FANTASY FOOTBALL RANKINGS:

BEAST DRAFT STRATEGY  (Vol. II)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

We are now officially at Draft Weekend 2013.  I have been playing in Fantasy Drafts everyday since my latest BEAST DRAFT STRATEGY.  Now I have perfected my ways of drafting, and I am here to share you my secrets on what I have learned.  First of all, the theory on drafting a QB early is now dead.  It is too vital to get those superstar RBs with the way QBs are falling.  Eli Manning/RGIII/Russell Wilson are now #11/#12/#13 in most drafts.  Those guys can get it done.

BEASTcast – TEST (PRE-DRAFT WEEKEND SPECIAL)

BASEBALL TESTIMONIAL FROM A V.I.P THIS SEASON

– Fairballs
This is my second season doing fantasy baseball VIP with Muntradamus, and again, I am beyond happy with what VIP has to offer.

So far this season i’ve held a steady 1st place in my league. This can be attributed mostly to Muntradamus’ help. My weakness in
fantasy baseball has always been the draft. Through Skype’s screen sharing feature, Muntradamus sat with me during my 2+ hour draft. He advised me during every single pick. The help with draft alone was worth the VIP fees(I would never have drafted Chris Davis on my own).
Every day since, Muntradamus has made himself available for feedback. If i have concerns with my team, i look for him on Google chat, or just e-mail him my questions. I always know i can count on him giving me great advice.

Everyone who plays fantasy sports needs to know that Muntradamus is the real deal when it comes to fantasy advice.
Here is an e-mail response from Muntradams when I saw my team slipping a little last week

PLAYERS TO TARGET

ROB GRONKOWSKI – TE – NEP

He is now going in the 4th Round of Fantasy Football Drafts.  That is a joke as we all know he will be back by Week 3.  On top of that, Gronk would be a 1st Round Pick if he came into this season healthy.  How can you not be excited about Gronk/Brady with no more Welker and Hernandez.

Come Fantasy Playoff time, he will be a BEAST that nobody wants to mess with.

IF you miss on Gronk in Round 4.  The TE Strategy is to grab Fred Davis and Julius Thomas late.  Fred Davis looks 100% and can easily be the #1 Target for RGIII.  Julius Thomas has no competition at TE in Denver, he is the second coming of Martellus Bennett.

REGGIE BUSH – RB – DET

Remember Marshall Faulk when the Rams were the ‘Greatest Show On Turf’?  I mentioned that I saw this a lot in Week 2 of the preseason, but now we have seen enough to the point where it is obvious.  Reggie is going to be the obvious #2 in Targets with that team, draft him this season.

Reggie Bush is a Must-Own at his ADP Round 3 value.  He may even drop later, but I would grab him in Round 3.

JONATHAN STEWART – RB – CAR

Everyone is worried about Jonathan Stewart and that ankle.  He is going so late, you are deciding between Jonathan Stewart and Denarius Moore these days.  The Panthers have no obligation to play DeAnglo after he took next to nothing to return once he saw no love in free agency.

Target J-Stew late, he will be healthy eventually, and he can play like a RB#2.

MONTEE BALL – RB – DEN

I was in a Yahoo draft on Thursday.  The Rankings on Yahoo showed Montee as one of the lowest RBs, maybe #31 on the list.  I decided to wait until the end of the 6th Round in a 10 Team League, and Montee somehow fell to me.

This is ridiculous.. What have we seen from Hillman to believe Montee will not rip this job away from him.  If Montee does not do anything Saturday Night because the Broncos are so desperate to see Hillman do something, then you can wait around Round 5 to grab him.

In reality, he should be owned in Round 2.  You can argue 4th Round, but there is a good chance he falls to the 5th Round of your Fantasy Draft.

He will be the RB for Denver this season, and is arguably a Top 10 RB once that happens.  TDs galore.

MATT STAFFORD – QB – DET

Stafford is now being selected as the 8th QB off the board.  People must think Megatron is out for the season, because Stafford can get it done with any WR core in reality.  Megatron will be vicious this season now that they have a threat in Reggie Bush.  Remember how lethal Matt Stafford was with Kevin Smith back in 2011.  The Lions decided to go with power over speed, and it made their offense not nearly as dynamic.

Stafford is a steal as the 8th QB off the board.  Do not forget the QB/K Combo Strategy.

IF you miss on Stafford.  Wait until you are the last team to pick a QB.  Follow the Rankings at that point, there are 13 QBs who will consistently be Ranked in the Top 10 throughout the season.

DEMARCO MURRAY – RB – DAL

Murray is being drafted in 3rd Rounds of Fantasy Football Drafts.  Why is the question?

I have heard everything from people being afraid of his schedule, to injury prone.

First of all, Murray is a BEAST.  He has the potential for a huge season if Romo has a big season.  Romo has to have a big season or Jerry Jones will throw him in the middle of the forest.  All of the Cowboys weapons are healthy, and the offensive line is ready for a big season.

Most importantly, the NFC EAST is very weak this season.  Redskins were horrible in 2012, they are a little bit better but still weak in the secondary.  The Giants have no linebackers.  The Cowboys have no secondary.  The Eagles lost all of their talent from the ‘Dream Team’ season.

WR DRAFTING

Follow my Rankings.  No need to draft them early, there is plenty of talent that falls later.  A WR core of Anquan Boldin/Desean Jackson/Mike Wallace is possible if you wait until Round 6.

RB DRAFTING

If you go after a QB early, you are going to burn yourself in the running game more often than not.  QBs like Stafford/Romo/Eli/RG3/Wilson/Luck are going so late, it does not make sense to burn a high pick on your QB.

If you draft QB first, and your RB’s like Lamar Miller, Eddie Lacy start to fade.  One of your starters gets injured, and then another gets injured.  You are looking at a long season.  This is the season to go with this drafting strategy.

RB – Best on Board

RB – Best on Board

RB – Murray or Bush

GRONK or RB – Bush/Ball

RB or WR – Ball/Hakeem Nicks

WR – Desean Jackson

QB – Matt Stafford

WR – Anquan Boldin/Lance Moore

WR – Josh Gordon

QB/K COMBO STRATEGY
QB/K COMBO STRATEGY

TIER 1

1. PEYTON MANNING – QB – DEN (9)

Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker is one of the best WR duo’s in the league.  When you add Wes Welker to that collection, game over.  The offense is going to allow Peyton Manning to be the offensive coordinator..Peyton wants to set records with this crew, no reason not to.

2. AARON RODGERS – QB – GB (4)

Rodgers lost Greg Jennings to the Vikings, what he did gain is JerMichael Finley in a contract year to go with the second best 3 man WR crew in the NFL.  Look for Rodgers to use his legs and arm to be a dynamic QB that can easily lead the league in points.

3. DREW BREES – QB – NO (7)

The Saints still have a terrible defense.  Which means Drew Brees and that Saints offense will have to put up over 30 Points consistently.  Colston/Moore/Graham will all be solid fantasy options as Drew is the safest 4,500 Yards in the NFL.  Saints say they are going to run the ball more..maybe if it was 08′ and Deuce McAllister was the RB.  This is the Drew Brees show.

TIER 2

4. MATT RYAN – QB – ATL (6)

Whats cooler than being cool?  Matty Ice.  Ryan still has the best WR duo in the NFL with Roddy White and Julio Jones.  The Falcons added a BEAST in their backfield with Steven Jackson.  Safties cannot play so deep to defend the pass and only the pass.  Ryan is going to get plenty more opportunities for big plays.

5. TOM BRADY – QB – NE (10)

The tale goes, once you experience Tom Brady, you can’t go back.  With no Aaron Hernandez or Wes Welker, Tom is no longer the #1 QB we always expect.  Amendola/Gronk/Edelman still make up a solid WR crew.  But let’s be real, if Tony Romo was the QB of this squad it would be impossible to put him Top 5.  Brady can get it done with any group, just may be a little harder to get those monster numbers.

6. CAM NEWTON – QB – CAR (4)

Super Cam really turned it up at the end of last season playing like the 1st round pick we know he could be.  The Panthers are going with Don Schula as their head coach, which has led to a bromance between the star QB.  Something we never saw with Ron Rivera.  This offense is geared towards Cam being a super hero.

7. COLIN KAEPERNICK – QB – SF (9)

Colin is Jamie Fox from Any Given Sunday.  Nobody really likes him, but they all know he can dominate the game.  With the #1 Selling 2013 NFL Jersey, the controversy over the Dolphins hat, to winning an Espy for best breakthrough athlete.  He knows his time is now to win that Superbowl.

8. MATTHEW STAFFORD – QB – DET (9)

Stafford was plagued by not have a quality #2 WR in 2012.  Everyone and their mothers were dropping TDs left and right.  If Calvin Johnson missed a game, Stafford would be lucky to eclipse 200 Yards.  Not his fault, the Lions just do not have a quality #2 option.  So what did the Lions do?  Absolutely nothing but add Reggie Bush.  Reggie should be special, but that does not solve the problem of a quality downfield #2 WR.  Still Staff has the best arm in the NFL and could easily have a huge season.

TIER 3

9. ELI MANNING – QB – NYG (9)

The Giants running game is down to David Wilson and Andre Brown, which means Eli will put the ball in the air.  Hakeem Nicks is healthy, and he has a lot of room to make up for most improved player.  Victor Cruz was just paid this offseason, and he has a chip on his shoulder after missing the 1,200 Yard/10 TD season.  Brandon Myers is a slight downgrade from the big Martellus Bennett.

10. TONY ROMO – QB – DAL (11)

Romo still has the second best WR duo in the league of Austin Miles and Dez Bryant, along with star TE Jason Witten.  You put Tom Brady with that group, and Tom Brady is probably the #1 QB in 2013.  But this is Tony Romo, and Romo will make bad throws and fail when you need him the most.  The offense is going to try running the ball more this season, which they should.  But Romo will still get that 300 Yard/2 TD game more often than not.

