Wesley Matthews (15 Points, 5 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 37 Minutes)

LaMarcus Aldridge sprained his ankle.  Making the deepest fantasy basketball team have one less option for at least one game.  Nicolas Batum lite it up in his first start.  Could soon gain G eligibility.  Gerald Wallace had a nice game, and should have another with no Aldridge.  Raymond Felton has been inconsistent all year, while Wesley Matthews had a good game off the bench.  Matthews value is fading quick, so this could be the last chance to sell high.  Jamal Crawford had a bad game, and that will not happen very often.  Marcus Camby was solid and should be counted on with no Aldridge.

Atlanta Hawks 78 @ Los Angeles Lakers 86

ATL:

  • Josh Smith (15 Points, 9 Rebounds, 3 Blocks, 2 Steals)
  • Joe Johnson (15 Points, 5 Assists, 1 3PTM)
  • Jeff Teague (18 Points, 3 Steals, 2 Blocks, 2 3PTM, 2 Assists)
  • Zaza Pachulia (1 Point, 1 Block, 9 Rebounds, 4 Steals)
  • Marvin Williams (4 Points, 6 Rebounds)

Jeff Teague stepped out of the shadows and had one of his finer performances of the season.  This will keep his value good for now.  Joe Johnson did not score 20, and of course the Hawks lost.  Josh Smith is still on his mission to show he deserved an All-Star bid.  Zaza Pachulia got some nice intangible numbers, while Marvin Williams is waiver wire material.

LAL:

  • Kobe Bryant (10 Points, 4 Rebounds, 4 Assists)
  • Andrew Bynum (15 Points, 15 Rebounds, 2 Blocks)
  • Pau Gasol (20 Points, 13 Rebounds, 2 Blocks)

Kobe Bryant had what could be the worst game of his season.  Still nothing to be worried about.  Andrew Bynum was a beast down low, same can be said for Pau Gasol.  Since the Lakers are the only three man fantasy basketball team, elite numbers are expected every night.

Wednesday (2/15/12)

HEADLINES

  • Jrue Holiday hits a low. Evan Turner time?
  • Linsanity leads Knicks to 7th straight win.
  • MarShon Brooks played 29 Minutes.
  • Brandon Knight playing himself to the bench?
  • Kyrie Irving looks ready to dominate.
  • Kevin Martin 32 Points.  Is the slump over?

Philadelphia 76ers 87 @ Orlando Magic 103

PHI:

  • Jrue Holiday (25 Minutes, 1/8 FG, 5 Assists, 1 Steal)
  • Louis Williams (31 Minutes, 21 Points, 7 Assists, 2 3PTM, 1 Steal)
  • Evan Turner (26 Minutes, 6 Points, 8 Rebounds, 6 Assists)
  • Andre Iguodala (15 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 4 Assists)
  • Elton Brand (25 Minutes, 13 Points, 2 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 1 Block)
  • Thaddeus Young (12 Points, 4 Rebounds, 35 Minutes, 1 Steal, 1 Block)
  • Spencer Hawes (DNP)

Jrue Holiday may have opened the door for Evan Turner to be a consistent fantasy player.  Louis Williams could not be happier about Holiday’s bad night.  Andre Iguodala knows how to put up a solid game every night.  Paul George has better potential as a fantasy player.  Elton Brand is too inconsistent to trust.  His success could be due to no Spencer Hawes.  Thaddeus Young is clearly the better player and the 76ers know it.

ORL:

  • Dwight Howard (17 Points, 14 Rebounds, 2 Blocks, 1 Steal)
  • Ryan Anderson (27 Points, 2 Rebounds, 7 3PTM)
  • Jameer Nelson (12 Points, 14 Assists, 1 3PTM)
  • Jason Richardson (14 Points, 4 3PTM, 3 Assists, 2 Steals)
  • Hedo Turkoglu (11 Points, 7 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 3PTM)
  • J.J. Reddick (12 Points, 2 3PTM, 17 Minutes)

Dwight Howard had a nice game and remains the #1 Center in fantasy basketball by a long shot.  Ryan Anderson knocked down a lot of 3PTM, but the rebounds were not satisfying.  Jameer Nelson had a nice 14 Assists.  This could be the turn of his fantasy value, he should not be on any waiver wire.  Jason Richardson continues his solid play with 4 3PTM.  J.J. has been consistent off the bench, but as long as J-Rich is playing well Reddick is not a worthy fantasy player.  Hedo Turkoglu had an okay game.  His owners can’t expect greatness every night.

