THE LEGEND

(DETROIT LIONS)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

For the past 2 seasons, Matt Stafford has been a god to BEAST DOME. He has been a consistent Top 10 QB, and his numbers always seemed like they could have been higher if it was not for bad play calling. More specifically running the ball every second they have any lead.

Last season Stafford had 14 TD in his first 6 games. Just when that 40 TD season seemed possible, Stafford tore a ligament in his throwing finger. Luckily for all the BEAST DOME NATION, the QB Strategy last year was to draft both Matt Stafford and Matt Ryan.

We have lived and breathed the thumb injuries, the loss of Megatron, the countless comebacks with the Matt Prater QB/K Combo FG. We have lived and breathed Matt Stafford. Will it be for a 3rd Straight Year?

DEFENSE

B+

The Defensive Line is once again as dominant as it gets. Kerry Hyder turned into a superstar from nothing, while Ziggy Ansah and Haloti Ngata are 100% Healthy. That D-Line is going to force teams to play at a high speed.

The Linebacker core is featured behind Tair Whitehead who is definitely one of the top MLBs in the game. Paul Worrilow joining the squad is a tackle machine, he once had 143 Tackles in one season, back in 2014. Along with Rookie LB Jarrad Davis. Have to watch him during Preseason to make a real case for him, supposed to be good at coverage we will see when he is on an NFL field.

The Secondary for the Lions is one of the best in the NFC on a very underground level. Darius Slay is a great #1 corner, Nevin Lawson/D.J. Hayden are both rock solid at #2/#3. Glover Quin is an INT machine and Tavon Wilson is extremely athletic.

The Lions have a very strong defense.

OFFENSE

A-

The real downfall to Matt Stafford (QB1) last season, was the loss of Ameer Abdullah (RB3/4). Once Abdullah went down, teams did not have to respect the run. Yes, Theo Riddick (RB 4/5) was a very nice RB and defenses did have to give him some sort of respect, but Defenses were more concerned about Riddick catching passes more than running up the middle.

With both Abdullah and Riddick 100% healthy after both going through off season surgeries. Abdullah, Foot. Riddick, Wrist. The Lions Running game is still as strong as it can be for a team that is down to its #3/#4 with Zach Zenner and DeWayne Washington.

FANTASY FOOTBALL

MUNTRADAMUS SHOW WEEK 1

By Muntradamus

Rise and shine BEAST DOME NATION, It is week 1 of the Fantasy Football Season. Time to make some money in Daily Fantasy and get that bankroll growing.

When making your Daily Fantasy Team, it is important to use at least 1 or 2 Sleeper BEAST Studs to really optimize your lineup so you can acquire the True BEAST Players. These are the guys that can make your team a mortal lock for those 50/50 Double Up Leagues, and give you fighting shot in GPPs.

BEAST OF THE WEEK (1)

MATT STAFFORD – DET @ IND

(QB. $7,400 FANDUEL)

The Lions are running a Shotgun No Huddle Offense. Stafford has more weapons than most QBs in the league, and he has the arm strength that barely any QB can compete with. Playing in a Dome this Sunday, against another team that goes a lot of no huddle. We can expect a good fashion Shootout. With the Lions not having much of a running game, we can expect Stafford to throw the ball 50+ Times with ease.

When Stafford throws the ball 50+ Times, you can expect a guaranteed 300+ Yards. 2+ TDs. In my mind, there is not a safer QB in Fantasy Football this week and he will be #1 on my list. Especially with the Colts missing their top two cover corners leaving the Colts extremely thin in their secondary.  The Lions are going to put up a lot of points this year. Stafford will show the world why in Week 1.

BUST OF THE WEEK (1)

Russell Wilson SEA vs. MIA

(QB. $8,500 FANDUEL)

Standing at 5’10 and around 200 LBs. Russell Wilson will be running for his life against a Dolphins D-Line that is big enough to eat him for Breakfast/Lunch/and Dinner. The Seahawks completely re-modeled their offensive line, while the Dolphins added one of the best pass rushers in the NFL with Mario Williams.

Russell Wilson will have no time to throw, he will take some hard hits, and will lose you money if you play him on your Daily Fantasy Roster.