11. ANDREW LUCK – QB – IND (8)

The Colts are heading towards running a 2 TE offense with a west coast scheme.  At least those 2 TEs would be Top 15 options if they were on separate teams, but West Coast in todays NFL does not work in Fantasy.  Rich Gannon/Donovan McNabb/Brad Johnson were probably the  best West Coast QBs of the early 2000s.  Those 3400 Yards 27 TDs is not good anymore in todays down field bomb offenses.

12. ROBERT GRIFFIN III – QB – WAS (5)

RG3 is ahead of schedule with his knee.  It is too early to say Adrian Peterson, but everyone believes it is exactly that.  He has not lost a step, which means he will still be a running threat.  That game against SF late in the season will be one to watch.  Look for the Redskins to get Alfred Morris the ball more than ever.

13. RUSSELL WILSON – QB – SEA (12)

Wilson is the Marshawn Lynch killer in the Redzone.  But more importantly, he keeps drives alive. Russell added a new toy of Percy Harvin to add on Sidney Rice and Golden Tate.  If Wilson had to drop back and throw the ball 30 Times a game, Wilson could be a Top 5 option.

14. JOSH FREEMAN – QB – TB (5)

Freeman is in a contract season.  He also has an ELITE defense behind him for the first time in his career.  This is Josh’s best chance to earn a HUGE payday.  Mike Williams and Vincent Jackson are two great HR WRs and Doug Martin demands everyone’s attention.  Big season for the Bucs in 2013.

TIER 4

15. MICHAEL VICK – QB – PHI (12)

If one player has a lot to prove this season, Michael Vick is that man.  The Eagles are coming off of so much disappointment that they lost their Franchise coach.  The offense is the same offense the Oregon Ducks ran, which is perfect for dual threat QBs.  If you had to make an all-time list of the best dual threat QBs of our time, Vick has to be #1 if you take out the mental mistakes.  Jeremy Maclin and Desean Jackson still make up an ELITE WR duo.

16. JAY CUTLER – QB – CHI (8)

Cutler and Brandon Marshall is a dream connection.  Cutler throws a great deep ball, Marshall loves to go up and get it.  The Bears added Martellus Bennett who gives Cutler a great secondary Redzone option.

17. ANDY DALTON – QB – CIN (12)

Dalton is similar to Matt Stafford by only having 1 WR.  But the difference between Stafford and Dalton is Stafford can fling the ball anywhere.  Dalton is a West Coast offense QB with an arm that is geared for only 1 WR.  Andy is a 3,500 Yard QB with 25 TDs at the very best.

18. RYAN TANNEHILL – QB – MIA (6)

All the Dolphins are going to do is air it out.  Mike Wallace was a huge signing as Tannehill has an ELITE #1 WR.  Brian Hartline is still the #2 WR, who can burn single coverage if he gets it.  The TE is Dustin Keller who has his best QB since Brett Favre.  Look for Tannehill to turn the corner of having a big season with Mike Sherman as the OC.

19. PHILIP RIVERS – QB – SD (8)

Rivers is going to be in a good downfield passing offense in 2013.  DNX (Danario Alexander) and Vincent Brown/Malcolm Floyd make up a great big 3 man WR core.  Antonio Gates should have room to roam over the middle.  The key though, is this horrible offensive line doing their job.  They did not do anything to improve it.

20. CARSON PALMER – QB – ARI (9)

For the first time since Kurt Warner, the Cardinals have a QB that can actually throw the ball.  Larry Fitzgerald is going to love having Palmer who is not afraid to throw the deep ball.  Even if it’s in triple coverage, off his backfoot, in the 4th quarter.  Palmer will have nice games as this Cardinals WR core is underrated, but he will also have those horrible ones.

21. JOE FLACCO – QB – BAL (8)

Anquan Boldin was the best WR the Ravens had.  They did not replace him, and who knows if Torrey Smith can really handle being the #1a/#1b WR for this team.  Dennis Pitta will be active, but Pitta is not a Top 10 TE talent wise.  The Ravens will have to lean on Ray Rice more than ever in 2013.

22. MATT SCHAUB – QB – HOU (8)

Schaub is a better QB in reality than fantasy.  He manages the game, and converts key 3rd Downs.  What he does not do, is put up any shootouts.  The Texans win with their running game, to set up the playaction.  While Hopkins may be the answer to the #2 WR role, the Texans do not throw the ball more than 30 Times a game.

23. BEN ROETHLISBERGER – QB – PIT (5)

Big Ben lost Mike Wallace.  Antonio Brown and a plethora of slot WRs is not going to make up for that loss.  Wallace gets down the field at record speed, and Big Ben has lost that mobility.  A downgraded Roethlisberger is nothing more than a #20 Range QB.

TIER 5

24. BRANDON WEEDEN – QB – CLE (10)

Weeden has a nice arm and this Norv Turner offense will make the Browns a better team.  Still with that being said, Brandon Weeden is far from a safe-start at the QB position in Fantasy.  Josh Gordon is a very immature #1 WR, and if the #1 WR is not even that great and you don’t know if he will show up.  On top of that the Browns are going to run the ball like there is no tomorrow, I would use Weeden only if you are desperate in 2 QB leagues.

25. JAKE LOCKER – QB – TEN (8)

Locker has a motivated Kenny Britt in a contract year.  IF anyone lost more value in their potential contract over the last two years, Britt is easily that man.  He is on a mission to prove he is the man, the problem with that is Kendall Wright/Nate Washington are both solid WRs.  We already know Locker has a man crush on Washington.  With all that being said, Locker has the options to have a good season, he is still a bit raw.

26. SAM BRADFORD – QB – STL (11)

The Rams left Bradford with a rookie version of Percy Harvin and Jared Cook.  No more Amendola, who was Bradfords first and only main man throughout his career.  I’m sure Bradford will be able to adjust, but it might take a year for this young group to get it together.  No more Steven Jackson makes this Bradford’s team.  His defense is good enough to make him competitive.

27. ALEX SMITH – QB – KC (10)

Smith has a lot to prove in 2013.  After losing his starting job to Kaepernick he has reunited with Andy Reid who are both in the middle of the Broken Dreams path.  These two are good for eachother, but the Chiefs really only have Dwayne Bowe in the passing game.  While Bowe should have a good bounce back year, he cannot support a QBs numbers like Megatron/Marshall.

28. EJ MANUEL – QB – BUF (12)

EJ has some big-time play maker skills with his legs.  He is accurate enough with his arm.  He also has C.J. Spiller/Stevie Johnson and Robert Woods.  All of this adds up to a nice sleeper season for EJ if all fails.

29. CHRISTIAN PONDER – QB – MIN  (5)

Ponder got a nice WR in Greg Jennings.  As nice as that is, he lost Percy Harvin and this offense is still, Adrian Peterson and the Vikings.  Ponder will have some nice games, but do not be fooled into thinking he is anything more than a plug-n-play QB.  The Vikings throw the ball less than 25 times more often than not.

30. MATT FLYNN – QB – OAK (7)

Flynn gets his chance to show he is worth the contract he signed with Seattle. After his amazing Week 17 against the Lions in 2011 where he made it look like the defense was on Rookie mode in Madden 480 Yards/6 TDs.  The Raiders offense is geared towards power running with Darren McFadden, but the Raiders have the sleeper talent at the WR position for some big weeks.

31. CHAD HENNE – QB – JAX (9)

Chad may or may not win the starting QB job.  Last season he was putting up 300 Yards like it was nothing.  The same WR core is back and Maurice Jones-Drew is in a contract season.  Look for Henne to be a nice Plug-N-Play option if he wins the job.

32. BLAINE GABBERT – QB – JAX (9)

33. NICK FOLES – QB – PHI (12)

I do not see Foles being the starting QB this season, unless Vick gets injured.  Which is always possible these days.  Foles is a good QB who can rack up the points in right offense, but this Chip Kelly offense was really geared towards Michael Vick and his dual threat skills.

34. GENO SMITH – QB – NYJ (10)

Geno should do enough to win the QB job for the Jets.  Mark Sanchez is beyond awful, and Geno can easily gain 5-6 Points a week with running alone.  It could be Week 2, it could be Week 10.  Geno will eventually be the Jets starter.

35. MARK SANCHEZ – QB – NYJ (10)

Ranked as if he is the starting QB all 16 Games.  If that happens, the Jets are in for a rough season.  We all know Rex Ryan has a man crush on Mark Sanchez, and it is never to mix pleasure with business.  Tim Tebow is a better QB than Mark.

37. KEVIN KOLB – QB – BUF (12)

Kolb is the worst QB in the NFL.  The fact the Bills went with Kolb makes no sense, you might as well play a rookie.  Kolb has no pocket awareness, and without Larry Fitzgerald who is going to bail him out of bad throws?

BEAST RB 2013 FANTASY FOOTBALL RANKINGS

TIER 1

1. ADRIAN PETERSON – RB – MIN (5)

Adrian Peterson defines the word BEAST. If he falls to #2 in your draft, you have the steal of your draft.  Greg Jennings brings a premiere deep threat to the table that will help soften up those safety zones.  AP will slash that apart.

TIER 2

2. MARSHAWN LYNCH – RB – SEA (12)

BEAST MODE can run for 100 Yards/1 TD against any opponent.  The Seahawks are going to be the team to beat and the addition of Percy Harvin makes this offense so much better.  If the defense has to worry about the pass, Marshawn can tear you up.

3. LESEAN MCCOY – RB – PHI (12)

Shady will love the Chip Kelly offense that loves to run the ball.  Shady has been plagued by horrible offensive line play and Michael Vick fumbling in the Redzone like it was his job in 2012.  The Eagles O-Line problems have been fixed by Chip, nothing to worry about, at least for now.

4. DOUG MARTIN – RB – TB (5)

Teach me how to Douggie has an opportunity to take his game to the next level.  Josh Freeman had the Bucs offense clicking like the #1 Scoring offense for a good stretch of the 2012 season, and now he is in a contract year.  The Bucs are a great darkhorse to win the Superbowl, Doug will be a big reason why.  Peyton Hillis could be a goal line threat.  Watch this preseason.

