FANTASY FOOTBALL: THURSDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (Week 2)

FANTASY FOOTBALL:

THURSDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (Week 2)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

What’s Yellow and White with Red All over. A Jamaal Charles on Thursday Night Football against the hard hitting Denver Broncos Defense at Arrowhead.

Jamaal Charles owners can breathe a sigh of relief after a gift Touchdown thanks to a Brian Hoyer Fumble inside of his own 10 Yard Line. With 12 of Jamaal’s 16 carries going for 5 Yards or Less against the Texans in Week 1, which included a first half of 7 Carries for 8 Yards. Things do not get any easier as he goes up against the Two Fast Two Furious Broncos D, Directed by Wade Phillips in what will be a defensive AFC West showdown.

As George W. Bush once said.

Fool me once. Shame on you. If you fool me, you can’t get fooled again.

JAMAAL CHARLES BUST OF THE WEEK (2)

Last season in Week 2 Jamaal Charles was my BUST OF THE WEEK and he   ended up getting injured against the Broncos early on after a hard hit from TJ Ward. TJ Ward is back for this matchup and while I doubt he injures him again, there will be plenty of Broncos players that will look to rip the head off of Jamaal Charles. Jamaal will have a lot of trouble getting the edges as Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware will make sure all the running lanes are clogged up and the itsy bitsy Jamaal will get swallowed up by the Denver Defense. If you think the one man show of Jeremy Maclin will be able to get open against Aqib Talib, that won’t happen, just ask Steve Smith Sr. If you think Travis Kelce who got all of his stats in 1 Quarter will be able to breakout against a Denver Defense that plays 10mph faster than the Texans, think again.

With the Chiefs offense going nowhere this week besides to the sidelines to watch punt after punt, and Denver owning Time Of possession dinking and dunking all over the field in the Peyton Manning statement game. Jamaal Charles, you are my BUST OF THE WEEK.

FANTASY FOOTBALL 2015: BUST OF THE WEEK (1) (JAMAAL CHARLES)

FANTASY FOOTBALL 2015:

BUST OF THE WEEK (1) (JAMAAL CHARLES)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

Coming into Week 1 of the 2015 NFL Season, every Fantasy Expert is high on Jamaal Charles as if he were coming off of his 2012 campaign, which included over 1,500 Yard Rushing yards along with a career high 285 carries. The 2015 Jamaal Charles is only a shade of how good he once was, as Jamaal is coming off of a 1st Round Pick Record low 206 Carries and just a tad over 1,000 rushing yards on the ground in 2014. With Jamaal Charles being held on average under 11 carries a game in his last 5 matchups to close out the 2014 season, it is time to realize that Jamaal is not even a fraction of the Jamaal he once was.

Heading into Week 1 of the NFL season as the most expensive Running Back in Daily Fantasy on DraftKings at 7,900, and going up against the Hard Knocks Houston Texans Defense, in Houston. Andy Reid and Jamaal Charles Fantasy Football owners will have to hope for a miracle, or just pretend like they know exactly what you’re doing taking him Top 3, because Jamaal Charles.

You are my BUST OF THE WEEK

The Texans Defense is much stronger than they were in 2014. The two biggest moves that will be most evident for the Texans Defense this season is the addition of Vincent Wilfork, he is big enough to count as two moves. Wilfork will create so much pressure up the middle that Quarterbacks will not be able to step up in the pocket when J.J. Watt and others create pressure from the outside, Running Backs will meet a brick wall if they take the carry up the middle. The biggest impact will be the return of Jadeveon Clowney. I am excited to see Clowney who will finally be back ready to BEAST after missing nearly all of the 2014 season with a knee injury. Clowney is also the perfect hybrid DE/LB to contain Jamaal Charles from breaking runs to the outside as Clowney’s speed is unreal for his position, and we all know how hard this guy can hit. With Clowney holding containment turning Charles back to the middle, Brian Cushing will eat him up for breakfast/lunch and dinner. Jamaal is the type of Running Back that the Chiefs need to limit how many times he gets hit in a game. A couple big hits from Watt/Wilfork/Clowney/Cushing is sure to leave Jamaal banged up which is the last thing his owners want as we embrace the upcoming four months of the 2015 season.

FANTASY FOOTBALL 2015:

SHEEP PICK OF THE YEAR (JAMAAL CHARLES)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

The gig is up. Jamaal Charles is nowhere near a Top 10 RB in Fantasy Football anymore. If you want to lose your Fantasy Football League this season, go ahead and Draft Jamaal Charles in the 1st Round.

JAMAAL CHARLES 2015 FANTASYPROS RB RANK (#2)

Screen Shot 2015-08-25 at 12.07.57 PM

Last season I wrote a Preseason article calling out Jamaal Charles as the BUST pick of the Year, got a lot of heat for it, but was obviously more than correct.