San Antonio Spurs 113 @ Toronto Raptors 106

SAS:

  • Tony Parker (34 Points, 15 Assists, 1 Steal)
  • Manu Ginobili (20 Minutes, 11 Points, 3 Rebounds)
  • Tiago Splitter (30 Minutes, 12 Points, 5 Rebounds, 1 Block)
  • Tim Duncan (20 Minutes, 8 Points, 3 Rebounds)
  • Dejuan Blair (6 Points, 4 Rebounds, 20 Minutes)
  • Richard Jefferson (25 Minutes, 10 Points, 3 Steals, 2 3PTM)

Tony Parker continues to be an elite fantasy guard.  Even with Manu returning.  Parker remains a good fantasy option this season because George Hill is not coming off the bench.  Manu Ginobili is getting back into game shape.  Tiago Splitter is the best player off the Spurs bench, though he should be starting for Dejuan Blair.  Tim Duncan showed his age tonight.  Richard Jefferson will still give you quality 3PTM for the forward position.

TOR:

  • DeMar DeRozan (29 Points, 3 Rebounds, 1 3PTM, 1 Steal)
  • Jose Calderon (16 Points, 11 Assists, 2 Steals)
  • James Johnson (6 Points, 3 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 23 Minutes)
  • Amir Johnson (5/5 FG, 10 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 23 Minutes)
  • Ed Davis (11 Points, 5 Rebounds, 1 Block, 1 Steal, 23 Minutes)
  • Rasual Butler (28 Minutes, 10 Points, 3 Assists)
  • Linas Kleiza (DNP)
  • Jerryd Bayless (DNP)
  • Andrea Bargnani (DNP)

DeMar DeRozan broke out with a huge scoring performance.  His consistency has been a factor all season, so we will keep a close eye on the situation.  Jose Calderon remains an excellent option while Jerryd Bayless sits.  James Johnson had no Linas Kleiza to deal with tonight.  So James was outplayed by his previous competition Rasual Butler.  Fantasy owners should stay away from the situation right now, but James J. has Gerald Wallace potential.  Ed Davis and Amir Johnson continue to mess each other up as far as fantasy value.  Their values will take a hit when Andrea Bargnani comes back.

Indiana Pacers 87 @ Cleveland Cavaliers 98

IND:

  • Darren Collison (18 Points, 3 Assists, 1 Block)
  • Paul George (11 Points, 8 Rebounds, 1 3PTM, 4/14 FG)
  • Roy Hibbert (17 Points, 8 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 1 Block)
  • David West (4/15 FG, 10 Points, 10 Rebounds)
  • Tyler Hansbrough (4 Points, 4 Rebounds, 19 Minutes)
  • Danny Granger (DNP)
  • George Hill (DNP)

Darren Collison had a nice game with no George Hill.  The consistency is not good enough.  Paul George has been putting up some good games, though with no Danny Granger you would hope for more.  David West got a double-double despite a bad offensive performance. Roy Hibbert was the focal point of the offense with no Danny.  Hansbrough remains waiver wire material.

CLE:

  • Kyrie Irving (22 Points, 5 Assists, 3 3PTM, 1 Steal)
  • Antwan Jamison (13 Points, 8 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 2 Blocks, 6/18 FG)
  • Semih Erden (18 Points, 8 Rebounds, 7/8 FG, 1 Steal)
  • Ramon Sessions (30 Minutes, 12 Points, 4 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 2 Steals, 2 3PTM)
  • Omri Casspi (10 Points, 3/10 FG, 3 3PTM, 9 Rebounds)

Kyrie Irving comes back and looks healthy.  His fantasy owners are happy about the news.  Antwan Jamison despite the bad shooting performance put up a decent fantasy game.  Semih Erden came out of nowhere to have a good game.  I do not expect him to shoot 7/8 FG in any game for a while.  I would wait and watch.  Ramon Sessions is counting down the days he gets traded, still productive.  Omri Casspi has been playing as a starter all season and has gotten no love.  I am watching you now Omri.

Memphis Grizzlies 105 @ New Jersey Nets 100

MEM:

  • Mike Conley (16 Points, 10 Assists, 4 Steals, 1 3PTM)
  • Rudy Gay (25 Points, 6 Rebounds, 3 3PTM, 1 Steal)
  • Marreese Speights (20 Points, 18 Rebounds, 2 Blocks)
  • Tony Allen (21 Points, 5 Steals, 1 Block, 4 Rebounds, 1 3PTM, 39 Minutes)
  • Marc Gasol (12 Points, 7 Rebounds, 6/15 FG)
  • O.J. Mayo (2/12 FG, 6 Points, 19 Minutes)
  • Zach Randolph (DNP)

Mike Conley continues to be a great fantasy PG to own.  Rudy Gay has been great with no Zach Randolph during all this time.  It will be interesting to see how the scoring goes. If Marc Gasol struggles to put up 12 Points now, he will struggle more frequently when ZBo is back.  Tony Allen is now clearly ahead of O.J. Mayo on the depth chart and makes a good fantasy add.  Marreese Speights had a nice moment that will keep him on NBA team radars when he becomes a Free Agent.