5. TRENT RICHARDSON – RB – CLE (10)

Trent Richardson is going to be a stud in 2013.  The Browns offense is built for him to dominate, and Norv Turner is the genius behind the plan.  Norv is famous for giving Ladanian Tomlinson his dominant seasons.  The type of seasons that made you almost ban him from your Fantasy League the following year.  Trent should be a BEAST all season long.

6. ARIAN FOSTER – RB – HOU (8)

*UPDATE*

The more I think about it, the more I do not like Arian’s situation.  The Texans want him healthy for the playoffs, and Ben Tate is in a contract season.  Foster is already coming into the season injured after nearly 400 Touches in 2012.  Tate can be in games as early as the 3rd Quarter, which will lead to Tate Rape more than you want.

Arian took too many carries last season, the Texans offense was not as automatic as it was in the past, and the defense was banged up.  This season, it is now or never for this Texans squad.  Arian is 100% healthy and should be more effective than he was in 2012.

7. JAMAAL CHARLES – RB – KC (10)

Jamaal had Peyton Hillis slowing him down in 2012.  Jamaal also had Matt Cassel at QB and a defense that was always banged up, led by an angry teddy bear in Romeo Crennel.  Bring in Andy Ried, a healthy defense, and most importantly Alex Smith.  Charles could easily move to #4 by the end of the preseason.  Alex Smith keeps drives alive, Jamaal just needs his touches.

8. C.J. SPILLER – RB – BUF (12)

Spiller is the new LeSean McCoy.  The only problem is, he plays for the Bills who are led by Kevin Kolb.  Ryan Fitzpatrick at least had a respectable arm, Kolb has to make quick throws as he is worried about getting crushed.  As much as we all know C.J. can turn on the 70 Yard TD consistently, we also know the Bills are in for a very long season.  Fred Jackson should be in the mix as well as he is one of the Captains on that team.

TIER 3

9. RAY RICE – RB – BAL (8)

With no Anquan Boldin, the Ravens will need Ray Rice more than ever in 2013.  Ray can be the best Fantasy RB in the game, but his schedule leaves him in the tough AFC North where he has to face Cleveland/Cincinnati/Pittsburgh twice.  The Ravens offense is not as good as they once where, which could mean Ray Rice gets less Redzone opportunities.

10. STEVEN JACKSON – RB – ATL (6)

Redzone opportunities are exactly what Steven Jackson owners will not be lacking.  S-Jax moves to a high scoring, high flying Falcons offense that is ready to make a run for the Superbowl.  Jackson will have 6 men at the box to defend the pass, which will lead to a Huge holes for the BRICK HOUSE RB.  The Falcons plan to throw to S-Jax plenty this season as well.  Lot’s to be excited about, Jackson still has gas in the tank showing off with 146 Total Yards and 7 Receptions in his Rams Home Finale.

11. DEMARCO MURRAY – RB – DAL (11)

The Cowboys want to run the ball more in 2013.  While that seems to be a goal every season, the team is always led by Tony Romo who likes to play the poor mans Brett Favre.  If D-Train can stay healthy, he would be an absolute Lock for 1,200 Yards and 10 TDs.  It is worth the risk to find out as this Cowboys team could put up some serious points if Murray gets going.

12. MONTEE BALL – RB – DEN (9)

I want to rank Montee higher, and I likely will before the end of the Preseason.  Think what you want with whatever John Fox is saying.  We have all seen Ronnie Hillman run the ball, 120 Yards and 1 TD is only possible for him on a College Football level.  We all finally agree that Knowshon Moreno is average at best.  Montee is a Stud.  Montee finds the Endzone.  Montee will win you your 2013 Fantasy Football Championship if you draft him correctly.  SIGN UP FOR THE EARLY BEAST V.I.P. Today.

13. REGGIE BUSH – RB – DET (9)

Reggie is exactly what this Lions offense was missing.  An upgraded version of Jhavid Best.  Reggie will thrive when safeties have to double team Megatron Deep, leaving so much space for Reggie on a screen pass.  You may break your own ankles watching Reggie juke in Space all season long in this gun slinging Lions offense.

14. FRANK GORE – RB – SF (9)

Frank the Tank will benefit with Kaepernick as his QB.  Colin will get the 49ers in the Redzone often, and Frank is the man at cashing those in.  Anquan Boldin gives the 9ers a solid option in the passing game who demands safety attention.  This will give Gore even more room to roam in what should be a solid season.

15. MAURICE JONES-DREW – RB – JAX (9)

MJD is in a contract year, he also is in shape.  Jones-Drew has to play himself into a big contract simply because he is trending in the wrong direction, and health is always a concern.  While I want to jump on the bandwagon and say he will show up, I think it all depends on Chad Henne being the starting QB.  I am ranking him as if that came true.

16. MATT FORTE – RB – CHI (8)

All Matt Forte can talk about is the amount of passes he expects in 2013.  We get it Matt, we all know you can catch.  With Jay Cutler in a contract season, you can expect Jay to look at Matt Forte as the #2b Option with Martellus Bennett once Brandon Marshall is tripled team.  Forte should have a big year as the Bears are very Superbowl hungry, this defense wants it.  Michael Bush is healthy this season and should be a big time threat in the Redzone.

17. CHRIS JOHNSON – RB – TEN (8)

CJ2K knows that Fantasy Football owners are quickly starting to doubt him.  He is an inconsistent RB who will run for 40 Yards for 3 Quarters, then get a 70 Yard run in the 4th Quarter to give him a big week.  Jake Locker has to show growth this preseason, and then CJ’s value will rise.  Shonn Greene is a big buzz kill for TDs.  But you know CJ2K will make up for those plays in other ways.

18. DARREN MCFADDEN – RB – OAK (7)

McFadden is in a contract season.  The Raiders are also working in more of a power run scheme instead of zone, which is perfect for McFadden when he hits that 3rd gear and is already past the Linebackers.  Run DMC has to have a special season for the Silver and Black, with all the defensive upgrades this team made.  As well as bringing in a good deep ball QB in Matt Flynn.  The Raiders mean business.

19. STEVAN RIDLEY – RB – NE (10)

Ridley is looking good in camp and is even bigger/stronger than before.  No need to worry about LeGarrette Blount or Brandon Bolden stealing the Redzone TDs.  Ridley will have a much bigger role in the running game with Aaron Hernandez/Wes Welker out of the equation.  The only frustrating thing about Ridley is the few weeks the Patriots play Musical Chairs with their RBs.

TIER 4

20. ALFRED MORRIS – RB – WAS (5)

*UPDATE*

The Threat of Roy Helu is real.  We all know that Coach Shanahan can switch his mind quicker than someone in an insane aslyum.  Do not get caught taking Morris early.

With RGIII not likely being a power runner like he was in 2012.  Alfred Morris will take all the short yardarge and goal line carries up the middle.  Which makes RGIII a one dimensional outside runner.  This makes Alfred Morris more valuable as a Fantasy Option because the Redskins will be trusting Morris more to get those 4-5 Yards Per Carry consistently as the defense will always have to be on their toes for RGIII to take off.

21. AHMAD BRADSHAW – RB – IND (8)

Bradshaw is in a good situation where he will be the lead RB to one of the most effective/efficient offenses in the NFL.  The Colts are also going to a West Coast Scheme which will likely put the ball in Bradshaw’s hands over 20 times a game.

22. RYAN MATHEWS – RB – SD (8)

The Chargers lack one thing.  An offensive line.  When Phillip Rivers does not get time to throw, this offense does not progress.  Ryan Matthews was a bit of a disappointment in 2012 as he never was 100% healthy with collarbone injuries.  You should still not count Matthews out as he can easily explode for a comeback player of the year award.  Watch his preseason, more importantly the offensive line.

23. RASHARD MENDENHALL – RB – ARI (9)

Mendenhall is a decent sleeper.  For the past few seasons, the Cardinals really did not have a running game.  In fact, they did not really even have a respectable passing game with John Skelton and Kevin Kolb playing, “Who can get the ball to Fitzgerald Better.”  The winner was Skelton, and Beanie Wells was never 100%.  Mendy can do some special things here as Carson Palmer should have this offense playing to a new level they have not seen since Kurt Warner.

24. GIOVANI BERNARD – RB – CIN (12)

If you want to make a strong play in your draft, go for Bernard before Green-Ellis is off the board.  The Bengals need Bernard to make them an electric offense like they know they can be.  Bernard brings that Reggie Bush “X” Factor to the team if he gets going, while I will not compare him to Reggie now.  He could be something special in the consistent Darren Sproles range.

25. EDDIE LACY – RB – GB (4)

Lacy has a good chance to score 10+ TDs if he plays like a capable RB.  His competition is DuJuan Harris and Jonathan Franklin.  While the Packers plan on using Franklin a lot in the Punt Return game, you can expect Lacy to be the workhorse RB.  The Packers will score a lot of points, Lacy will get his Redzone carries.  Just make sure Franklin does not look too good this Preseason.

TIER 5

26. BEN TATE – RB – HOU (8)

Ben Tate is an automatic RB#1 if Arian Foster goes down for any games.  Not only is he RB#1 quality, he could be Top 5 for any given week.  Tate is the exact clone of Boobie Miles from ‘Friday Night Lights’ and the Texans are not afraid to use him like that.  If you draft Arian Foster, do yourself a favor and draft Ben Tate.  Even if you do not own Foster, steal Tate away.

27. JONATHAN STEWART – RB – CAR (4)

J-Stew is supposed to be featured more heavily this season.  While the Panthers brought back DeAnglo Williams for pennies on the dollar, and Mike Tolbert/Cam Newton are huge Redzone monsters.  J-Stew can still have a solid season where he makes 60 Yards/1 TD look like the norm.  It is too early to tell now, but I’,m thinking featured back.

