Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: This Is Like a Flashback (Week 12)

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire:

This Is Like a Flashback (Week 12)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

Week 11. Was a tough one for some Fantasy Football Owners.  A majority of the BEAST DOME originals from the start of the Fantasy Football Season have Willis on their team.  Hopefully you were able to hold onto Ronnie Hillman who I mentioned was a Handcuff in every Fantasy Football Haiku article.  Even mentioned earlier in the year to add him(Week 4). Below are some people that can help soften the blow.

For you Gronkowski owners.  Backs are against the wall as Gronk was likely a huge center piece to your team that depended on his stable production.  Below I give you some options that can bring you back.

Remember.  We always have each other to help us Win The Championship.

BEAST DOME NATION: FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP JOURNEY WEEK 12

PLAYERS TO ADD FOR WEEK 12

QB

JAKE LOCKER – QB – TEN

While Jake has not impressed anyone with his passing ability in his first game back. Jake is the man when it comes to moving the ball with ease.  Against a Jaguars defense that just made Matt Schaub look like God Sunday.  You can do a lot worst than playing Jake as a desperation play.

RYAN FITZPATRICK – QB – BUF

Fitzpatrick had a bad game Thursday Night against the Dolphins because the weather was very cold. That is not the best excuse for Fitzpatrick, but I tried.

This week he goes to a dome to play a Colts defense that is very thin in their secondary.  While it will likely be the C.J. Spiller show if Fred Jackson does not play, there is still a chance Fitzpatrick surprises you with a good performance.

CHAD HENNE – QB – JAX

Remember that terrible QB on the Dolphins that made Brandon Marshall a borderline WR#1/WR#2 when they played together.  Chad Henne..

Well now he is one of the MVPs of the Week 11 Fantasy Football season with one of the worst offenses in the NFL.  He did it against a Texans Defense that is one of the best in the NFL led by the best defensive coordinator. The traveling circus will play the Titans next week, a good matchup.

But in life when you play with Jaguars, they will rip your head off in more ways than one.  The same could happen to you if you start one.

RB

JAMES STARKS – RB – GB

Every Fantasy Football Website was telling you to add Alex Green when Cedric Benson got injured. BEAST DOME was the only website that told you to get James Starks no matter what.  Those owners who listened, they will be rewarded.

RONNIE HILLMAN – RB – DEN

I have been telling everyone here on BEAST DOME in every single Fantasy Football Haiku that Ronnie Hillman is a pure handcuff to McGahee.

Hopefully you listened and had your handcuff, because now the shifty RB will be the main man for the Broncos the rest of the season.  He has a lot of growing up to do, but it is growing up that he is ready for. Lance Ball will jump in from time-to-time with 3rd downs, but the Broncos want Hillman to be their man.

JALEN PARMELE – RB – JAX

If you need a one week flier at RB.  Look no further then adding Parmele who offers low-end RB#2 value. While the Jags offense put up points like one of the leagues best, they will have a lot to prove in Week 12 against the Titans.  This should be a good game for them, but never put too much faith in Jacksonville. You can put faith in Parmele if you are on the edge of desperateness. Maurice Jones-Drew should return next week or the week after to re-claim his job.

BILAL POWELL – RB – NYJ

Remember when he was the Talk of BEAST DOME. Well this is the first time since Week 3 Powell got over 10 carries.  While in a perfect world the Jets can continue to do that, but the only reason it worked this week was because they were winning. It is interesting that Powell did handle redzone work, which for now is a minor to blow to Shonn Greene owners.  Keep an eye on the situation as this can change very quickly.

BRYCE BROWN – RB – PHI

While it is entirely possible LeSean McCoy returns next week. This is a good reminder to get the backup of the RB who is your star player.  A good example is to add Evan Royster if you are a Alfred Morris owner. If Bryce gets the start, he will give you RB#3 value at best with this offensive line.