NJN:

  • Deron Williams (26 Points, 11 Assists, 2 Steals, 1 Block, 4 3PTM)
  • MarShon Brooks (29 Minutes, 12 Points, 2 Steals, 1 Block, 2 3PTM)
  • Kris Humphries (10 Points, 7 Rebounds, 37 Minutes)
  • Anthony Morrow (17 Points, 3 3PTM, 29 Minutes)
  • Brook Lopez (DNP)
  • Jordan Farmar (DNP)

Deron Williams is hands down the best fantasy PG.  The 3PTM along with everything else is a huge bonus.  MarShon Brooks saw a lot of PT and is close to breaking 30 Minutes.  If he gets past that mark he will be must-own material.  Kris Humphries fantasy value is starting to decline before our eyes.  Anthony Morrow was solid, but not consistent enough every night.  Good fantasy reserve.

Detroit Pistons 98 @ Boston Celtics 88

DET:

  • Rodney Stuckey (25 Points, 4 Assists, 1 Steal)
  • Brandon Knight (6 Points, 3 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 19 Minutes)
  • Greg Monroe (22 Points, 9 Rebounds, 1 Block)
  • Tayshaun Prince (37 Minutes, 10 Points, 5 Rebounds)
  • Ben Gordon (29 Minutes, 22 Points, 4 3PTM, 1 Steal)
  • Austin Daye (DNP-CD)

Rodney Stuckey had a great game and looks ready for a big sure.  Fantasy owners should jump on the train as Brandon Knight is clearly looking like the bench option of the two.  Ben Gordon is ready to be a big time contributor for Detroit.  Greg Monroe was solid and there is never anything to worry about with him.  Tayshaun Prince is like Grant Hill.  He gets a lot of minutes, but is not always productive.

BOS:

  • Rajon Rondo (35 Points, 6 Assists, 5 Rebounds, 4 Steals, 1 3PTM)
  • Ray Allen (10 Points, 6 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 2 Blocks)
  • Paul Pierce (10 Points, 5 Assists, 2 Blocks)
  • Chris Wilcox (17 Points, 9 Rebounds, 1 Steal)
  • Brandon Bass (DNP)
  • Kevin Garnett (DNP)

Rajon Rondo has been scoring a lot more frequently.  I want to see another 30 Point performance before the end of the weekend to be a true believer.  Ray Allen was quiet with 0 3PTM.  Paul Pierce had a bad game and looks to lose a lot of value with Rondo healthy.  The ball is not in his hands as often.  Chris Wilcox had a big game, and is the front runner for the Brandon Bass job while he is injured.  KG was a late scratch.

Sacramento Kings 85 @ New York Knicks 100

SAC:

  • DeMarcus Cousins (15 Points, 4 Rebounds, 2 Steals)
  • Tyreke Evans (19 Points, 5 Assists, 2 Steals, 4 Rebounds, 1 3PTM)
  • Marcus Thornton (13 Points, 1 3PTM, 3 Rebounds)
  • Jason Thompson (1 Point, 4 Rebounds, 29 Minutes)
  • John Salmons (2 Points, 3 Rebounds, 21 Minutes)

DeMarcus Cousins had his first mediocre game in some time.  Tyson Chandler is a tough center to produce on.  Tyreke Evans had the type of fantasy performance that makes his trade value look a bit better.  Marcus Thornton had a game to forget.  Same can be said about John Salmons and Jason Thompson.

NYK:

  • Jeremy Lin (10 Points, 13 Assists, 5 Rebounds, 26 Minutes)
  • Amare Stoudemire (11 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 1 Block, 27 Minutes)
  • Tyson Chandler (9 Points, 3 Rebounds, 2 Blocks, 30 Minutes)
  • Landry Fields (30 Minutes, 15 Points, 10 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 6/8 FG)
  • Iman Shumpert (11 Points, 21 Minutes, 1 3PTM)
  • Carmelo Anthony (DNP)

Jeremy Lin has been playing like a fantasy beast over this past week and a half.  He should be a good assist machine all season long when Melo comes back.  Amare is still having problems after a bad game like this.  Tyson Chandler was focused on stopping Cousins and not grabbing rebounds.  Landry Fields had a great game, but will not shoot 6/8 FG very often.  Iman Shumpert was nothing special tonight.