BEAST OF THE WEEK (1)

MOHAMED SANU – ATL vs. TB

(WR. $5,800 FANDUEL)

Julio Jones is nursing a bad ankle, but will still play and likely run as if he was 100%. With that being the case, if the Bucs want any chance to win this game, they must roll the coverage over to shutdown Julio nearly every snap. When the Bucs shift the focus onto Julio Jones, it is Mohamed Sanu time. Matt Ryan has a lot of trust in his new toy Mohamed Sanu, and we should easily see 10+ Targets against the Bucs. Matt Ryan does not have much else to work with in the passing game besides the quick hits to the Running Backs.

When Sanu gets 10+ Targets, you can expect an easy 7+ Receptions. 80+ Yards. With the definite potential TD in what will be a high scoring day for the Falcons in their home opener.

If you do not play Mohamed Sanu on your Daily Fantasy Lineups this week.

  You Sanuze, You Luze.

I am not trying to sound like a salesman. Now is the time to draft in these Sheep Leagues. You may think, what if injuries, what if players don’t sign. Year after year, players that I rank this time of the year start getting drafted much earlier than anticipated.

SSS – 2014 with his breakout preseason.

Ivory – 2015 with his breakout preseason.

Are only two very small examples, but the first two that came to my head. You will see how I BEASTED this draft with my eyes closed. You will see that if you draft a team today, you will be so confident that nothing can shake you on the outside world.

TEAM BEAST DOME.

1st ROUND (#8 Pick/12 Teams)

ADRIAN PETERSON – MIN

With the #8 Overall Pick, I landed a RB who could easily rush for over 2,000 Yards. The Vikings Offense is primed for a BEAST season with the addition of MEGAQON aka Laqon Treadwell. With teams giving respect to the passing game, and the Vikings returning to a Dome. Adrian Peterson is going to be running as vicious as ever, especially after his offseason work out plan where he stated he wants to be running for over 1,000 Yards when he’s 35. At 31 Years Old, Adrian Peterson will be running like he is 28.

2nd ROUND

GOLDEN TATE – DET

In a PPR League. Golden Tate is going to be ridiculous. Remember the Lions do plan on throwing the ball to run the ball. While they have not stated that publicly, you can guarantee Abdullah nor Riddick take over 15 carries in a game. Combined they might do 25. Golden Tate will be catching 2-4 passes a quarter, easily. It is not impossible to see over 120 Receptions from Golden Tate.

DO NOT BE LATE DRAFTING GOLDEN TATE

*UPDATE. The addition of Anquan Boldin only makes the Lions Passing game so much more dominant. Golden Tate will never be double teamed, as well as always going up against the opposing teams top corner. He will be unguardable.

3rd ROUND – 6th ROUND

*PRESEASON BEAST*

7th ROUND

MOHAMED SANU – ATL

Ya it might have been a round or two early, but at this point I know I have my dream team in the making and it would be a dagger in my heart if Sanu did not make his way back to me as the draft was heading the other direction. All it takes is one Mohamed Sanu TD this preseason to make him someone that will be drafted earlier than this pick. The NFFC Draft Board had him pretty high in regards to the other talent on the board. If there was anyone from Atlanta in that Draft Room, I felt he would have been gone.

9th ROUND

MATT STAFFORD – DET

There was still Blake Bortles/Phillip Rivers/Eli Manning/Derek Carr on the board. The chances of Stafford coming back to me was almost automatic. However, the turn of the draft was heading in the other direction. I already have my dream team at this point, I cannot afford to lose on Matt Stafford and his 50+ Passing Attempts every game. The Lions are going to run the ball to throw the ball, and Stafford will be a TD Machine who could easily surpass 5,000 Yards. No Megatron means it is time for Stafford to drive the Lions offense the way he wants.

*UPDATE. The addition of Anquan Boldin gives Matt Stafford so many weapons, he will have too many mismatches to choose from everytime he throws the football. 5,000+ Yards seems almost automatic for a Lions team that will throw the ball non-stop.

14th ROUND

MATT RYAN – ATL

While I do see other QBs on the board who usually get drafted before Ryan, like Tony Romo. I really want Matty Ice who is capable of putting up one his best seasons with all the addition of Alex Mack. You cannot underestimate a Center in Football as they are the QBs of the offensive Line. When the Offensive Line is giving Matt Ryan time to throw, the Falcons offense is going to be a thing of beauty. Between Matt Ryan and Matt Stafford on my team, I now can be in a Dome all 17 Weeks of the season.