WR

JUSTIN BLACKMON – WR – JAX

Can you say Rookie Of The Year? Okay that is pushing it, but this was by far the best performance from a Jaguars player that anyone can remember.  Blackmon doubled his 10 game career in one week.  This preseason he was showing promise as catching a TD looked easy.  Finally it translated on Sunday with a backup QB.  You can add Blackmon in all leagues, he is still a WR#3, with #2 upside. Looking better now then it did two weeks ago, this is a big prove it game coming this week.

JULIAN EDELMAN – WR – NE

Edelman reminded us why he was in the Waiver Wire so early in the season.

Julian will be vital to the Patriots passing attack with Gronk likely out for the next month and possibly rest of the regular season.  He is a stronger version of Wes Welker who can do special things.  Julian will likely see his 5-7 Targets each week but is quickly becoming just as relevant as Mr.Bust himself Brandon Lloyd. Julian is a great add in all leagues.  WR#2 potential, right now WR#3.

PIERRE GARCON – WR – WAS

Pierre is back.

He was a top 30 WR in most pre-draft rankings, and he should be added in all leagues.  Pierre caught all three of his targets for a total of 5 Yards.  Things will get better sooner than later, he could sneak into WR#2 value by Week 15.  RGIII is desperate for a WR to step up.

BRANDON LAFELL – WR – CAR

I put him on this last week, hopefully you listened. Below is what I wrote, he is a WR#4 with #3 upside.

“Oh no he didn’t. Oh yes I did.  Brandon LaFell is softly back on the Fantasy Radar with Cam Newton having a matchup against a semi-good matchup against a Bucs team that does give up passing numbers.  While LaFell is anything far from a safe start, he is good for the extremely desperate as his concussion problems is a thing of the past.”

TE

JERMICHAEL FINLEY – TE – GB

All it takes is one TD to jump on the Finley bandwagon.  He was one of my calls of the week, hopefully you were able to put him in your lineup if you were desperate for a TE.  He caught all three of his targets meaning he will likely see more next week. Keep in mind things will get dicey when Greg Jennings returns.

DALLAS CLARK – TE – TB

Dallas was off to a slow start as the Bucs were getting used to their news toys in Vincent Jackson and Doug Martin.  Now that everyone is situated, Dallas Clark is turning into quite the option since Week 7 when he complained about his role. Clark now has TDs in back-to-back games and is coming off of his strongest performance of the season with 7 receptions/58 yards/1 TD.  Clark is a good add.

K

Rankings are not finalized. There will be a sleeper on your waiver wire when the Rankings are done.

D/ST

You can start picking and choosing from this list.

If you want a good one week option.

RAMS – D/ST – STL

It does not matter that Beanie Wells is returning to this game.  If the Cardinals go with Ryan Lindley at QB, there will be turnovers.  As soon as the Cardinals trail and have to go into pass mode, the Points will be coming quickly for the Rams Defense.

Thank you all for participating in the BEAST DOME NATION. Together we win Championships.

  1. Love the articles and analysis. Thanks for all of the hardwork and effort you put in to these for the “nation.” Happy Thanksgiving!

ROS, choose Edelman or T.Y. Hilton off the waiver? I have Reggie Wayne and Donnie Avery as part of my WR group along with Colston, Garcon, DX, and Floyd. I need high end, high points flex player.

  2. Lost Gronk in two keeper leagues. Trying to make a trade this week for anything in one, but the other had the trade deadline last week.

Myers from OAK and Dallas Clark are available in both leagues, who do you like better for the rest of the season?

I have Freeman as a backup in both leagues with an eye on starting him against NO in the playoffs.

  3. Depends on if you really need one of them for this week to help you win and put you over the top. If that’s that case, I say go for Edelman. If this is a flyer pick, I say go with Blackmon. The switch may or may not have come on for him this past week. If it did come on, then he has a great end of season schedule and Henne definitely was not afraid to throw his way.

  4. I think some good adds this week are: Henne, Danario Alexander, and T.Y. Hilton. Those three players look juicy to me this week as I some what need a qb in one league and I am looking for a widereceiver to replace the extremely disappointing steve smith. I actually really like Colin Kaepernick too I hope he continues over Alex Smith, he is a bum. Let me know if this helps anyone or if anyone has some input on my ideas!