New Orleans Hornets 92 @ Milwaukee Bucks 89

NOH:

  • Greivis Vasquez (6 Points, 7 Assists, 1 Steal)
  • Marco Belinelli (22 Points, 6 3PTM)
  • Chris Kaman (18 Points, 10 Rebounds, 1 Block, 8/23 FG)
  • Trevor Ariza (14 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 3PTM, 2 Steals, 2 Blocks)
  • Gustavo Ayon (12 Points, 12 Rebounds, 3 Steals, 32 Minutes)
  • Emeka Okafor (DNP)
  • Jarrett Jack (DNP)

Greivis Vasquez had a bad performance with no Jarrett Jack.  With Gordon out for a month+ I expect Vasquez to be a fine option all season long.  Jack on the other hand has to show he still has what it takes to be a great starting PG when he returns.  Marco Belinelli broke out and now has my attention.  He has been decent all season, but nothing special.  Trevor Ariza is starting to look more decent with the team lacking a serious scoring option.  Chris Kaman is the offense with no Eric Gordon.  Emeka Okafor’s injury came at the worst time for him, as Gustavo Ayon will remain in the starting lineup with performances like Wednesday’s.

MIL:

  • Ersan Illysova (23 Points, 7 Rebounds, 2 Blocks, 1 3PTM, 9/21 FG)
  • Brandon Jennings (18 Points, 3 Steals, 3 Assists, 1 Block, 3 3PTM, 7/21 FG)
  • Drew Gooden (11 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Blocks, 1 3PTM)
  • Mike Dunleavy (25 Minutes, 10 Points, 2 3PTM)
  • Carlos Delfino (11 Points, 3 Steals, 1 3PTM)
  • Stephen Jackson (20 Minutes, 2 Points, 5 Assists, 1 Steal)

Brandon Jennings continues to give his fantasy owners headaches.  Despite scoring 18 Points, 3 Assists will not get it done.  Carlos Delfino had a bad performance after another breakout game.  Hard player to trust, but someone who makes a good waiver wire claim.  Mike Dunleavy is dropping the ball against Delfino.  Stephen Jackson needs to get traded before his fantasy value falls to worthless.  Ersan Illysova looks to be a hot waiver add after this monster performance to back his strong season.

Charlotte Bobcats 90 @ Minnesota Timberwolves 102

CHA:

  • Kemba Walker (21 Points, 6 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 3 3PTM)
  • Reggie Williams (10 Points, 7 Rebounds, 2 3PTM)
  • Boris Diaw (38 Minutes, 14 Points, 9 Rebounds, 7 Assists)
  • Bismack Biyombo (4 Points, 4 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 1 Block)
  • Corey Maggette (6/17 FG, 18 Points, 3 Rebounds, 1 Steal)
  • D.J. Augustin (24 Minutes, 4/10 FG, 9 Points, 2 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 3PTM)

D.J. Augustin returns which means Reggie Williams is having his last days of fantasy value.  Kemba Walker is safe as the franchise player.  Bismack Biyombo needs to start playing more consistent to be a good fantasy option.  Corey Maggette will score points in a hurry, and Boris Diaw has some trade value again.  Gerald Henderson should be a free agent in your local waiver wire.

MIN:

  • Kevin Love (30 Points, 18 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 2 3PTM)
  • Ricky Rubio (25 Minutes, 6 Points, 7 Assists, 4 Steals)
  • Nikola Pekovic (23 Points, 11 Rebounds, 3 Blocks)
  • Derrick Williams (9 Minutes, 4 Points)
  • Michael Beasley (9 Minutes, 4 Points)
  • Luke Ridnour (35 Minutes, 10 Points, 5 Assists, +20)

Kevin Love had his 4th 30+ Point, 15+ Rebound performance.  The guy is a fantasy beast.  Ricky Rubio showed some inconsistent scoring, but 7 Assists to go along with 4 Steals will get the job done.  Nikola Pekovic remains Marcin Gortat 2.0.  Derrick Williams and Michael Beasley were both buried on the bench.  Bad news for their fantasy owners especially with the T-Wolves win.  Luke Ridnour got a lot of minutes and the team was +20 when he was on the court.  His starting spot is safe.

Oklahoma City Thunder 95 @ Houston Rockets 96

OKC:

  • Russell Westbrook (26 Points, 8 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 1 3PTM)
  • Serge Ibaka (6 Points, 5 Rebounds, 4 Blocks, 1 Steal, 23 Minutes)
  • Kevin Durant (33 Points, 8 Rebounds, 2 3PTM, 1 Steal, 1 Block)
  • James Harden (17 Points, 4 Steals, 4 Assists, 3 3PTM)

Kevin Durant put up another 30+ Point game.  Fantasy owners are expecting more if it this season.  Serge Ibaka put up good numbers in limited minutes.  Sometimes he just does not get the playing time he deserves.  James Harden was solid off the bench, and I expect him to really breakout as we get closer to playoff time.  Russell Westbrook is a great fantasy guard because of his intangible stats, like 8 rebounds from a PG.