The QB Position

You can take Luck out of the equation and always go with an ELITE like Aaron Rodgers with a healthy Jordy Nelson or by taking Cam Newton who has a healthy Kelvin Benjamin. Going with either guy will cost yourself a 2nd/3rd Round Draft Pick. I have a better strategy.

For the first time in BEAST DOME History. I am telling you to not worry about the Quarter Back Position and fill out your roster. When the time comes, you will be able to snag two stars for bottom of the barrel draft picks.

My QBs   of 2016 are…

#1 Matt Stafford

Before you say, I don’t want to mess with that again. Stafford finished the last 8 games of 2016 going 6-2 with 20 Touchdowns and 2 INTs. The change to Jim Bob Cooter lit the Lions offense on fire to close out the season. The Lions did not make a change at the Offensive Line Position, and the Running Game is as weak as ever now that Joique Bell is gone. Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick who both are at their best when they are catching passes in the open field. Neither can take too many carries without the risk of injury.

The best part about Stafford is the fact the Lions throw the ball to run the ball. Golden Tate should get 5+ Bubble screens a game, and Stafford will bootleg a lot to pick up short yards in the quick passing game.

Last season the Lions faced Minnesota/Denver/Seattle/Arizona 4 weeks in a row to start the season. In 2016 they have one of the most cupcake schedules in the NFL. Lions only have 3 games that are away from a Dome, and 2 of them happen within the first 4 games of the season.

Screen Shot 2016-06-17 at 9.03.42 PM

You can argue that Calvin Johnson no longer being there makes the Lions a worst team. However during that span of Stafford going off for 20 TD/2 INT in the final 8 games. Calvin Johnson went over the 100 Yard Mark during that span only once with 6 Touchdowns.

The Lions got much more athletic with Marvin Jones who can stretch the field and really go up for passes, along with Andre Roberts who is a very talented vertical threat. Most of the heavy lifting will be done by Eric Ebron and Golden Tate, but the Lions are loaded with playmakers in the passing game who can take a 5 yard pass and turn it into a 20 yard gain. The pass attempts will be there for Stafford all season, especially in the Red Zone.

#2 MATT RYAN

The Falcons were plagued with Offensive Coordinator  Kyle Shanahan doing a horrible job running the Falcons offense in 2015. It is one thing to stop using Roddy White, it is an entirely different thing to not do anything to replace him.

So this season Roddy White is no longer there, and in comes Mohamaed You Sanuze You Lose. Sanu is a very talented WR who can make big plays down the field and should be an excellent compliment to Julio Jones who is arguably the best WR in the game today. Julio is still at his peak, and as long as Matt Ryan takes his shots at Julio, Matt Ryan will end up with good numbers.

The X-Factor that is really going to help the Falcons is the addition of Alex Mack. Mack was the Center with Kyle Shanahan in Cleveland, and him coming over to Atlanta to man handle the offensive line will allow Matt Ryan to concentrate more on picking opponents secondaries apart.

Screen Shot 2016-06-17 at 9.15.02 PM

The Falcons schedule is an interesting one, but it goes very well with Stafford’s. Falcons play @Philly for Stafford’s Bye Week is big, and the start of the season should be a Boom for Ryan and the Falcons offense which includes a Monday Night Football Game in New Orleans. If you play it right between the two, you could be in a Dome all 17 Weeks of the season.

The Fantasy Playoffs can easily setup Stafford @Home against the Bears on Week 14. Ryan @Home against the Chip Kelly and the 49ers on Week 15. Then you can let Stafford take the Championship home for you on Monday Night Football Week 16 in Dallas, a Stadium which almost guarantees a 400+ Yard Performance as he always tears up his home state Cowboys.

In the end, you can build an unstoppable team this season in Fantasy Football while getting 2 QBs who play on teams that are constantly in a Dome. They are on teams that are known for their passing games, and two QB’s who could easily be considered on Talent alone Top 10 no questions asked. Matt Ryan is currently Ranked the #18 QB on FantasyPros, Stafford at #19. Two Quarterbacks who should throw for over 4,500 Yards and 30+ TDs no questions asked.
