NFL SEASON PREDICTIONS

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

Last season I predicted the Superbowl matchup from Day 1.  Enjoy my reasoning below as I predict what happens this 2014 season.

MUNTRADAMUS 2013 NFL SEASON PREDICTION

Before I send you off, just wanted to let you know that this season there will be plenty of content on BEAST DOME daily.  The reason why BEAST DOME felt like the forgotten child this offseason is because of the booming business Muntradamus.NET went through this preseason.  The VIP program was a huge success as it x6 the production from last season.  Looking forward to a great 2014 season that will change the game.

2014 MUNTRADAMUS PREDICTIONS

AFC EAST

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (13-3)

MIAMI DOLPHINS (7-9)

NEW YORK JETS (6-10)

BUFFALO BILLS (4-12)

Patriots have this division easily.  Tom Brady is in Hall-Of-Fame form and will have the Patriots winning game after game.  Patriots defense got a lot better with Brandon Browner and Darrelle Revis in the secondary.

Dolphins offense will struggle at times, but their defense remains one of the most underrated in the NFL.  If the Dolphins offense starts to click, this team could sneak into a .500 season.

The New York Jets would be much better off starting the season with Michael Vick.  Geno Smith will have the job for at least half of the season until the team really starts to falter.  Jets defense has holes, the offense is not consistent enough to dominate.

The Bills have no QB, and when you have no QB you cannot win.  EJ Manuel keeps this offense from scoring 28 Points nearly every game he is the starter.  There will be times when the Bills defense will need help, for the most part everything is riding on that unit.

AFC NORTH

BALTIMORE RAVENS (9-7)

CINCINNATI BENGALS (7-9)

PITTSBURGH STEELERS (7-9)

CLEVELAND BROWNS (4-12)

The Baltimore Ravens are the leaders in the AFC North with a revitalized passing game.  Steve Smith will spark the offense and Ray Rice returns to 2012 form, defense is always fierce for Baltimore.

Bengals will take a step back in their offense with Jay Gruden gone.  The defense is a bit overrated, but they get the job done more often than not.

The Steelers look to be on the verge of good season, or the verge of a bad one.  The defense is young with proven veterans, the offense is young with proven veterans.  Should mesh well, but at the times there could be inconsistency from the group.

The Browns were screwed this season with the Josh Gordon situation.  The offense will really lack his stardom and the Browns have to learn everything over again quick now that they have to run all of their sets without Gordon in the mix.  Look for Miles Austin to be the player that makes or breaks this team.  If he can replace the shoes of Gordon, the team is saved.

AFC SOUTH

HOUSTON TEXANS (11-5)

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (10-6)

TENNESSEE TITANS (5-11)

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (3-13)

The Texans are the team to beat in the South.  With the 100% remodel of the team from coaching staff to QB from Clowney.  This team is ready to return to Superbowl form.

The Colts will have a tough stretch of games in the middle of the season which will really defy this team.  Andrew Luck will have to carry this squad if they want any chance of making the playoffs.  Defense has names, but can never seem to put it together.

The Titans have an improved team from last season despite the loss of CJ2K.  The defensive unit should be stronger than last year, and the upgrade of Justin Hunter makes this pass offense more dynamic than ever.  Of course CJ2K would enjoy this easy schedule, but the Titans will take the next step of being a team that misses the playoffs, once again.

The Jaguars will be a tough 3-13.  This team can compete with a lot of teams, but in the end it is hard to expect the Jaguars to win a lot of games.  The defense is much improved, but the loss of Maurice Jones-Drew for Toby Gerhart is a HUGE downgrade.  Bortles is the future of this team, he should get plenty of starts as he proves to be the next Matt Stafford.

AFC WEST

DENVER BRONCOS (13-3)

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (8-8)

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (6-10)

OAKLAND RAIDERS (4-12)

The Broncos are the strongest team in the AFC next to the Patriots.  Look for Peyton Manning to have a monster season and dominate the AFC once again.  Defense got a lot stronger with Aqib Talib/TJ Ward/DeMarcus Ware, and no suspension for Von Miller.

San Diego has the veteran of Phillip Rivers with a cast of offensive weapons that can make this team strong.  The defense struggles more often than not, but the Chargers find ways to win games.