HOU:

  • Kevin Martin (32 Points, 4 3PTM, 2 Steals)
  • Kyle Lowry (11 Points, 9 Assists, 2 Steals, 1 3PTM)
  • Samuel Dalembert (2 Points, 12 Rebounds, 3 Steals, 3 Blocks, 29 Minutes)
  • Luis Scola (15 Points, 4 Rebounds, 32 Minutes)
  • Chandler Parsons (35 Minutes, 14 Points, 7 Rebounds, 2 Steals)
  • Courtney Lee (14 Minutes, 2 Points)
  • Chase Budinger (10 Minutes, 5 Points)
  • Patrick Patterson (23 Minutes, 6 Points, 7 Rebounds)

Kevin Martin broke out of the slump for now.  Another good game will keep his fantasy owners happy.  Kyle Lowry is slowly starting to fade from Jason Kidd 2.0.  He needs to put up some better 3×2 numbers.  Samuel Dalembert got his job back.  Jordan Hill waiver wire, Patrick Patterson an interesting player for now.  He plays minutes at PF which makes him more intriguing.  Triangle slash is now all Chandler Parsons.  One more good game and he is the safe guy to own.

Denver Nuggets 84 @ Dallas Mavericks 102

DEN:

  • Ty Lawson (3 Points, 2 Assists, 1/8 FG)
  • Aaron Afflalo (3 Points, 24 Minutes)
  • Kosta Koufos (12 Points, 14 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 1 Block)
  • Kenneth Faried (12 Points, 3 Rebounds, 21 Minutes)
  • Corey Brewer (35 Minutes, 9 Points, 7 Rebounds, 5 Steals)
  • Al Harrington (13 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 3PTM, 4/12 FG)
  • Chris Anderson (6 Points, 11 Rebounds, 1 Block, 22 Minutes)
  • Andre Miller (22 Minutes, 0 Points, 2 Assists)

Ty Lawson does not look ready to lead this team of misfits.  The team has lost identity with no Nene or Danilo.  Afflalo is showing his fantasy worth was short term, while Al Harrington does about this type of production every game.  Andre Miller is looking like waiver wire material, though he should not be there.  Chris Anderson, Kenneth Faried, and Kosta Koufos will all have different fantasy value when Nene returns.  Corey Brewer is an interesting option in fantasy leagues if he continues to play well.

DAL:

  • Vince Carter (15 Points, 6 Rebounds, 5/10 FG)
  • Jason Kidd (13 Points, 3 Steals, 4 3PTM)
  • Shawn Marion (16 Points, 10 Rebounds, 6 Assists)
  • Dirk Nowitzki (12 Points, 4 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 Block)
  • Lamar Odom (14 Points, 3 Rebounds)
  • Delonte West (12 Minutes, 3 Points)
  • Jason Terry (DNP-Quad)

It was a blowout for the Mavs, which means all fantasy values are not what they are supposed to be.  Dirk Nowitzki failed to get 20 Points for the first time in 6 games.  Jason Kidd was decent and put up Kyle Lowry type numbers from two weeks ago.  Shawn Marion remains a good fantasy option because of his intangibles.  Lamar Odom got some nice minutes in the blowout, while Delonte West did not.  Vince Carter looks to keep his starting job for now, and Jason Terry has a quad injury.

Atlanta Hawks 101 @ Phoenix Suns 99

ATL:

  • Joe Johnson (6 Points, 3 Assists, 1 3PTM)
  • Jeff Teague (16 Points, 5 Assists, 2 Steals, 2 3PTM)
  • Josh Smith (30 Points, 17 Rebounds, 7 Assists, 4 Steals, 3 Blocks)
  • Marvin Williams (20 Minutes, 4 Points, 4 Rebounds)
  • Zaza Pachulia (15 Points, 4 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 2 Blocks)
  • Willie Green (35 Minutes, 20 Points, 3 Steals, 4 Rebounds, 4 3PTM)

Jeff Teague continued his success with another good game.  Willie Green could become a factor, but he looks to be the PG of this team.  Joe Johnson did not score 20, and somehow the Hawks won.  Josh Smith is still on his mission to show he deserved an All-Star bid.  Zaza Pachulia got some numbers, while Marvin Williams is waiver wire material.

PHX:

  • Steve Nash (22 Points, 16 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 3PTM)
  • Jared Dudley (11 Points, 3 Rebounds, 2 3PTM, 33 Minutes)
  • Marcin Gortat (13 Points, 6 Rebounds, 3 Steals, 2 Blocks)
  • Grant Hill (18 Points, 6 Rebounds, 37 Minutes, 1 3PTM)
  • Markieff Morris (8 Points, 5 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 20 Minutes)
  • Channing Frye (33 Minutes, 13 Points, 11 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 2 Blocks,  1 3PTM)

Steve Nash returned and put up an elite performance.  He has been a great fantasy option all season long.  Jared Dudley was okay, but at least safe for now as a starter.  Grant Hill returned to play 37 Minutes and have one of the best games of his season.  Not a bad option if you need a forward.  Marcin Gortat continues to be an asset to all fantasy teams.  Markieff Morris put up decent numbers in limited minutes, while Channing Frye is clearly the guy to own between the two.

