Fantasy Football: WR Sleepers

BEAST DOME NATION.

Draft day is coming up, if you want me to sit in on the draft with you or be your assistant coach/secret weapon throughout the season check out the VIP packages.
Every season there are WR’s who were drafted late in your league that turn into startable options.  It is not always those late guys who you have to keep an eye on, but it is that group in the middle from 20-50 where you find the real gems.

MARQUES COLSTON – NO

MUNTRADAMUS RANK #6
ADP #17

Marques is not one of those guys from 20-50, but last season he finally found what it takes to be a consistent WR#1 option in all leagues.  Drew Brees will throw to him often with Robert Meachem now in SD.  Expect Colston to be a 100 reception WR when it is all said and done, and the nice thing about him is that he rarely faces double teams.

REGGIE WAYNE – IND

MUNTRADAMUS Rank #21
ADP # 29.

Wayne should have a big season now that Collie is about one big hit away from being done.  This is Reggie’s team and Luck will throw the ball to the big superstar.  Wayne should eclipse 1,000 Yards and 10+ TDs.

PIERRE GARCON – WAS

Muntradamus Rank #23
ADP #30

Pierre is a big play WR, and RG3 has already tagged him as the go-to-guy in that offense.  Expect Garcon to thrive as he will be the #1 WR for the first time.  His speed combined with RG3’s abilities to keep plays alive will result in some big TDs.

Santonio Holmes – NYJ

Muntradmus Rank #27
ADP #35

If there was ever a minor injury in training camp that made a player drop so much.  I would have to say it was Holmes’s rib injury.  This could be a special year for Santonio who is basically the only option the Jets have in the passing game.  Mark Sanchez and Holmes do not talk at all, but you know when Tebow is QB of that team there will be plenty of love.  Tebow made Demariyus Thomas great last season, Holmes could be in a similar situation.

JUSTIN BLACKMON – JAX

Muntradamus Rank #32
ADP #41

Justin Blackmon has Dez Bryant type potential.  The only problem is his QB is Blaine Gabbert.  Still Blackmon is good enough to be a player that you can depend on most weeks this season.  He is big, strong, fast, and really has the potential to be a top 15 option if everything goes to plan.  He may be inconsistent as a rookie, but the potential is there.

NATE WASHINGTON – TEN

Muntradamus Rank #33
ADP #45

Jake Locker had a man crush on Nate, and with Kenny Britt coming in and out of games all season long, I expect Nate to see enough targets that will make him well worth how late you can get him as a backup.  Not someone I would want to start reguarly until Britt is OUT.

DANNY AMENDOLA – STL

MUNTRADAMUS RANK #38
ADP # 60

Danny will be the go-to-guy for the Rams this season.  He had over 80 catchers in 2010, and unfortunately for him broke his arm in week 1 of last season.  With no WR stepping up to be the guy, Danny will reclaim his spot.  Not a guy to trust every week, but he will be a great bye week filler.

BRANDON LAFELL – CAR

MUNTRADAMUS RANK #39
ADP #52

LaFell is working a lot with Cam Newton while Steve Smith heals from his weird foot infection.  LaFell might not be great every week, but he brings you quality depth.  Likely the #3 passing option behind Smith and Olsen.

DEVERY HENDERSON – NO

MUNTRADAMUS RANK #45
ADP #70

Devery is a deep burner who was used to switching off hot weeks with Meachem.  Now that Meachem is gone, Henderson can breathe for the first time.  He is still the #4 target on the team behind Graham, Colston, and Moore.  Just keep in mind it only takes two big plays from Henderson to have a double digit week.

  1. Hey munstradamus. New member here. Much love. I think we did pretty good in our draft. I had the 11th pick out of 12 snake. Just wondered if you could give me brief evaluation of how we did.
    1) D. Mcfadden
    2) D. Murray
    3) Vick
    4) Steve Smith
    5) Miles Austin
    6) Stevie Johnson
    7) Nate Washington
    8) Jason Witten

im forgetting the exact order after this but my backups are

    qb- jack locker
rb- kevin smith, bernard scott, pierre thomas, brandon jacobs
wr- sidney rice, steve smith (stl)
    te- brent celek
and i got Alex Henery (phi k) and Minnesota’s defense for week 1

debating on dropping a rb to pick up taiwan jones (oak) in free agency if he’s oak’s #2 backup. mike goodsen was drafted. whata ya think?

    thanks for your time,
    playasgetchose

  2. I just drafted in a 16 team league and it was ppr. It was not one of my better drafts, so I need big advice! I was looking to trade vick for a downgrade at quarterback, but a safer quarterback, and a upgrade at another position. I was also thinking about trading foster and green-ellis for lesean mccoy and fred jackson, or foster and holmes for mccoy and greg jennings..anyways heres my team let me know your thoughts, thanks again your the best!

    Michael Vick
    Arian Foster
    Benjarvous Green-Ellis
    Brandon Marshall
    Santonio Holmes
    Aaron Hernadez
    Jacquizz Rodgers
    Alex Henery
    Minnesota Vikings
    Bench
    Danny Amendola
    Nate Washington
    Ben Tate
    Russel Wilson
    Bernard Scott
    Isiah Pead

  3. Hey why not try and trade Russell Wilson while is a hot item, try and snag maybe Schaub who was a top 5 QB before he got hurt last year. Nate and Danny are both okay, Amendola is going to get some decent play but Nate will get more as Locker likes Nate.

  4. PAGC Welcome to the DOme.

Getting McFadden at #11 was a steal.
Smith and Austin in round 4/5 was great value.
Vick is good, a bit scary with this injury proneness, but amazing when out there.

Like your RBs, depth is solid especially if Scott gets the job in Cincy. I would have drafted a RB in round 7 over Nate Washington. Rice has the potential to be just as good if not better.
Celek/Witten is a great TE Combo.
Nice getting Henery to combine with Vick.

If you want to drop Brandon Jacobs for Jones you can do that, If you want someone who will play sooner than later, I like Bilal Powell.

Solid team, your team is injury prone however at many positions.

    QB – VICK (always injured)
    RB – MCFADDEN (always injured)
    WR – AUSTIN (hammy)
WR – Smith (Foot, should be fine)
    TE – Witten (Spleen)
    RB3 – Kevin Smith (ankle)

Just hope for a long healthy season.

  5. Alright, I had #2 pick in a 10 team snake league. I’ll take any evaluation and any tips :)

    3.Stephen Jackson
    4.Marques Colston
    5.Aaron Hernandez
    6.Dwayne Bowe
    7.Pierre Garcon
    8.Santonio Holmes
    9.Shonne Green
    10. Jacquizz Rodgers
    11. Beanie Wells
    12. Matt Bryant
    13. Green Bay Def.
    14. Lance Moore
    15. Josh Freeman
    16. Brandon Lafell

    We play H2H with:
    1QB
    3WR
    2RB