The Chiefs are taking a big step back as the easy schedule from 2013 is now a mirage.  Reality hits as this team struggles to remind us that they won 12 games last season.

Oakland needs a new coach.  To name Carr the starting QB this late in preseason is going to send the entire chemistry off.  Matt Schaub worked with the first unit in all preseason games, now they are expecting Carr to have the exact timing despite the lack of PT with James Jones and others.  Defense has the names, the question is can they put it together?  So far they have been disappointing.

AFC PLAYOFFS 1st ROUND

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS @ HOUSTON TEXANS

Clowney is too dominant for the Chargers and creates big turnovers.  Arian Foster shred this Chargers defense.  Texans advance.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS @ BALTIMORE RAVENS

Ravens win this game with their home field advantage.  Ray Rice is too good for the Colts D on the road, Andrew Luck does not thrive in Baltimore enviorment.  Joe Flacco is on mission to put the Ravens deep in the playoffs.

AFC PLAYOFFS 2nd ROUND

HOUSTON TEXANS @ DENVER BRONCOS

Peyton Manning is too dominant for the Texans Secondary.  Arian Foster has a big game, but the Broncos D limits the TD’s and that is all that matters in the end.  Broncos win a close one and advance to AFC Championship.

BALTIMORE RAVENS @ NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Game is in New England which is a huge advantage for Brady.  The New England crowd comes to life and Brady is always the man when the Patriots are home in the playoffs.  Patriots advance with their defense and Tom Brady picking the Ravens secondary apart.

AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

DENVER BRONCOS @ NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

The Week 9 Game between the Broncos in New England ended with a Patriots win.  When it is all said and done, the Broncos turn to Montee Ball to grind this game against the Patriots, the Patriots D holds.  In return Tom Brady tries to be vintage in this cold game, but the Denver Secondary holds.

The difference in this game is Montee Ball.  The Patriots do not have a running game, and that will cost them in this one just like it cost them last season.

AFC CHAMPION

DENVER BRONCOS

NFC EAST

WASHINGTON REDSKINS (11-5)

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (8-8)

DALLAS COWBOYS (8-8)

NEW YORK GIANTS (3-13)

RGIII wins comeback player of the year as he leads the Redskins to a HUGE season.  Look for him to unlock historic numbers as he gets comfortable in the Jay Gruden offense quicker than everyone things.  Defense will bend and not break.

The Eagles are going to be a mystery as they try to figure out life without Desean Jackson.  The entire dynamic of this team is changed as Jeremy Maclin really is not a DEEP threat takes over as the go-to option.

The Cowboys will have an interesting season of HIGHS and LOWS.  Everyone is expecting disaster, but maybe this offense has enough juice to keep this team alive.

The Giants did not improve anything and in fact got a lot worse.  Rashad Jennings is a step down from Andre Brown, no more Hakeem Nicks or Justin Tuck.

NFC NORTH

GREEN BAY PACKERS (10-6)

DETROIT LIONS (9-7)

CHICAGO BEARS (8-8)

MINNESOTA VIKINGS (5-11)

Aaron Rodgers will return to MVP form as he leads the Packers in a no huddle offense.  Defense should improve with the addition of Julius Peppers to be on the opposite side of Clay Matthews.

Detroit will look to make the playoffs now that Stafford has a 2nd option in the passing game.  Lions pass rush will have to save this unit from getting into shootouts.

Chicago Bears will need Matt Forte to stay healthy all season for this team to be the team they need to be.  Jay Cutler will keep the passing game sharp, but the defense needs to prevent giving up the big plays.  The defensive unit is very aggressive and is prone to giving up huge 3rd down conversations easier than they should be.

Vikings are a better team than the 5-11 record indicates, just a tough schedule as every team in this division is playoff worthy besides them.

NFC SOUTH

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (12-4)

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (8-8)

ATLANTA FALCONS (8-8)

CAROLINA PANTHERS (5-11)

Drew Brees is ready to be MVP.  This offense will score more points than any team in the NFL.  Defense has it’s problems, but they get the job done more often than not.