Portland Trail Blazers 93 @ Golden State Warriors 91

POR:

  • Raymond Felton (10 Points, 6 Assists, 2 3PTM, 1 Steal)
  • Wesley Matthews (9 Points, 4 Assists, 1 3PTM)
  • Jamal Crawford (28 Minutes, 14 Points, 6 Assists, 2 Steals, 1 3PTM)
  • Nicolas Batum (17 Points, 4 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 2 Blocks, 2 3PTM)
  • Gerald Wallace (24 Points, 6 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 1 Block, 4 3PTM)
  • Marcus Camby (12 Points, 11 Rebounds)
  • LaMarcus Aldridge (DNP)

LaMarcus Aldridge did not play which opened up the door for Gerald Wallace once again.  The time is now to sell high as his value will not be great when the team is stacked again.  Marcus Camby registered back-to-back double-doubles.  Nicolas Batum looks comfortable as a starter which will make him a starter in all fantasy leagues.  Jamal Crawford out played both Wesley Matthews and Raymond Felton.  No big surprise there.

GS:

  • David Lee (29 Points, 11 Rebounds, 3 Assists)
  • Stephen Curry (8 Points, 8 Assists, 2 Steals, 2 Blocks)
  • Monta Ellis (10 Points, 5 Assists, 1 3PTM)
  • Dorrell Wright (27 Minutes, 12 Points, 5 Rebounds, 1 Steal)
  • Brandon Rush (24 Minutes, 2 Points, 2 Steals, 1 Block)
  • Ekpe Udoh (21 Minutes, 2 Blocks)
  • Nate Robinson (21 Points, 21 Minutes, 3 3PTM)

David Lee is one of the hottest players in fantasy basketball.  His value should remain high all-season.  It helps when Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis combine for 18 Points.  Both have turned into pretty inconsistent fantasy options.  They can both explode any night.  Dorrell Wright is splitting time with Brandon Rush.  Not a good fantasy situation for his owners.  Ekpe Udoh is less valuable than Bismack Biyombo right now.  Nate Robinson is someone to watch being the spark plug.

Washington Wizards 84 @ Los Angeles Clippers 102

WAS:

  • John Wall (18 Points, 12 Assists, 6 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 1 Block)
  • Nick Young (14 Points, 1 Assist, 3/10 3PTM)
  • Jordan Crawford (32 Minutes, 12 Points, 2/8 3PTM)
  • Trevor Booker (9 Points, 8 Rebounds)
  • Javale McGee (18 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Blocks)

John Wall was able to collect all his fantasy value in the blowout loss.  Nick Young missed a lot of shots, but at least he took them.  Jordan Crawford got a lot of run time after his big performance in their last game.  The Wizards want to see him thrive.  Trevor Booker remains a stoppage gap in all fantasy leagues.  Javale McGee scored nicely, but the rebounds could be better.

LAC:

  • Chris Paul (16 Points, 9 Assists, 2 3PTM)
  • Blake Griffin (23 Points, 15 Rebounds, 1 Steal)
  • Caron Butler (21 Points, 5 Rebounds, 5 3PTM)
  • DeAndre Jordan (11 Points, 9 Rebounds, 3 Blocks, 23 Minutes)
  • Randy Foye (10 Points, 4 Assists, 2 3PTM, 36 Minutes)
  • Mo Williams (11 Points, 2 3PTM, 30 Minutes)
  • Kenyon Martin (23 Minutes, 4 Points, 3 Rebounds)

Chris Paul has been a bit of a disappointment considering the 20+ Point performances have not been coming frequently.  Blake Griffin had a 1st round type value game.  Caron Butler has been hot lately, and his value took a big upward swing with the Billups injury.  DeAndre Jordan had a nice performance, but I am still worried about Kenyon Martin taking some value away.  Mo Williams and Randy Foye are in a deadlock for the SG minutes.

Thursday (2/16/12)

HEADLINES

  • Danny Granger and Kevin Garnett return to court.
  • Derrick Rose still out.
  • J.R. Smith to sign with Knicks.
  • Wilson Chandler may ditch CBA team?
  • Drew Gooden wrist injury.
  • MarShon Brooks played 37 Minutes.
  • DeAndre Jordan losing PT to Kenyon Martin.  Again.