28. LAMAR MILLER – RB – MIA (6)

While everyone is jumping on the Lamar Miller bandwagon, you have to be semi-cautious about Daniel Thomas as of now.  Daniel Thomas as a rookie showed a couple BEASTLY performances in 2011.  He looked like such a Fantasy stud, owners were starting to use him as a RB#2 consistently.  D-Thomas is not going away quietly, which will put the pressure on Miller to perform every week.

29. DARYL RICHARDSON – RB – STL (11)

Richardson has nice speed, and Sam Bradford is a quality QB.  But playing the NFC West and the most fierce run defense in the NFL (SF/SEA/ARI), you are better off only using Richardson when the time looks right.  Whose to say he will even be the starter once he struggles with his early season schedule.  Lots of risk, for occasional upside.

30. DARREN SPROLES – RB – NO (7)

While we always want to get excited about Sproles.  The truth is we cannot.  Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas are both stud RBs.  These guys demand 5-12 Carries a game each.  Sproles will have his weeks, and he is still a PPR monster.  But as a stand alone player, he does have a lot of Beast or Bust potential from week-to-week.  More Bust.

31. DAVID WILSON – RB – NYG (9)

my post via FantasyPros Overvalued Players…..David Wilson is lightning in a bottle. While that translates to some blowout wins in your fantasy league, it can also cause heartbreak. There are a few red flags on Wilson.

1. The Giants will be a pass 1st/pass 2nd/pass 3rd offense.
2. Andre Brown is supposed to be splitting the carries 50/50.
3. Andre Brown will be the TD Vulture at the goal line.
4. David Wilson is prone to being in the coaches dog house. Fumbles/Mistakes.

All of this adds…

32. ANDRE BROWN – RB – NYG (9)

Brown is a good enough RB to be the starter for the Giants.  The Giants have already given Brown 3rd Down/Goal Line duties, and if it was not for the concussion late in the season.. David Wilson would never had that opportunity to be the starting RB.  Look for Brown to take his job back.

33. SHANE VEREEN – RB – NE (10)

Vereen is going to have to adjust his role consistency throughout 2013.  The Patriots plan on using him as a replacement to Aaron Hernandez a little, and he will steal Fantasy Points away from RIdley every random game.  Shane has nice upside this season, but he also has a very low floor.  Draft/Wait/See is usually the case for a player like Vereen who can BREAK out.

34. LE’VEON BELL – RB – PIT (5)

The Steelers did not like that 3 man RB rotation they ran all season.  There was never a consistent RB that made the opposing defense afraid of the run.  Le”Veon Bell brings a 3 Down capability to this Steelers squad, and they will rely on him even more with no Mike Wallace around to help that passing game.

TIER 6

35. CHRIS IVORY – RB – NYJ (10)

Here’s a great idea.  Take a terrible team, keep your horrible QB.  Get rid of your star RB.  Sign a young version of what your RB could be, and then tell the world that he is going to be special.  Then tell the world, that you plan on feeding him the ball consistently and to watch out for how good he can be.  So now that defenses know, Ivory is going to get carry after carry after carry.  You shut him down for the first couple of quarters, the Jets are now down 27-0.  Ivory is no longer a t…

36. DEANGLO WILLIAMS – RB – CAR (4)

D-Will is likely on his last few legs.  Luckily for him Jonathan Stewart is not 100% heading into the seaosn, which means Williams could have his few weeks of RB#2/#3 potential.  While I would not get too excited, I would not let him slip too low in my draft just in case he starts against the Saints.

37. MICHAEL BUSH – RB – CHI (8)

While this is Matt Forte’s offense.  Michael Bush played with a Broken Shoulder from Week 2- Week 15.  He also broke his toe.  Michael Bush was doing all he can to be a WARRIOR for the Bears.  Now we are in 2013, Bush is healthy and Forte is still fragile.  Bush is going to take the goal line carries as well as short yardage situations.  Forte will do everything else, but Forte never stays healthy.  Bush would be an automatic RB #1/High #2, if Forte had to miss a game.

38. PIERRE THOMAS – RB – NO (7)

Pierre is a great RB on the wrong offense.  Thomas has 80 Yards/1 TD with a handful of receptions written all over him.  Though those numbers are hard to come by when you have to compete with Mark Ingram and Darren Sproles itching for PT every single snap.

39. MARK INGRAM – RB – NO (7)

One of these seasons Ingram will stay healthy and run like the BEAST RB he was back in Alabama.  While that is possible Mark gets going, he still has Darren Sproles/Pierre Thomas in his RB rotation.  Pierre would be a starter on a good amount of teams, Sproles is the best 3rd down back in the NFL.  Mark should get the goal line carries.

40. BENJARVUS GREEN-ELLIS – RB – CIN (12)

The Law-Firm will do his fantasy owners injustice in 2013.  Giovani Bernard is a real threat as he is the type of RB that can get this Bengals offense to a high scoring team.  Green-Ellis is good, but when the Bengals run the ball 15 Times and only gain 3 Yards at a time (45 Yards), it is going to be a slow day for that offense.  Bernard is the type of RB who can pick up all 45 Yards on 1 carry.  Watch the Preseason battle closely.

41.ROY HELU JR. – RB – WAS (5)

The man who was once the starter in Washington is looking faster than ever after ACL surgery.  He was the reason the flood gates were open for Alfred Morris in 2012, and those flood gates looked to be closed as Helu has already claimed 3rd Down RB duties.

42. BRYCE BROWN – RB – PHI (12)

Bryce was the most special player off the Waiver Wire late in 2012.  100 Yards/2 TDs was automatic.  With LeSean McCoy back, you cannot expect Brown to see anything more than change-of-pace carries.  Brown is a talented RB who could jump to RB#2 if McCoy misses a game, but for now is nothing more than a handcuff.

43. VICK BALLARD – RB – IND (8)

Vick ‘The Brick’ Ballard will be the change-of-pace RB to Bradshaw, and that is best case scenario.  Luckily for Ballard, Bradshaw is not the type of RB who makes it through a season healthy.  Ever.  And coming into 2013 with Bradshaw at less than 100%, you already know Ballard will get his Fantasy RB#2 chances.

TIER 7

44. FRED JACKSON – RB – BUF (12)

F-Jax who was once on top of the Fantasy Football RB world, is now on the outside looking in as he is now outside the Top 40.  This offense is supposed to go to C.J. Spiller often, but Fred is the captain of this team and wants to take this team to the Playoffs.  While that definitely will not happen, Jackson still has to prove he has a lot left in the tank so he can get traded, or earn a big pay day.

45. SHONN GREENE – RB – TEN (8)

Greene is not going to be anything more than a few carries a game RB.  He will steal the Goal Line and Short Yardage situations, but the Titans just want CJ2K to be fresh and avoid HUGE hits.  The reason the Titans gave Greene $10 Million for such a small role, is because that role wins you Football games.

46. DANIEL THOMAS – RB – MIA (6)

Daniel Thomas was once on top of the Fantasy RB world.  For the first time since Week 5 of the 2012 season, Thomas has the chance to reclaim Fantasy Glory and be a Fantasy RB.  All eyes and ears are on Lamar Miller, but Daniel Thomas is the underdog of this camp to win that job.  Either way, watch him closely we all know that he can be a BEAST.

47. RONNIE HILLMAN – RB – DEN (9)

Hillman is not a good RB.  As good as we want to believe he can be, he is not on the same playing field as Montee Ball.  If Hillman was at Wisconsin, he would not have done the things Ball was able to do.  Look at Ronnie as nothing more than a late round pick who could steal the job from Bell if Bell forgets how to play Football.

48. MIKEL LESHOURE – RB – DET (9)

Leshoure is not completely out of the picture with the signing of Reggie Bush.  Leshoure will be the goal line and short yard RB for the Lions.  Joique Bell is still a factor, but Leshoure should have him BEAT.  Let us not forget that Reggie Bush is not 100% guaranteed to make it healthy all season long, give Leshoure a few weeks with RB#2 possibilities.

49. BERNARD PIERCE – RB – BAL (8)

Pierce is a special RB with RB#2 Upside.  The only way that sentence comes true is if Ray Rice misses a game.  Rice is Mr. Dependable, which makes Pierce nothing more than a handcuff in the late rounds.

50. JACQUIZZ RODGERS – RB – ATL (6)

Quizz has no chance to see PT unless Steven Jackson goes down.  Or the Falcons are in a blowout situation.  Quizz is a small baby version of Steven Jackson, and even that would be giving too much credit as JacQuizz let his best opportunity to be the Featured RB in 2012 slip away.

51. ISAAC REDMAN – RB – PIT (5)

Redman is next in line if Bell does not do the job he is supposed to do.  Redman has proved that can be a capable RB#3 if he gets the job, with RB#2 upside.  For now forget about drafting Redman, but watch to make sure Bell is legit in the preseason before the Steelers go all in on the Rookie.

52. MIKE TOLBERT – RB – CAR (4)

Tolbert is a special player who is inconsistent.  Not his fault, but the Panthers have so much talent at the RB position, on top of Cam Newton stealing the Goal Line carries.  Tolbert has nice upside, but he is best left on the Waiver Wire unless there is an injury.  Jonathan Stewart and D-Will get their attempts before Tolbert.

53. KENDALL HUNTER – RB – SF (9)

Hunter has RB#2/3 potential if Frank Gore were to miss a game.  First Kendall needs to get 100% healthy, but when he is, he can run with the best of them.  His Speed/Power is good enough to be a consistent 80 Yard/1 TD RB.

TIER 8

54. DANNY WOODHEAD – RB – SD (8)

Woodhead will be good for 3rd Downs and the occasional games that Ryan Matthews miss.  Woodhead can put up Fantasy Numbers if he gets his opportunities, which looks to be the case.  The Chargers also lack a lot in the offensive line, which could bring Woodhead in the game on passing downs consistently.

55. KNOWSHON MORENO – RB – DEN (9)

‘Know Show’ Moreno is nothing more than the 3rd Down back for the Broncos.  But the 3rd Down back who may not even see the field on 3rd downs as he is behind Ronnie Hillman/Montee Ball on the depth chart.  This is Montee Ball’s offense, and Moreno will take a backseat.