The Bucs defense will keep this team competitive, and Doug Martin is ready for a huge bounce back season.  Josh McCown will lead the next best 1-2 punch in the NFL with V-Jax and Evans.  Team is ready to turn it up this season.

Atlanta will bounce back with a healthy Julio Jones and Steven Jackson.  Defense definitely has it’s problems, but the offense will be ready to compete in any game.

Cam Newton is ready to be the BUST of the year.  With no true weapons in the passing game outside of Greg Olsen and Kelvin Benjamin, the Panthers will need to rely on their defense.  Despite the good defensive unit, the Panthers offense will never put up enough points to remain a playoff threat.

NFC WEST

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (13-3)

ARIZONA CARDINALS (9-7)

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (8-8)

ST. LOUIS RAMS (5-11)

The Seahawks are ready to run away with the NFC West.  Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch remain too dominant for defenses to contain.  A healthy Percy Harvin makes this team dangerous.  The Seattle defense will always remains too good for this league, the loss of Browner does hurt a little.

Arizona’s offense looks better than their defense, which is saying a lot because their defense is what makes this team who they are.  A lot of the Cards success is riding on Carson Palmer’s shoulder as he has the best WR core he has ever had in sometime now that John Brown is in the mix.  Still not a fan of Ellington, but this defense mixed with Palmer will keep this team winning.

The 49ERS have 99 problems.  Colin Kapernick is not looking on his A game this preseason and the defense is suffering from injuries to suspensions.  Harbaugh is under scrunity and this is a team that is going to unravel when they have the Superbowl at their home stadium.  Too bad as everyone was expecting the opposite coming into 2014.

No Sam Bradford does limit the Rams win potential, but this defense does look nice on paper.  Hard to imagine the Rams winning the NFC West yet alone finishing in anything but last place.  No Kurt Warner/Trent Green story here with Shaun Hill, he will be good though.

NFC PLAYOFFS 1st ROUND

DETROIT LIONS @ GREEN BAY PACKERS

Too bad for Detroit that they have to play this game in Green Bay when it will be freezing cold.  Stafford is much more comfortable in the dome as Green Bay takes this one easily.

ARIZONA CARDINALS @ WASHINGTON REDSKINS

As amazing as it is that the Cardinals make the playoffs, they are easily eliminated by RGIII quickly.  Defense has no answer for all of the weapons of the Redskins as RGIII puts the team on his back at home.

NFC PLAYOFFS 2nd ROUND

GREEN BAY PACKERS @ SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Seattle is too good at home for Green Bay.  Just like Week 1 of the Thursday Night Football opener, Seattle comes out too strong for Green Bay and advances to the NFC Championship once again.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS @ NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

RGIII makes this one of the most exciting games.  In the end, the Saints offense is too potent and scores nearly everytime at home against the Redskins.  Saints win the game and advance to the NFC Championship.

NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS @ SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Once again these two teams meet in the playoffs.  Once again the Seahawks ride Marshawn Lynch who is too strong for the Saints to handle.  Marshawn carries the team into the Superbowl against the Broncos once again as they try to repeat as Champions.

NFC CHAMPION

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

SUPERBOWL  XLIX (SAN FRANCISCO)

DENVER BRONCOS VS. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Once agian these two teams meet in the Superbowl.  This time on the West Coast where the weather will help the Broncos.

The Broncos offense is too flawless for the AFC.  When you add in DeMarcus Ware/TJ Ward/Aqib Talib to go along with Von Miller for a full season.  The Broncos will be the best defensive unit in the NFL.  Something that you cannot say with confidence at all going into 2013.

The Seahawks offense scores consistently.  Their defense remains the face of the NFL as their secondary has too many ballhawks.

In this epic battle, Peyton Manning is ready this time.  The Broncos do not get ran out of the building like they did in 2013.  The defense comes up with big plays, Peyton Manning gets time to find his options in the passing game.  Montee Ball shows up and turns on his own BEAST MODE.

Von Miller tracks down Russell Wilson all game.  DeMarcus Ware makes his big stands while Aqib Talib shuts down Percy Harvin.

In the end.  Peyton Manning is victorious as him and Demaryius Thomas prove that Richard Sherman was too much hype going into 2014 as he gets burned for HUGE numbers in the big game.