New Jersey Nets 88 @ Indiana Pacers 93

NJN:

  • Deron Williams (29 Points, 1 3PTM, 6 Rebounds, 4 Assists)
  • MarShon Brooks (37 Minutes, 14 Points, 5 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 1 3PTM)
  • Kris Humphries (24 Points, 10 Rebounds, 3 Blocks)
  • Anthony Morrow (24 Minutes, 2 3PTM, 8 Points, 1 Steal)
  • Brook Lopez (DNP)
  • Jordan Farmar (3 Minutes, 0 Points)

Deron Williams still had a nice game despite getting less than 5 assists.  MarShon Brooks is back on his way to becoming the fantasy option he was before the injury.  Kris Humphries bounced back with a huge game.  This is still the prime time to sell him high.  Anthony Morrow is getting comfortable with his bench role.  Fantasy owners are not happy about it.  Brook Lopez return is coming soon.

IND:

  • Danny Granger (32 Points, 5 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 4 3PTM, 42 Minutes)
  • Paul George (11 Points, 4 Steals, 2 Blocks, 5 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 1 3PTM)
  • Darren Collison (5 Points, 2 Assists, 1 Steal, 2 Blocks, 26 Minutes)
  • Roy Hibbert (13 Points, 11 Rebounds, 1 Block, 27 Minutes)
  • David West (16 Points, 6 Rebounds, 1 Block, 6/16 FG)
  • Tyler Hansbrough (17 Minutes, 4 Points, 3 Rebounds)

Danny Granger looked healthy, and his fantasy owners are excited about that.  Paul George is one of the most underrated fantasy option today.  He fills up the box score every night and is a great guy to target.  Darren Collison had a terrible game.  Roy Hibbert is getting his despite all the option on the team. David West is shooting the ball more and more as the season progresses.  Tyler Hansbrough is waiver wire material.

Boston Celtics 80 @ Chicago Bulls 89

BOS:

  • Rajon Rondo (17 Points, 7 Rebounds, 8 Assists, 1 Steal)
  • Ray Allen (12 Points, 3 3PTM, 1 Steal)
  • Paul Pierce (14 Points, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 6/16 FG)
  • Kevin Garnett (18 Points, 10 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 1 Block, 32 Minutes)
  • Chris Wilcox (9 Points, 2 Steals, 2 Blocks, 3 Rebounds, 27 Minutes)
  • Brandon Bass (DNP)

Rajon Rondo continues to put up nice scoring numbers.  The rebounds and assists are starting to come together consistently.  Ray Allen does what he does best, 3 3PTM.  Paul Pierce has been struggling since Rondo’s return.  Kevin Garnett is back and looked healthy.  Brandon Bass owners, meet Chris Wilcox.

CHI:

  • Luol Deng (23 Points, 10 Assists, 4 Rebounds, 1 Block, 4 3PTM)
  • Carlos Boozer (23 Points, 15 Rebounds, 5 Assists)
  • Derrick Rose (DNP)
  • C.J. Watson (11 Points, 3 Assists, 2 3PTM)
  • Ronnie Brewer (21 Minutes, 1 Steal)
  • Joakim Noah (15 Points, 16 Rebounds, 2 Blocks)

Luol Deng has always been a consistent fantasy player when Derrick Rose is hurt.  Carlos Boozer is continuing his comeback player of the year season.  C.J. Watson was not stellar in his spot start.  Ronnie Brewer is worthless in fantasy leagues, especially when Rip Hamilton comes back.  Joakim Noah is one of the hottest centers in fantasy basketball.

Los Angeles Clippers 74 @ Portland Trail Blazers 71

LAC:

  • Chris Paul (13 Points, 3 Assists, 6 Rebounds, 4 Steals, 1 3PTM)
  • Blake Griffin (21 Points, 14 Rebounds, 1 Block)
  • Caron Butler (31 Minutes, 6 Points, 1 Block)
  • Randy Foye (33 Minutes, 3/12 FG, 2 Steals, 2 Blocks, 6 Points, 4 Assists)
  • Mo Williams (35 Minutes, 5/15 FG, 1 3PTM, 17 Points, 6 Rebounds, 2 Blocks)
  • DeAndre Jordan (21 Minutes, 5 Points, 7 Rebounds, 4 Blocks, 1 Steal)
  • Kenyon Martin (29 Minutes, 6 Points, 6 Rebounds, 1 Steal)

Chris Paul has been playing more like a 2nd round pick than a top 5 overall.  Now is a good time to buy low on the star.  Blake Griffin consistently puts up big double-doubles.  Caron Butler had a terrible game.  Randy Foye is seeing consistent good minutes, but is clearly getting outplayed by Mo Williams.  Both are viable fantasy options, edge to Williams.  DeAndre Jordan loses playing time to Kenyon Martin again.  A trend happening all week.