56. DUJUAN HARRIS – RB – GB (4)

DuJuan may be the #2 RB for the Packers now, but he has a lot to prove this preseason if he wants to keep that job.  There is no way if Harris played at UCLA last season, he would of been able to do the things that Franklin did.  Franklin is more dominant, and those players usually end up winning the jobs.

57. ISIAH PEAD – RB – STL (11)

Pead is the #2 RB as of now for the Rams.  Even though he will get his few starts, there is no guarantee that this Rams offense is going to be effective enough to give you anything more than a RB#3 quality player.  You still have to worry about that 3-Headed Monster.

58. JONATHAN DWYER – RB – PIT (5)

59. LEGARRETTE BLOUNT – RB – NE

60. MICHAEL TURNER – RB – FA

Turner the Burner is the first likely Ex-Star RB to be signed.  Even though Turner looked Burnt Out in 2012, he could be refreshed and motivated in 2013.  Expect to see him signed later in the season.

61. WILLIS MCGAHEE – RB – FA

Will Willis comeback in 2013?  We can only hope his ACL recovery went 100% and he finds a team in Week 9 who just lost their starting RB.  He can start the season on your Waiver Wire, but be ready to pounce.

62. JOESPH RANDLE – RB – DAL (11)

Randle has some nice upside, but he is never going to see the field unless DeMarcco Murray goes down.  Murray does have an injury history, so do not be too surprised to Randle get his opportunities here and there.  He has some nice explosion which could be similar to Felix Jones circa 2010.

63. JONATHAN FRANKLIN – RB – GB (4)

Watch Franklin closely this preseason.  He was a stud at UCLA and has the potential to be a starting RB in this league.  He may be small, but so was Maurice Jones-Drew.  Lacey is no lock to stay healthy, and DuJuan Harris is not a special RB by any means.  Keep your eyes on the Bruin.

64. RASHAD JENNINGS – RB – OAK (7)

Jennings is a talented RB who almost took the job away from Maurice Jones-Drew in 2012.  But he did not, and then at the end of the season he looked sloppier than usual.  Now he goes to the Raiders to backup Darren McFadden.  McFadden is the workhorse RB, but Jennings will get his handful of carries to give McFadden a breather.  DMC also does not stay healthy like we wish he would.  Good handcuff option.

65. ROBERT TURBIN – RB – SEA (12)

Turbin is good for 4th Quarter blowouts, and games Marshawn Lynch is out.  Which makes Turbin nothing more than a handcuff.  A handcuff with RB#3 potential.

66. JUSTIN FORSETT – RB – JAX (9)

Forsett has some nice upside as he is a RB who can get those 75 Yard/1 TD performances.  Only if MJD is injured, Chad Henne is the QB, and the Jags have an easy matchup.  Otherwise, Forsett is nothing more than a handcuff for MJD owners.

67. TOBY GERHART – RB – MIN (5)

The Handcuff to Adrian Peterson.  Nothing more, nothing less.  If he starts, he could get 80 Yards and a TD, but he could also get 40 Yards and Nothing.

68. ZAC STACEY – RB – STL (11)

Even though Stacy could be the featured back a few weeks for the Rams, the path to making that happen requires a Mandatory BEAST preseason.  Isiah Pead and Daryl Richardson are both ahead of Stacy on the depth chart.  No reason to draft someone and just wait all season, even though he may be nothing special when he gets his chance.

TIER 9

69. PEYTON HILLIS – RB – TB (5)

The Bucs signing Peyton Hillis was a very sneaky move.  They plan on using him at FB, here he led the way for Felix Jones and Darren McFadden in Arkansas.  If he is on the field at all-times like a FB, he has RB#3 written all over him in 2013.  It will be interesting to see where the Bucs line him up this preseason, he could be a HUGE weapon for a great offense.  He may even steal goal line carries from Martin.

70. CHRIS WELLS – RB – FA

Beanie Baby Wells is on the street.  With no job, he does not warrant a roster spot.  He will be playing angry, but he has to be on the right team with the right matchup.  Health has been his weakness his entire career, so a mid-season signing is the best case scenario or he is riding the bench.

71. BILAL POWELL – RB – NYJ (10)

What to say about Bilal.  Even if he starts, he is still a bench option.  Mike Goodson will be playing the role that Powell played in 2012,  Goodson is also a better RB.

72. LANCE DUNBAR – RB – DAL (11)

73. MIKE GOODSON – RB – NYJ (10)

No reason to touch Mike Goodson unless you are in PPR leagues.  Goodson will get a lot of garbage time receptions, and the occasional 3rd Down plays early in the game.  That is something you never want to say about a potential starting RB on your roster.

74. MARCEL REECE – RB – OAK (7)

Reece had some MONSTER High RB#2 Numbers in 2012.  Now we are back in reality, and Darren McFadden is in a contract year.  Look for Reece to have his occasional big moments, with little consistency.

75. JOIQUE BELL – RB – DET (7)

Joique certantily had his moments in 2012.  He stole a Week 1 TD away from Kevin Smith, and he looked much better than Mikel Leshoure for a majority of the games they played together.  In 2013, Bell now watches Reggie Bush take the role that he once dreamed of.  Bell is still playing behind Leshoure, and it would take a Reggie injury for Bell to be relevant.

76. LAMICHAEL JAMES – RB – SF (9)

LaMichael is too small.  He has power, but it is on a JacQuizz Rodgers level.  With Kendall Hunter not 100% as of now, but soon will be.  James has to make the most of his opportunities now to pass him on the depth chart.  Just don’t see that happening.

77. SHAUN DRAUGHN – RB – KC (10)

Draughn will get his handful of carries every week with Jamaal Charles being a WORKHORSE RB in 2013.  Draughn is not very good, but those surprise 60 Yard Games start to add up.

78. CHRISTINE MICHAEL – RB – SEA (12)

Even when Williams got his carries, he looked like a worthless RB.  Go ahead and let Williams slip to any owner, any and every week you play him because Mendenhall is injured, you fell into the 4 Point RB trap.

79. DENARD ROBINSON – RB – JAX (9)

If Denard Robinson qualifies at RB in your league, and MJD misses a game.  Denard could get enough trick plays to be a RB#3.  He will never see more than 5 Carries in a game, but he could throw from the position which would make him very interesting.

BEAST WR FANTASY FOOTBALL RANKINGS (2013)

TIER 1

1. CALVIN JOHNSON – WR – DET (9)

Megatron is the best WR in the game.  Maybe the history of the game.  Having a weapon like this on your team brings a brand new excitement to Fantasy Football.  The addition of Reggie Bush should allow for easier coverages. 1st Round BEAST.

2. BRANDON MARSHALL – WR – CHI (8)

‘Forgetting Brandon Marshall’ is going to be hard to do if you let him slip in your draft.  Brandon is the closest thing to Megatron, and Jay Cutler is in a contract year.  He wants that payday, and he knows Brandon Marshall is his best chance of making him rich.

TIER 2

3. AJ GREEN – WR – CIN (12)

The Bengals offense is not trying to outscore you.  They like to eat up clock and win games with their physical defense.  While A.J. Green is a Superstar, he is limited to what he can really do on the field because of the mold the Bengals currently have.  If the Bengals give Giovani the starting RB position, Green can launch to the Top 3.

4. JULIO JONES – WR – ATL (6)

Julio Jones did not have his breakout year last season.  The ceiling is still much higher on one of the most athletic/gifted players in this league.  Now that the Falcons have a quality running game in Steven Jackson, those safeties cannot drop back 20 Yards to prevent the bomb.  Matt Ryan just signed a huge contract with Atlanta, he better get the ball to Julio Jones.

5. DEMARIYUS THOMAS – WR – DEN (9)

Wes Welker and Eric Decker are going to be involved a lot this season.  Montee Ball will be stealing goal line TDs.  Through all this, Peyton Manning will be setting records.  Now that defenses cannot double team D-Thomas, we can expect big plays often.

6. DEZ BRYANT – WR – DAL (11)

It’s about time Dez goes into the season as a Top 5 WR.  He has all the tools in the world to be on top of this list, if it was not for Miles Austin he probably would be.  The Cowboys star player is #88, and it is time for Dallas to recognize that.

7. WES WELKER – WR – DEN (9)

Like I said about Thomas, Peyton Manning will be setting records in 2013, which means his WRs will have BEAST like numbers.  While Thomas goes deep, Decker does his curls/slants, Welker will be finding all the soft spots without the ability to be doubled team.

8. LARRY FITZGERALD – WR – ARI (9)

What makes Carson Palmer great, he will throw the ball blindly into triple coverage if he trusts his WR.  Carson does well with big WRs, and Larry Fitzgerald is the dentition of that.  Remember when Mike Williams for USC was a TD Machine and being used in the same sentence as Larry Fitzgerald at the time they were both in College.  Now we can see what Fitzgerald could do with that same type of QB.  This is the first quality QB the Cardinals have had since Kurt Warner.

9. DANNY AMENDOLA – WR – NYG (10)

Tom Brady will get his numbers.  4,000 Yards is automatic, and Danny Amendola is more than capable of being the #1 Option.  While Gronk is the #1 option, Amendola will be an amazing #2 in the passing game for Brady.  Danny was able to get numbers being the only WR in a Sam Bradford offense, he will definitely get numbers as the sometimes goto option for Brady.

10. RODDY WHITE – WR – ATL (6)

Roddy ‘Show Stopper’ White is ready to eat a big chunk of the Falcons passing game.  Every season the Falcons keep saying White is slowing down and it’s Jones’ time, but all he does is show up.  White is still one of the Fantasy greats in the game, and it does not hurt that the Falcons have a legitimate run game in 2013.

11. VICTOR CRUZ – WR – NYG (9)

Victor was the Stud of the Fantasy Football season the first half, but then Hakeem Nicks got healthy.  When Hakeem was healthy, Eli seemed to be looking his way more often than Cruz.  Victor let owners down in the Fantasy Playoffs with a combined 3 Standard Points combined in Week 15/16.  Nicks is healthy heading into 2013.