JAMAAL CHARLES (BEAST DOME 2014)

Before I say anything about 2015, let us look at evidence from last season of what Jamaal Charles was able to put out for those Sheep Fantasy Football Owners.

Screen Shot 2015-08-25 at 12.09.21 PM

JAMAAL CHARLES 2015 BUST

First thing that stands out. Jamaal Charles is no longer a Running Back who is seeing 20+ Carries a game. Jamaal only saw 20 Carries or more three games last season. Week 13-Week 17, Charles averaged under 11 Carries a game and failed to rush for over 60 Yards in 4 of those 5 games. He also had a few cupcake matches in there with the Steelers/Chargers/Raiders.

Second thing that stands out. Jamaal Charles was not clutch combining for an average of 6 Fantasy Points in Standard Leagues against the Raiders and Steelers in the Fantasy Championship Week 15 & 16. For someone to be the #1 or #2 or even Top 5 RB and have them consistently get less than 15 carries, okay. If you think it is going to get better for the tiny lady bug in Jamaal Charles, you are delusional.

Third thing that stands out. Chiefs Offense is still garbage in 2015. While Jeremy Maclin was a nice upgrade over Dwayne Bowe, it is still Alex Smith at QB. The same Alex Smith that did not complete a TD pass to a WR nearly all season. The same Alex Smith that has ruined Dwayne Bowe and arguably Michael Crabtree. Alex Smith is not a good QB and the Chiefs offense will not be driving down the field scoring 28+ Points a game. Even 17+ would be very nice.

Last thing that stands out. The Chiefs this preseason have been featuring Knile Davis a lot. Knile believes he is better than Jamaal Charles if not on the same level at the very least, he may not be wrong. Jamaal Charles looks very small this preseason, did not put on weight, does not look like a stronger player from 2014. With the Chiefs not improving much on offense, and Knile Davis only getting better and more hungry, the Jamaal Charles train is about to crash. Knile Davis only has a couple years left to prove he is worth that big NFL Contract, and he is worth it.

Conclusion. Drafting Jamaal Charles is equivalent to writing a Fantasy Football Suicide note before the season even starts. You are letting everyone know that you are donating your money to the Pot and that you will be having a lot of Sundays where you yell at your TV regarding how bad Alex Smith is, or Knile Davis vulturing key Fantasy Points throughout the season. Jamaal Charles and is his situation is looking so bad this season, I have him confidently ranked #15 with small upside of reaching Top 12 before the Preseason ends, or potentially falling all the way to #17 before the season starts. Mark Ingram will be scoring more Touchdowns this season than Jamaal Charles no questions asked at #14, and if you think Jamaal Charles will get way more touches to make up for it, read above.

Do you remember when I made the claim. Jamaal Charles would be the BUST of the 2014 season.

JAMAAL CHARLES – BLINDED BY THE LIGHT

The #1 pick in Fantasy Football leagues according to the Expert Consensus had only ONE game all season where he rushed for over 100 Yards.

Jamaal Charles played 2 more games than Arian and still had worst numbers. Keep in mind Arian played three games hurt and missed three others with various injuries (Still Finished #5 at RB). Jamaal finished with nearly 300 Yards less than Arian and nearly 350 Yards less than Marshawn Lynch my #2.

ARIAN FOSTER 2014 STATS

13 Games.

1,246 Rushing Yards.

1573 Total Yards. 13 TD. 38 Receptions.

SKYLLZONE Week 4 Busts

Frank Gore, RB, SF – SKYLLZONE ADP: 19.93

It is pretty evident that the days of Frank Gore are coming to an end, especially with a new back injury coming into play. This could be the last game Frank Gore puts up his value if he fails to impress his Fantasy owners. Time for Carlos Hyde.

Shane Vereen, RB, NE – SKYLLZONE ADP: 28

Shane Vereen is dealing with a shoulder injury and it is only Week 4. There is a long season ahead as the Patriots will try to limit the amount of hits Vereen takes this season as the Patriots plan a playoff run. If Monday night gets out of hand, Vereen is done early.

C.J. Spiller, RB, BUF – SKYLLZONE ADP: 34.8

Fell in love with a Spiller. This is a RB/Kick Returner who has the skills to BEAST, but the playing time to be a BUST. Fred Jackson is clearly viewed as the go-to RB in this offense with seniority over C.J. Spiller. Look somewhere else for RB.

Joique Bell, QB, DET – SKYLLZONE ADP: 39.7

Being a power RB against the Jets defensive line is a quick way to put up a bad week. Joique Bell will not be able to use his strength against the Jets who already shut down Eddie Lacy and Matt Forte in back-to-back weeks.
