Fantasy Football Strategy Special: Kamikaze RBs

Fantasy Football Strategy Special:

Kamikaze RBs

BEAST DOME NATION.

A Year ago to this Sunday (Week 11).  I made a Bold Prediction.

I told everyone on Rotoworld Forums and all different Viral ways, to add Detroit Lions Backup RB Kevin Smith if you needed a ticket into the playoffs. There are some people on this website to this day because of that call.

He was owned in only 5% of Sportsline Leagues, it was the furthest thing from expected as Maurice Morris was the starter everyone owned/started.

That Sunday Kevin Smith blew up for 200+ Yards and 3 TDs.

Fantasy Football

This website *MaddenArena.com* went from a place where people could illegally play Madden for Money (And Fantasy Football Advice). “Nobody Ever Played A Game Of Madden.”  To a website that offered Fantasy Football Advice, and nothing else.

It bleed right into Basketball not skipping a beat.  It then went straight into Baseball. Not missing One Day.

Now we have made Full Circle, and this article I am going to Feature 3 RBs who I told you all to grab over the other popular choice this season.

These are players that can carry you into the Playoffs.  KAMIKAZE RBS.

KAMIKAZE RBS = Player That Will Get You Into The Playoffs.

*Then Likely be destroyed when the original Starter comes back.

JAMES STARKS – RB – GB

OWNED IN 38% OF LEAGUES

When Cedric Benson went down.  Every website told you jump on Alex Green as if the Gold Mine of all Gold Mines just ended up on the Waiver Wire. *FANTASYPROS ARTICLE

BEAST DOME told you to go after James Starks.

While there is no doubt Alex Green has been the better RB to own up to this point, he likely hurt you more than helping as he failed to score a TD or rush for over 70 Yards as a starter.  He has no big play ability and averaged less than 3.0 YPC against the Jaguars of all teams.

While Starks does not have the best matchups.  He should start to see enough carries to the point where he could give you low-end RB#2 numbers with upside.  STARKS IS MUST-OWN.

*Cedric Benson may not come back Week 14.  He is not close to 100% and does not want to rush it.

MARCEL REECE – RB – OAK

OWNED IN 89% OF LEAGUES

Marcel Reece was always a player that I watched closely.  Even before the McFadden injury he was one of the featured players in my Week 9 Picks of the Week.

As soon as McFadden was injured, I told everyone to immediately add Reece over Goodson before the high-ankle sprain was reported.

When it was between Reece and Jones for Week 10.  I gave Reece a good sized cushion favoring him.

Now with McFadden injured missing a great matchup against the Saints, Marcel Reece can easily be your one-week savior.  As long as he gets 20 Touches against the Saints defense, good things can happen.  Keep in mind the Saints D is a bit improved with Jonathan Vilma back as the MLB.

*Darren McFadden’s injury is a 2-4 Week injury.  With Run DMC’s injury history, a 4 Week injury is possible. Reece offers RB#1 quality potential, but is more of a solid RB#2.

JACQUIZZ RODGERS – RB – ATL

OWNED IN 57% OF LEAGUES

3 for 17.

That is Michael Turner’s conversation rate from inside the 10 Yard Line scoring TDs.

Last week he was stuffed three times at the 1 Yard Line. Monday Night against the Broncos earlier in the season he was stuffed a total of 4 times.

JacQuizz is not a great RB. If he was half-way decent, he would have the job by now.  But he is good in space, and in this matchup the Falcons will be much more dangerous if JacQuizz is featured more than Turner.

Of course Turner can turn back the clock on the most random weeks, but chances are Quizz will start seeing more consistent touches.

JacQuizz is one of the cover boy sleepers for BEAST DOME.  His season is not over yet.

*Michael Turner has to start being more consistent if the Falcons are going to trust him full-time. Look for Quizz to start inching more and more into the starting role and Quietly move his way into Low-End RB#2 quality.

  1. Should I drop Rashad Jennings for James Starks? I have Reggie Bush, Darren Sproles, Fred Jackson, Felix Jones, and of course Jennings.

  2. drop jennings 100% for starks…we’ve seen what jennings can do with the ball and it not impressive…Starks has a lot more upside plus hes playing for a better offense

  3. A little out of context but I’ve been offered a trade: Send J. Charles (featured in this weeks sell high) and AJ Green for Lesean Mccoy , Steve Smith (buy low this week) and Larry Fitz…. I’m 6-4 and on the verge of making the playoffs but Charles inconsistency either leads me to a victory or a loss each week.

  4. I need a RB for tomorrow. Joique Bell, Chris Ivory, Vick Ballard, M Ingram, and James Starks are available in a 1 pt PPR league.

  5. This week def roll with fitzy, the cards have to look his way a lot to try to keep up with the falcons, while amendola faces cromartie and the jets in a game that should be low scoring

  6. Bell could be a sneaky play in what should be a pass happy game vs GB…otherwise id go with starks

  7. Any idea who I should start? I’ve got Felix Jones, Marcel Reece and Alfred Morris lined up to go. in a PPR league. I only need two.

  8. So I already own Reese and Starks. I also have Steven Jackson….

Thinking about cutting Starks this week for the SJAX handcuff, Darryl Richardson. Not playing Starks unless SJAX goes down, and figure Richardson would be better off anyway in that event.

    GOOD or BAD call?

  9. If you can, wait until today is over. Starks is a bit of an unknown right now as far as his value moving forward. Unless sjax goes down today, richardson should continue to be available. You might end up dropping a quality starter for a backup.
The other side is if your other starter goes down, starks will be a viable replacement whereas richardson wont be…

  10. should we add Hilman?? latest report has McGahee out 6-8 weeks, torn MCL, broken leg.
    Drop McGahee for Hilman?

  11. Benson? He’s looking at a Week 15 return, GB has Tenn Week 16, Starks would have CHI week 15, trade up end of Week 14?

  12. PRO TIP Munt and Nation:::
Losing McGahee sucks. The dude had 55 yards in the 2nd q yesterday when he went down. Now everyone and their mom is going to be telling you to go after Hillman on waivers.. The rookie has shown a little so far this year but he’s too light and inexperienced to carry the load. Broncos also have Lance Ball but he is merely a special teamer and a reliever.

As a bronco scholar I can assure you the guy to get this week is KNOWSHON Moreno. Forgot about him?? He’s been labeled a bust for not living up to his draft position but, similar to Chris Ivory, he’s been mysteriously stashed away at the bottom of the depth chart. Hes fresh and hungry and will be playing for respect. He looked strong, fast and agile in preseason. If he can manage to get into Peyton’s good graces he will be a formidable weapon in screens and check downs.

I expect the other guys to get some more burn and not have such a lead dog as it has been. But trust me on this, Knowshon is the only starter left in the stable and IMHO has much greater upside than guys like Starks, Quiz or Bryce Brown. (Lost McCoy this week too D:)