TIER 3

12. VINCENT JACKSON – WR – TB (5)

Vincent Jackson is a huge threat every week to win your matchup.  He is no longer inconsistent from his Phillip Rivers days, he is a Monster nearly every week.  Josh Freeman is in a contract season, he knows he can get those Bandz if he throws the ball to V-Jax often.

13. HAKEEM NICKS – WR – NYG (9)

Hakeem ‘Wet Dream’ Nicks if 100% could have a huge season.  Even though Victor Cruz is the better fantasy WR, Hakeem is the favorite target of Eli Manning.  Nicks is someone to monitor this preseason as he seemed a step slower returning from foot/knee injury in 2012.  He is a Redzone monster.

14. RANDALL COBB – WR – GB (4)

Cobb has a chance to be a HUGE X-Factor this season for the Packers.  He is quickly turning into Percy Harvin 2.0 which is huge in PPR leagues.  We will see Cobb lineup everywhere on the field, even at RB.  The only concern on Cobb is how deep this Packers team is.  Jordy Nelson is arguably the #1 Target, JerMichael Finley is in a contract year, and James Jones is one of the best #3 WRs in the NFL.  Cobb will get his, but he will also lack some weeks.

15. JORDY NELSON – WR – GB (4)

Jordy could be ready for a breakout year with no Greg Jennings.  If Jordy does not get double teamed, Aaron Rodgers will take his shots on Nelson often.  The knock on Jordy is all the talent that surrounds him, but at the end of the day.  We can easily see Nelson leading the Packers WR core.

16. MARQUES COLSTON – WR – NO (7)

Colston comes with Pros and Cons.  The major con on Colston is how many mouths Drew Brees has to feed.  The major Pro is Drew Brees has a lot of food to feed.  Colston is not the #1 WR on this team, he may even be the #3 option when you consider Jimmy Graham should have a bigger role in 2013, and Lance Moore could arguably be #2 because he does all the quick Yard patterns.  Still, Colston will get his plays.  Health is always a factor, and having a big talented Saints WR is a good thing.

17. REGGIE WAYNE – WR – IND (8)

Reggie Wayne is now 35 Years Old, and the Colts are running a West Coast Offense.  West Coast offense is good if you are the type of player who can take a 4 Yard Slant to the house, for a player like Reggie Wayne..You have to hope for a Tim Brown/Jerry Rice season from their time together in Oakland.  Luck should still put up numbers, and Wayne is the obvious #1.  The explosion factor may start to fall.

18. STEVE SMITH – WR – CAR (4)

Steve Smith is a burner.  He is also the clear #1 WR for Cam Newton who will be unstoppable in 2013.   While Smith has been plagued by Cam’s inconsistency in 2012, we all know that Smith can be a 1300 Yard/13 TD WR.  Cam is on a mission, and it all starts with throwing the ball deep to Steve.

19. DWAYNE BOWE – WR – KC (10)

Finally Bowe has a capable QB throwing to him.  From Kyle Orton to Matt Cassel and a bunch of QBs who do not play in the NFL ever again after their few game stint with the Chiefs.  Bowe gets Alex Smith, and most importantly Andy Reid.  Look for the Chiefs to pass the ball often, while also giving the ball to Jamaal Charles often.  Smith knows how to get the ball into #1 WR hands, Michael Crabtree had his moments, Bowe is a much better player.

20. DESEAN JACKSON – WR – PHI (12)

I would take a very high chance on Desean Jackson in 2013.  Early reports are that Jeremy Maclin has torn his ACL, if this is true, Desean has no choice but to be the #1/#2/#3 WR for the Eagles.  He is very hard to guard, and the Eagles will always be on their toes to keep him involved and moving him around so defenses cannot make him predictable.  Monitor his preseason, he is Vicks last chance.

21. MILES AUSTIN – WR – DAL (11)

The steal of your 2013 Fantasy Football draft.  The Cowboys offense is on a mission to win it this year.  Miles Austin is the slot WR, and you cannot defend him at the slot.  Jason Witten demands attention, Dez Bryant demands attention, and Murray is a TRUCK.  Look for Miles to get plenty of open space, and before the injuries he was the best YAC WR in the league.  Still has the talent.

22. MIKE WALLACE – WR – MIA (6)

Ryan Tannehill has a great new toy in Mike Wallace.  Tannehill is no normal 2nd year QB, this guy was able to throw for over 3,200 Yards with a WR core led by Brian Hartline.  Teams will focus on slowing down Wallace, Tannehill will have no problem getting Brian Hartline on single coverage.

23. ANDRE JOHNSON – WR – HOU (8)

While Johnson had a big season in 2012, the Texans know he is not the same player he was before.  The Texans drafted DeAndre Hopkins in the 1st Round, Owen Daniels is healthy, and Arian Foster/Ben Tate are both looking for bounce back seasons.  I love ‘Andre1500′ as a player, but this season he could be inconsistent.  His preseason is one to watch.  Keep in mind Schaub is lucky to have a game where he throws the ball 25+ Times.

24. ANQUAN BOLDIN – WR – SF (9)

Anquan is going to SF to win them a Superbowl, after being the largest reason why they lost it in 2013.  Anquan was a BEAST against the 49ers defense tearing down pass after pass against any and all coverage they gave him.  With Crabtree out for the season, look for Anquan to be the main man for Kapernick in 2013.  Vernon Davis will have his moments, but Boldin will be the man.

25. ANTONIO BROWN – WR – PIT (5)

Antonio Brown has a lot of responsibility with Mike Wallace gone.  Big Ben has always trusted Brown as a #1A even when Wallace was there, and now with no Wallace.  Brown is the clear #1.  The sky is the limit for this team that will live and die off the arm of Big Ben.  With a rookie at RB, look for the Steelers to be throwing often.

26. TORREY SMITH – WR – BAL (8)

Torrey has a lot of upside with the Ravens in 2013.  With Dennis Pitta out for the season, Torrey will be a target machine.  Somehow, someway, Flacco has to throw for over 250 Yards a game.  Torrey is the only capable player of getting numbers outside of Ray Rice.

TIER 4

27. LANCE MOORE – WR – NO (7)

Lance Moore is ready for that breakout year.  He is the Wes Welker to Drew Brees, and with no more Devery Henderson in the way.  There are no other targets he can lose.  Moore is the most consistent option of the Saints WR core, with the smallest probably of finding the Endzone.  Look for 100 Catches receptions.

28. JOSH GORDON – WR – CLE (10)

Josh Gordon has to get his head straight in 2013.  The Browns offense could have a big season, but Gordon still hangs out with a bad crowd that push’s him into doing stupid things.  Something that could lead to headaches throughout the year.  Brandon Weeden depends on Gordon, he is more of a matchup play at best.  If Weeden throws for 3,000 Yards.  Which he should.  Gordon is a lock for 1,000.

29. GREG JENNINGS – WR – MIN (5)

Chrisitan Ponder was able to make Percy Harvin good, and there is no reason why Greg Jennings cannot enter that same boat.  The Vikings have nobody else besides Kyle Rudolph to throw to, and Greg has a lot to prove after having a horrible 2012 and then leaving town to one of their rivals.

30. MIKE WILLIAMS – WR – TB (5)

TDs will make Them Dance.  If you found BEAST DOME last season, you must of won at least a solid 5 Weeks in a row thanks to Mike Will.  The Josh Freeman Bucs are heading towards their biggest season in Franchise history since they won the Superbowl.  Doug is ready to roll, the Defense finally has talent again, and Freeman is in a contract year.

31. ERIC DECKER – WR – DEN (9)

While Decker offers a lot potential inconsistency in 2013.  He does offer some nice upside as there is no way any defense can focus on stopping Decker with D-Thom and Welker.  Decker should be a nice threat for some huge weeks, and some weeks you wish Peyton remembered Decker was on his team.  His total numbers will put him as an ELITE WR#3.

32. SIDNEY RICE – WR – SEA (12)

With Percy Harvin playing at less than 100% in 2013, look for Sidney Rice to continue his great rapport with Russell Wilson.  Rice was a solid WR#3 in all Fantasy Leagues as he had some very nice breakout weeks.  If Harvin is going to miss any time, Rice becomes a low-end WR#2 in all leagues.

33. PIERRE GARCON – WR – WAS (5)

Garcon who looked to be the steal of the draft after his Huge Week 1, was never the same WR after the Toe injury.  He is still not 100% confident in the injury, the Redskins signed Donte Stallworth and Devery Henderson.  To go along with Santana Moss and Joshua Morgan.  Fred Davis is also coming back.  All of this adds up to a little bit too much inconsistency for 2013.

34. STEVIE JOHNSON – WR – BUF (12)

Kevin Kolb is the worst thing that can happen to any WR.  He almost made Larry Fitzgerald a WR#3 in 2012, after making that more than the case in 2011.  Do yourself a favor and avoid any WRs in a Kevin Kolb offense, this guy might lose a QB battle to Mark Sanchez.

35. KENNY BRITT – WR – TEN (8)

Contract Year. Check. Nobody lost more value than Kenny Britt in 2012 who proved his ACL injury in 2011 was still slowing him down.  So far in Training Camp, he has looked nothing but explosive.  The Titans could use his big play ability as there are not many who are more gifted at the position.

36. DENARIUS MOORE – WR – OAK (7)

Denarius Moore has a good chance to become a huge play WR for the Raiders in 2013.  Matt Flynn has a gun and loves to throw the deep ball, Denarius can go up and get it.  Knowing the Raiders, they will be trailing a lot of games heading into the 2nd Half.  Which makes Moore a great Garbage Time threat.

37. CECIL SHORTS – WR – JAX (9)

While it is easy to get excited about the potential of Shorts in 2013.  We have to remember a few things.  The Jags did not have Maurice Jones-Drew for nearly the entire 2nd Half of 2012, which forced the Jags to be a pass 1st team.  The Jags also had Chad Henne at QB, who has not won the job from Blaine Gabbert yet in 2013.  All this means, do not jump on the horse until the horse is ready to attack.  If Chad gets the job, while Blackmon is suspended to start the year.  Then go for some inc…

TIER 5

38. VINCENT BROWN – WR – SD (8)

Vincent Brown is the big sleeper who is supposed to ruin all the Chargers in the passing game.  Outside of Phillip Rivers of course, Brown has huge breakout potential which will mess with Antonio Gates and Danario Alexander.

