FANTASY FOOTBALL WAIVER WIRE:

A Crab Walks Into A Tree (WEEK 11)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

Everywhere, and I Mean everywhere.  All sites are telling people to scoop up Mr. Michael Crabtree.  The Receiver who was some how drafted after Darrius Heyward-Bey in the 2009 NFL Draft.   While it may be appealing to pickup Crabtree who was a favorite target of Colin Kaepernick.  I would not go out of the way to break up any core players to get him.

Fantasy Football WW 11

MICHAEL CRABTREE – WR – SF

Crabtree is coming off of an Achilles injury, easily the hardest injury to come back from.  He has not set return date, but is expected back in action later this month.  Let us hypothetically say he comes back to play December 1st, the question is.  Will you start him?

WEEK 13 vs. STL

Crabtree returns against the Rams.  While this matchup looks good on paper, the 49ers will likely ease Crabtree back into his role.  On top of that, this game will be a blowout before Crabtree gets the chance to contribute for your team.

WEEK 14 vs. SEA

There is no way you trust Crabtree in the first round of the Fantasy Football Playoffs, especially against Seattle.

WEEK 15 @ TB

He likely will not see Revis Island much, but do you really start him at this critcial juncture of the season without him performing up to this date?  The answer is..No.

WEEK 16 VS. ATL

You made it to the Championship in your Fantasy Football Season.  While Crabtree does have a favorable matchup, the fact is, he did not get you to the Championship.  There is another WR, or a WR on your bench who had a big game that has the matchup you really want to go with.  Either way, if Crabtree has done nothing up to this point, why risk your Championship on Mr. Crab.

WEEK 17 @ ARI

For those leagues that keep going until Week 17.  This matchup does not look good on paper, Kaepernick struggles against the Cardinals too often to trust him this late in the season.  Like I said, you probably made it this far with other WRs, at least 2-3 WRs you like on your team more than Crabtree.

CONCLUSION

Let Crabtree walk to the other teams on the Wire.  He is not even close to worth a move, unless your team is depending on Percy Harvin as your #2 WR and you have nothing else behind that.

DILEMMA

RAINEY VS. LEONARD

Winner

BOBBY RAINEY – RB – TB

Brian Leonard is going to be involved a lot, but Rainey has the CJ Spiller type of speed that makes him interesting.  While a CJ Spiller comparison may be giving him too much credit, he is worth a stash now that Mike James is out for the season.  Brian Leonard is an okay stash as well, both rankings are reflected in the rankings up top.

RB STASH OF THE WEEK

MARK INGRAM – RB – NO

He is looking stronger and faster than ever.  He still has Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles ahead of him on the depth chart, but Ingram is one injury away from being close to a RB#2.

  1. I just accepted a trade this morning…I traded away Ridley and Cruz, I’m getting back lesean McCoy…ppr league, good trade or bad? My other Rbs are jamaal and cj2k…my other Wrs are Marshall, Demarois Thomas, Dobson and Kendall wrigjt

  2. tough trade, depends what the rest of your team looks like. the only way that trade hurts you is if somehow Eli remembers to throw the ball and Cruz becomes the salsa dancer we know so well. its only been one game, but Brady may have found his stuff again and may go off limiting ridleys production.

  3. Good trade for sure, now you have McCoy and Charles as your starting RBs, and you still have Marshall and D Thomas as your starting WRs. Doesn’t get much better than that.

  4. Any thoughts on Chris Ogbonnaya… PPR sleeper or RBBC the rest of the way? I took a chance on Reece last year and it paid off huge so I am wondering if OBI has the same potential….

  5. Whats up Beastnation. I have Romo/McCown as my qbs. Someone just dropped Dan Bailey and Robbie Gould to waivers. I have Matt Prater though. Should I just continue to roll with Prater or add Bailey or Gould. Thoughts?

  6. yes… a lot of people have the password, but it’s something you’ll have to pay to get. For sheer respect of Mr. Munt’s time and effort, you too should pay to support him. Advice doesn’t grow on trees you know.

  7. If I could I would keep Prater and add Bailey…the cowboys will find themselves in higher scoring games and closer games too! Also, Bailey will have better weather to kick in during playoff stretch…that’s my thoughts/opinion…good luck

  8. Okay. Yeh I was kind of leaning towards just adding bailey anyway…cant go wrong with bailey or prater. Thanks Michael!

  9. I have tried paying for VIP but was having technical issues…Munt himself emailed me his last password;; due away with the cliche sarcasm “tacosandwich,” where all fellow fantasy leaguers hear with respect for one another and Appreciative of Munts knowledge….beside taco…it’s not like where in the same league competing against each other so chill

  10. You’e hardly readable. “Where” is a preposition… as in “Where in the world were you when they taught spelling in school.” “We’re” is the contraction you think you are using, the combination of “we” and “are”… as in “We’re all tired of people who can’t write correctly!” And asking for a password over a public site is pure ignorance!

  11. Waiting for the playoffs with: Brady, Jamaal, McCoy, CJ2K, Brandon Marshall, Demaryius Thomas, Gronk, and Mason Crosby

Bench: Eli, young Montee, Donald brown, jacquizze in yo face, Kendall two wrongs “don’t” make a wright, and play with my Fleener

Idp and ppr league so I roll with Navarro Bowman and Laron Landry….F U “scary monster,” relax its hasty comments…this English professor wants to be grading everybody…who does that…loser bro!
