Fantasy TAKE ON THE NEW YORK GIANTS RB SITUATION

BEAST DOME NATION.

Welcome to the First article of the new BEAST DOME.  In this article we will evaluate the RB situation for the Giants, and in the end, have an outcome on who the winner will be.

THIS COULD HAVE ALL BEEN SOLVED HAD THE GIANTS PICKED UP WILLIS MCGAHEE IN WEEK 1

First let us meet our contestants.

PEYTON HILLIS

BRANDON JACOBS

DAVID WILSON

ANDRE BROWN

MICHAEL COX

We can start off this article by eliminating Michael Cox.  There are Running Backs in this NFL who can create on their own, and there are Running Backs who get what is blocked for them.

MICHAEL COX is a RB who cannot do either.

PEYTON HILLIS

Hillis looked slow, and it looked like any Linebacker in the NFL can tackle him with 1 arm if they really wanted to.  Hillis does not have explosion and he is only able to get the yards that were blocked for him.  The Madden 2012 Cover Boy is no longer a Fantasy Threat.  The TD was nice in Week 7, but that was probably the highlight of this season.

BRANDON JACOBS

Jacobs came back from the grave to rush for over 100 Yards against a banged up Bears Defense.  Had Jacobs been healthy, he would have received 20 Carries on Monday Night Football and possibly been the man for this Giants team for the time being.  The fact that it was a Hamstring injury, that is the worst news anyone could hope for.  Especially at his age, and the fact that he needs all the explosion he can get when he is breaking tackles.  This is an injury that will slow him down likely all season as the Hamstring injury is the worst injury for a Running Back to come back from.

DAVID WILSON

David Wilson cannot block.  If you cannot block, you better be an amazing Running Back.  David Wilson also lacks the Running back skils to be on the of the best in the league.  He does not have the ability to Break Tackles, and he is all Speed.  While his Speed does offer a lot of upside, he has not been hitting his Home Runs.  When Adam Dunn goes through slumps, you expect a HR eventually.  David Wilson has yet to hit that Homerun, and is now dealing with a neck injury that seems to put him in a very risky situation.

ANDRE BROWN

He is healing, he is running, and he is on pace to return in Week 10.  Andre Brown was a special Running Back in 2012 as he would score multiple TDs and be a great 3rd Down RB who can block.  He has power, and he has good enough speed.  He can catch, he can run.  When you add that all together, it sounds like you have a Running Back who can win you games.

Add to the equation that this team does not have a 3rd down RB after Ahmad Bradshaw left, and a Running Back who can do it all like Bradshaw.  Andre Brown is the closest and most proven thing this team has to all that.

CONCLUSION

When it is all said and done.  Andre Brown is the Running Back you want to own in Fantasy Football.  When he comes back, it is his job 100%.  The David Wilson experiment led to an 0-4 season.  Brandon Jacobs went 0-1.  Peyton Hillis is 1-0.  Andre Brown can turn this team around, and the season is not over for the New York Giants.  While the record may not have everything to do with the Running Back, Andre Brown gives the Giants everything they need; Speed/Blocking/Receiving/Ability to get the Tough Yards.

The other Running Backs are all 1 dimensional.

WINNER

ANDRE BROWN

It only costs for calls, and that’s cheap enough. I live in Australia and can call home for next to nothing.

  4. Hey BeastNation…who would you rather have as a fifth RB ROS…pierce, montee, mendenhall, or stewart? Thanks!

  5. What do you guys think about CJ Anderson taking Ronnie Hillman’s place? Is Montee Ball still the guy to own?