39. JAMES JONES – WR – GB (4)

While we want to get excited about James Jones, the Packers offense has too much talent in 2013.  Everything from JerMichael Finley to a contract year, to Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson both being the #1/#2 WRs.  James is one of the best 3rd WRs in the league, but his inconsistency could drive you nuts as a fantasy owner.

40. PERCY HARVIN – WR – SEA (12)

*PERCY COULD BE THE PLAYOFFS DIFFERENCE MAKER.* Torn Hip labrum.  Unfortunate for Percy who finally had a legitimate QB.  There is still a good chance Harvin plays through the injury, but we all know we will not get the Percy we drafted.  Every single week you will have to read reports on Harvin’s Hip to see how he’s doing.  It is going to be more of a pain, than pleasure owning ‘Lamborghini Percy’ in 2013.

41. BRIAN HARTLINE – WR – MIA (6)

Hartline is in for a great sleeper year.  He was able to record over 1,000 Yards in 2012, even when defenses knew he was the WR who was going to see the most targets.  Now that defenses cannot key in Hartline, and leave him on Islands against 2nd CBs.  We may seen Brian Hartline breakout to another level.  Mike Wallace will be getting a lot of attention, which will leave to a lot of space for Hartline.

42. JUSTIN BLACKMON – WR – JAX (9)

Blackmon will be suspeneded to start the year, until Week 5.  By then Chad Henne will likely be the QB, which gives Blackmon a chance to put up some fantasy numbers quick to make up the time.  Justin has the tools to be a Top 10 WR in this league.  Will it happen this season, no.  But it will happen soon, and you will wish you were part of it as that develops.

43. GOLDEN TATE – WR – SEA (12)

Tate is a great #3 WR, but his consistency will be on the low-end as the Seahawks are a team that blows other teams out.  Which means he has to make his contributions earlier than later.  Watch the situation on Percy Harvin develop with the Hip, could lead to Tate climbing this list.

44. KENBRELL THOMPKINS – WR – NE (10)

It is odd to see a rookie WR make an impact on the Patriots, but Kenbrell Thompkins is making the right moves to jump Edelman on the depth chart.  Continue to watch the situation develop.

45. MOHAMED SANU – WR – CIN (12)

You Sanuze You Lose.  Mohamed is a big reason I am #1 as I had him Ranked as a WR#2 on the week he had his 2 TDs, when other Experts had him outside of the top 50.  The Bengals offense could turn lethal if Giovani is the RB, which would make Sanu a real threat.

46. TAVON AUSTIN – WR – STL (11)

Tavon is a little risky coming into 2013.  He is someone who can drop in the Rankings quick with a bad preseason as the Rams have not committed to make Austin the #1 Target.  Although Tavon has Percy Harvin upside, the Rams look to be taking it slower than they should with the rookie.  Things can change quickly though as the #1 WR in a Sam Bradford offense is not a bad WR#3 by any means.

47. ALSHON JEFFERY – WR – CHI (8)

Alshon Jeffery could be ready for a big season now that he has that rookie season under his belt.  Jay Cutler will be throwing often as he looks for that big contract, Alshon will have plenty of great matchups as teams worry about Brandon Marshall.  Jeffery can take advantage.

48. MALCOLM FLOYD – WR – SD (8)

Malcolm Floyd used to have it all.  Now he’s rolling in the Deep.  The Chargers have a lot of passing options that pushes him to #3 on the depth chart.  Make that #4 when you include Antonio Gates.

49. T.Y. HILTON – WR – IND (8)

Here is what I wrote on a Featured article about T.Y. on FantasyPros…“Thank You” Hilton is a fantasy player that is going to see his value drop more than any WR.

1. The Colts are moving to a quick pass offense aka West Coast Offense.
2. The Colts signed Darrius Heyward-Bey who is arguably the fastest WR in the NFL.
3. The Colts may actually have a legitimate running game in 2013 with Bradshaw.

What made T.Y. special was the fact that the Colts had no running game in 2012. If Andrew Luc…

50. BRANDON LAFELL – WR – CAR (4)

LaFell should have a nice season with Cam Newton, but not nice enough to use as anything more than a matchup play.  The Panthers love to run the ball, but LaFell is always a threat for that one big catch.  His target rate is not enough to be a consistent starter in Fantasy land.

TIER 6

51. JACOBY JONES – WR – BAL (8)

Jacoby’s job description just got a little more detailed with Dennis Pitta being out for the season.  Now with nobody to replace the shoes of Anquan Boldin, Jacoby has no choice but to accept the role as savior.  Will he succeed, I would not count on it.  But he can certainly surprise from week-to-week.

52. DEANDRE HOPKINGS – WR – HOU (8)

The Texans #1 Pick has a lot of potential.  The only problem is the Texans do not throw the ball that often, which means Hopkins may only see 5 Targets a game.  That is not good enough for a young player like him who needs to grow, which means Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels owners may see Hopkins as the Texans Killer.

53. EMMANUEL SANDERS – WR – PIT (5)

Emmanuel will be listed as the #2 WR, but the Steelers still have plenty of other options who will be seeing targets at that spot.  Sanders has big play potential, but he also has a lot of BUST weeks ahead.  He has no proven to be a consistent Fantasy WR as the #3 option for the Steelers, and he still has some ways to go to prove being anything more than a WR #4 on your roster.

54. SANTONIO HOLMES – WR – NYJ (10)

Chances of Holmes play this season.  Slim.  Do not draft Santonio and just wait for the news.  Even when healthy, it could be a very rough year for the Jets.

55. NATE WASHINGTON – WR – TEN (8)

Jake Locker has always had a man crush on Nate Washington.  Since the days he entered the NFL, Locker has seen Nate as the #1 WR for the Titans.  With Kenny Britt in a contract year looking to make the next level, that theory may change in 2013.  Still Nate should be a solid bet for 800+ Yards and over 5 TDs.

56. ROBERT WOODS – WR – BUF (12)

Robert Woods could be a great WR, but his potential is capped by Kevin Kolb at QB.  Kolb can barely support one WR in Fantasy Football.  Woods will have his weeks, but he will also have his Duds.

57. JULIAN EDELMAN – WR – NE (10)

Edelman is going to be the Patriots #2 WR.  He was very good last season before getting injured as he was a consistent 60 Yards with the likely TD when he played.  Julian is very similar to Wes Welker, just about half the talent.  His big frame will get him some nice Fantasy numbers over the middle, Brady is very comfortable with him as well.  No homo on that one.

58. CHRIS GIVENS – WR – STL (11)

Givens could win the #1 job from Tavon Austin in camp.  All signs are pointing to Tavon Austin being the future, and the future is now in STL.  Still, Givens has good rapport with Bradford and he could be a sleeper from week-to-week.

59. RYAN BROYLES – WR – DET (9)

Broyles comes into Lions camp as the #2 WR.  He should easily win that job as he was outstanding with Megatron/Stafford during his short time on the team.  Broyles has big play potential, and if defenses double team Megatron, which they will, Broyles will have some big weeks.  Stafford has to get his 400 Yards one way or another.

60. RUBEN RANDLE – WR – NYG (9)

Ruben Randle may have talent, but there are too many players blocking his path to consistent success.  Hakeem Nicks and that slow start to training camp is something to watch out for, otherwise Randle is best left for the deep leagues.

61. KENDALL WRIGHT – WR – TEN (8)

Kendall Wright is fighting with a lot of competition in 2013.  From Kenny Britt to Nate Washington, Kendall Wright appears to be more of a headache than anything heading into 2013.  The talent is there, the consistency with Targets his way, will not.

62. NATE BURLESON – WR – DET (9)

63. RILEY COOPER – WR – PHI (12)

64. DARRIUS HEYWARD-BEY – WR – IND (8)

DHB is one of the fastest WRs to play this game.  He does have talent as he flashed consistency at random times with the Raiders in his few seasons.  3 Weeks straight that were good, followed by two weeks you wish you never fell for the trick.  If DHB can pass T.Y. Hilton, then you have WR#3 Potential.

TIER 7

65. MICHAEL FLOYD – WR – ARI (9)

While Floyd might be the young Larry Fitzgerald, he still competes with a handful of WRs who are in the same range.  Floyd will never be consistent enough to be anything more than a WR#5 with #4 upside.  Unless Fitzgerald goes down.

66. AARON DOBSON – WR – NE (10)

Dobson is not going to be able to learn a Tom Brady offense as a rookie.  Better luck next season.

67.ANDRE ROBERTS – WR – ARI (9)

Andre Roberts is a good WR, but the Carson Palmer offense is only looking one way.  That one way is to #11.  Andre will have to compete with Floyd for receptions, which is not going to go in his favor every week.

68. DAVONE BESS – WR – CLE (10)

69. ANDRE HAWKINS – WR – CIN (12)

70. BRAYLON EDWARDS – WR – NYJ (10)

71. CORDARRELLE PATTERSON – WR – MIN (5)

It is hard enough to trust 1 WR in a Christian Ponder offense, yet alone a rookie #2.  Go ahead and pass as Ponder will be throwing the ball to Greg Jennings/Kyle Rudolph, while handing off the ball to AP 25+ Times a game.

72. AUSTIN PETTIS – WR – STL (11)

73. BRANDON LLOYD – WR – FA

You can draft Lloyd at the end, and hope he ends up in a situation where he can be the #1/#2 WR.  That Patriots offense for some reason did not click for Lloyd as he pulled the Ochocinco all over again.

