Fantasy Football:
Rookies That Will Make A Fantasy Impact (2012)

BEAST DOME NATION.

Each season there are few rookies who pop out of nowhere to be saviors of your fantasy football season.  This year, the rookie class has what it takes to make that kind of impact.

WILL MAKE AN IMPACT FROM WEEK 1

DOUG MARTIN – RB – TB

Doug Martin is my sleeper pick to win rookie of the year in the Fantasy Football world.  The Bucs have already tabbed him as the next Ray Rice, and the only thing standing in his way of being Ray Rice is the out of shape Ron Dayne clone, LeGarrette Blount.  Martin is a great value pick as he could play like a top 10 RB by the end of the sesaon.

ANDREW LUCK – QB – IND

He may not be as flashy as RGAdidas, but he does have the gun to have consistent 300+ Yard performances.  The Colts have the weapons Luck needs to have a breakout season.  Bruce Arians as  the OC for the Colts will only help Luck reach the next level quickly.

ROBERT GRIFFIN III – QB – WAS

RG3 is in prime position to have a stellar season, the only problem is the Redskins have a very tough schedule.  RG3 will give you great rushing totals that could near Cam Newton for a fraction of the price.  He is leaning on Pierre Garcon almost exclusively this preseason, I would take him with confidence as a middle of the pack QB#2.

JUSTIN BLACKMON – WR – JAX

The Jaguars need a playmaker desperately at the WR position, so insert Blackmon who has the potential to be the next Dez Bryant.  Blackmon should be the go-to-WR in the Jackonsville game plan from Week 1.  Just be aware that Blaine Gabberet is his QB, so expectations can be limited.  They did hook up for a TD in the preseason already.

TRENT RICHARDSON – RB – CLE

The Browns are ready to be the worst team in the NFL this season.  Trent Richardson already has bad legs which gives me a huge red flag to avoid him in all drafts.  He will still be the workhorse of this Browns offense all season long, but I would much rather take the safe veteran than spend any top 20 RB pick on this guy.  The Browns have a tough schedule, and he could be shutdown to preserve him for a fresh season in 2013.

RANDY BULLOCK – K – HOU

Looking for the next Dan Bailey, or Alex Henery?  Bullock is your guy if he can lock down the job in Houston.  The Texans are giving him every chance he can in the preseason, and despite missing a FG in his last game, he is still their man.  Randy has the leg to kick long FGs, and with the Texans looking for an easy 10+ win season, Bullock should be a top 10 Kicker in the fantasy world.

WILL MAKE IMPACT BY WEEK 8

DAVID WILSON – RB – NYG

Ahmad Bradshaw knows his time is ticking with the far more electric David Wilson.  The ankle surgeries, the hand contusion, the seeing David run with the 1st team offense are all telling signs that this transition will come much sooner than later.  Draft Bradshaw knowing that he will only be your guy for about half a season.  Wilson is the real deal.

BRIAN QUICK – WR – STL

The Rams need a big play WR in the same way Jacksonville did.  They may have not put their hands around Justin Blackmon, but Brian Quick has the chance to be that man in the Rams offense.  Sam Bradford wants a WR who can stretch the field, and although he is not Brandon Lloyd, Quick is a big target who has great speed.  He could be the #1 WR in STL by week 8.

COBY FLEENER – TE – IND

Fleener was the TE for Andrew Luck in Stanford, and now he becomes possibly a big sleeper in the fantasy football world for his future owners.  The Colts may need Fleener to set up earlier than ever with Austin Collie suffering his 3rd concussion.  You already know Luck trusts him, so when will you?  Probably after he scores a TD in opening week.  Either way, he is a good guy to grab late in your draft.