  • LaMarcus Aldridge (DNP)

Gerald Wallace put together a game that makes you wish you sold high like I told you to.  Wait for the next hot streak to come around.  Jamal Crawford is the best guard on the team.  Nicolas Batum has been one of the hottest players in fantasy basketball lately.  Marcus Camby dealt with foul trouble.  Raymond Felton is on a huge downhill fall.  Wesley Matthews had a great game for his fantasy owners.  The problem is, these games are not consistent enough and they are not that great.  More solid.

  1. Should I trade Brandon Jennings for Rubio? Also I have a Hibbert/Tyreke/Millsap for Al J/Noah trade up in the air waiting to be accepted. If I trade Tyreke and/or Jennings I would need a short-term G who can score and make 3’s (Candidates are Batum, Jamal Crawford, Chase Budinger, and O.J. Mayo). If Millsap and Hibbert get traded, Al and Joakim will take their places in their respective categories (blocks, rebounds). This is how my team looks as tomorrow (I also have Pekovic on my watch list because Hibbert is too valuable to drop. Gallo is also on the shelf, and I recently dropped Eric Gordon):

    PG Westbrook
    PG Jennings
    SG Tyreke
    SG J-Rich
    G Kemba Walker
    SF Joe Johnson
    SF Jared Dudley
    PF LeBron
    PF Trevor Booker
    F DeMarcus Cousins
    C Roy Hibbert
C Emeka Okafor (questionable for tomorrow?)
    UTIL Mike Conley
    UTIL Kyrie Irving

Bench: Millsap and Gallo (1 empty spot)

  2. Very good advice here so far. Thanks so much for everything so far Muntra…I figured rather than posting in the older thread I’d post in the current one. I’ve made some moves in the last week and I think they were good ones thanks to your advice.

Here’s my team as of today (and my lineup for who’s playing). 10 team, h2h, 9 cat, I’m currently tied for 2nd with 3 other teams at 5-2:

    PG Steve Nash
    SG Tyreke Evans
    SF Josh Smith
    PF Ryan Anderson
    C Dwight Howard
    Util Jeremy Lin
    Util Antawn Jamison
    BN Serge Ibaka
    BN Andrew Bynum
    BN Kyrie Irving
    BN J.R. Smith

I sent a trade request which was Bynum and Evans for Kobe. I’m not sure if it’s too much, but I did it anyways. My idea was that I could still pick up either Brook Lopez or Pekovic off the wire. I’m a bit cautious with the trade because I’m not too familiar with Lopez, but it does seem like he’d give me similar numbers as Bynum when he returns.

Are there any other potential targets I could aim for? Are there any drops I should consider? One of the things I’ve noticed that could help my ability to win would be having players spread across more days, but I’m not exactly sure how to get that to work. I think that’s tough to schedule out.

  3. Nicolas Batum should be added in all leagues.

You can safely drop Trevor Booker for him as that will be a huge upgrade.

As far as trading Jennings for Rubio. I personally like Brandon Jennings a lot, and I think he is going to break out of this funk. He has struggled since Bogut went down, but he did show he was capable of that 44 Point performance against the Heat.

This trade offer will be around all-season, I would not pull the trigger yet. Wait to see if he gets it together for the first game or two after the All-Star break before trading the struggling star.

  4. Waiver Wire article comes out tomorrow, so you can see then if there is anyone worth adding.

Your team looks stacked and there is nobody I would drop. Anyone you do drop will be picked up right away.

Brook Lopez will not give you Andrew Bynum numbers.

First: The Nets are going to be cautious when he first returns. So expect big minutes, Mid March.
Second: He is one of the weakest rebounding big men in the league. No way to explain it, but sometimes 7 Rebounds will feel like a solid game.
Third: The Nets will be eliminated from playoff contention, and it is unlikely Lopez finishes out the season.

The trade you have on the table is way too much. Instead of Tyreke Evans I would offer Kyrie Irving after he has a big game.

Either way it looks like your team is easily in 1st place and there is not much to worry about right now.

  5. Thanks for your advice. I just pulled the trade offer off the table. I’ll sit tight and work on playing the right roster, day to day. The roster is difficult because of overlap. Today has Irving and Ibaka on the bench. I’m sitting Irving because it’s his first game back and only sitting Ibaka because I’m already ahead by 6 blocks this week. Cheers!

  6. Sadly he did not want either of those trades… Will CP3 for Deron Williams straight up be solid? or Do you think CP3 be more reliable than D. Williams?

  7. I rather have Deron Williams.

When Brook Lopez gets healthy, expect D.Will to put up even better assist numbers. On top of that the opposing teams big man will not be able to help out when Williams drives or else Lopez will do some damage.

I rather have Williams long term.

  8. I would personally hold onto Lowry over Parker.

Parker only gives you assists and points. Lowry does so much more, 3PTM, Steals, Rebounds. If you need assists and points more than the intangibles, then you can make this move.