74. JACOBY FORD – WR – OAK (7)

75. JON BALDWIN – WR – KC (10)

76. HARRY DOUGLAS – WR – ATL (6)

77. TIQUAN UNDERWOOD – WR – TB (5)

TIER 8

78. SANTANA MOSS – WR – WAS (5)

79. JERRICHO COTCHERY – WR – PIT (5)

80. JEREMY KERLEY – WR – NYJ (10)

Kerley may be the #1 WR for the Jets, but that does not mean anything if Mark Sanchez is the QB.  There will be some weeks Kerley gives you a Zero, simply because Sanchez was not able to do a thing.

81. GREG LITTLE – WR – CLE (10)

Little has one Big Problem.  He cannot catch the ball.  Everything else is there from Size to Speed, but those hands are a huge problem.  Hard to trust him as anything more than a 1 Week Waiver Wire sleeper, who disappoints by dropping his lone TD pass.

82. PLAXICO BURRESS – WR – PIT (5)

83. STEPHEN HILL – WR – NYJ (10)

If you used Stephen Hill in a Fantasy League, your team was very desperate.  So desperate, I take it you had no chance in winning your league.  Same case goes for 2013 as Mark Sanchez is still the QB.

84. ROD STREATER – WR – OAK (7)

Streater will have his moments.  Those moments will likely be on the Waiver Wire as you thank yourself for not taking the chance on him as a bye-week replacement.

85. KYLE WILLIAMS – WR – SF (9)

86. A.J. JENKINS – WR – SF (9)

Jenkins is fighting for that #2 WR role, but the Colin Kaepernick offense can only support two pass targets.  Those targets are easily Anquan and Vernon Davis.

87. DEVERY HENDERSON – WR – FA

88. BRIAN QUICK – WR – STL (11)

Don’t be so Quick.  With the Rams adding more talent to the WR core with Tavon Austin, as we all as Jared Cook at TE.  Quick can sit on the wire.

89. EARL BENNETT – WR – CHI (8)

90. MARIO MANNINGHAM – WR – SF (9)

91. DOMENIK HIXON – WR – CAR (4)

92. JEROME SIMPSON – WR – MIN (5)

93. KEVIN OGELTREE – WR – TB (5)

94. T.J. GRAHAM – WR – BUF (12)

95. EDDIE ROYAL – WR – SD (8)

96. DEVIN HESTER – WR – CHI (8)

97. COLE BEASLEY – WR – DAL (11)

98. DENARD ROBINSON – WR – JAX (9)

99. KENNAN ALLEN – WR – SD (8)

BEAST TE FANTASY FOOTBALL RANKINGS (2013)

TIER 1

1. ROB GRONKOWSKI – TE – NE (10)

There is reason to be concerned about Gronk not being 100% going into Week 1. But he should definitely be back in Week 2.  With Aaron Hernandez/Wes Welker out of the picture, Tom Brady is going to trust Gronkowski as often as he can. Unless Gronk is triple teamed, Gronk will get his numbers and be a consistent TD BEAST.  He is steal if he goes after the 2nd Round.

2. JIMMY GRAHAM – TE – NO (7)

While Graham might be safer than Gronk, I do not like the fact the Saints always have so many options.  Henderson is gone, but Lance Moore and Marques Colston are still there and they both demand targets.  The Saints also know that Mark Ingram needs to be a rock to keep that horrible defense off the field.  If Ingram fails, Graham and that Saints offense should be putting up points 24/7.  The addition of Ben Watson does not help Graham at all, which could result in the loss of a small handfu…

TIER 2

3. VERNON DAVIS – TE – SF (9)

Kaepernick treated Vernon Davis like a 2nd String TE when he first became the starter.  Vernon never had an outstanding fantasy day as a duo, he close to waiveable.  But then the playoffs happened, and Colin finally figuered out Vern is a BEAST.  With Delanie Walker gone, Michael Crabtree out for the season, Frank Gore a step slower.  Look for Vern to continue his postseason momentum into 2013.

4. TONY GONZALEZ – TE – ATL (6)

You cannot take anything away from the veteran in Tony G.  He is a living legend and proved that his special vegan diet does make careers last longer.  Matt Ryan will be slinging the ball 24/7, Steven Jackson will keep Safties in the box.  Tony G. will be wide open when defenses worry about Roddy White and Julio Jones.

5. JERMICHAEL FINLEY – TE – GB (4)

Jermichael has a few things working in his favor heading into 2013.  The running game is looking weak, Aaron Rodgers is still the QB, Greg Jennings is in Minnesota, and most importantly.  Finley is on a contract year.

6. JASON WITTEN – TE – DAL (11)

While Dez Bryant and Miles Austin always remain threats to take away targets.  It is clear that Tony Romo loves Jason Witten more than he ever cared about Jessica Simpson.  If Romo can get Witten the ball, he will.  If Witten was as athletic as Gronk or Graham, he would be the #1 option on this list.

TIER 3

7. JARED COOK – TE – STL (11)

Sam Bradford has never had a good TE.  While Danny Amendola has been his best all-time target, Jared Cook should easily take over that role.  Cook’s size and speed is not matched by many TEs.  He can also go up and get the ball in traffic, while streaming up the middle on a 30 Yard Route.  Look for Jared to be heavily used this season.

8. ANTONIO GATES – TE – SD (8)

The Chargers failed to improve their horrible offensive line.  Which likely means Gates will be blocking more often than you want.  Still Antonio should be able to take advantage of the middle with Vincent Brown and DNX “Ride or Die” pulling safties 40 Yards down the field.

9. GREG OLSEN – TE – CAR (4)

Every season Greg Olsen disappoints.  He will have his solid weeks, but he will also let you down and get less than 50 Yards Receiving in a matchup you thought was automatic.  Sooner than later this duo with Cam Newton should be dominate.  Off of playaction in the wildcat, I don’t see how defenses are able to stop it so well

10. JULIUS THOMAS – TE – (9)

The sleeper of the year at the TE position is Julius Thomas.  Peyton Manning usually makes his TE fantasy relevant, and Julius has a huge edge on Joel Dreessen right now.  Julius is doing so well, Jacob Tamme will probably not even make the team.

11. FRED DAVIS – TE – WAS (5)

If there was one player that everyone was looking forward to with RGIII, it was Fred Davis.  Davis is one of the most athletic TEs the game has to offer, and RGIII and that offense is designed for it.  However an Achillies injury is nothing to joke around about and watching Fred this preseason is vital.

12. MARTELLUS BENNETT – TE – CHI (8)

The Bears want to throw the ball.  Jay Cutler is in a contract year.  Brandon Marshall is a big-time WR who should be doubled every play.  Martellus had a great bounce back season with the Giants, no doubt he can improve on that as a Bear.  Alshon Jefferey is not a huge threat as the #2 WR.

13. OWEN DANIELS – TE – HOU (8)

Owen is perfect for the play-action game the Texans are known for.  With Casey in Philly this season, that is one less TE that can steal numbers from Daniels.  Garrett Graham is a minor threat, but this season we should see Owen return to his ELITE form.

14. JORDAN CAMERON – TE – CLE (10)

Cameron has been a sleeper TE on BEAST DOME all of last season.  With Ben Watson finally out of the picture, it is time for Cameron to take the next step and be the BEAST he can potentially be.  He is similar to Dennis Pitta, but does not have Ed Dickson battling him.  Look for Weeden to fall in love with Cameron as defenses focus on Trent Richardson and making sure Josh Gordon does not get behind them.

15. BRANDON MYERS – TE – NYG (9)

Myers was great in Oakland because the QB situation was horrible in Oakland last season.  With no star WR, and Darren McFadden having all the Safety/LB attention, it was all about dumping it to Brandon.  While Eli Manning shows that he loves throwing to his TEs, you have to assume Hakeem Nicks is going to have a much bigger season than last, which will take away from the overall potential Myers has.

TIER 4

16. KYLE RUDOLPH – TE – MIN (5)

You know what they say about Big Hands. Big Redzone target.  That is exactly what we have Rudolph heading into 2013.  With the addition of Greg Jennnings, and Purple Jesus getting his 25  Touches each week, Rudolph losses his security just a little bit.

17. BRANDON PETTIGREW – TE – DET (9)

Pettigrew lost 10 lbs this offseason to be able to get downfield quicker.  How about you first worry about catching Matt Stafford’s rocket passes.  Pettigrew dropped Redzone passes like it was his job, as well as not doing enough to clear double coverages from Megatron.  With Tony Scheffler in the picture, Pettigrew has lost his once Top 10 Potential.

18. MARCEDES LEWIS – TE – JAX (9)

If Chad Henne wins this QB job, Lewis could jump up into the Top 15.  Lewis is a great redzone option, and the Jaguars are going to be playing catchup week in and week out.

19. JERMAINE GRESHAM – TE – CIN (12)

Every season we want to believe Gresham will take the next step.  He is easily as big and athletic as the Top 5 options, and he should be the #2 option in the Bengals passing game.  The problem with Jermaine, he is such a great blocker that the Bengals have no problem using him for extra protection.  Look for Jermaine to get his numbers, but also look for him to have those 30 Yard weeks.  The addition of Tyler Eifert limits Gresham’s upside.

20. CHARLES CLAY – TE – MIA (6)

21. BRENT CELEK – TE – PHI (12)

Celek always seems to disappoint.  Now to the point where this is no risk in taking the once TE#1 potential option.  Michael Vick is on a mission this season, and Celek is a TE capable of getting that 50 Yard/1 TD game more often than not.  If you can land Brent at the end of your draft, why not.  James Casey could steal a lot of numbers however.

TIER 5

22. SCOTT CHANDLER – TE – BUF (12)

Scott Chandler is exactly like Kyle Rudolph.  He is a big Redzone threat who can rack up the 20 Yard/1 TD game like its his job.  With the running game going to a different level this season, Chandler should have the seam to himself.  Be aware though, Robert Woods is a legitimate WR#2 on this Bills Roster and could take away a lot of targets from The Chandman.

23. ZACH ERTZ – TE – PHI (12)

24. HEATH MILLER – TE – PIT (5)

Heath could miss the early part of the season, but as soon as he returns Big Ben will be using him consistently.  Miller seems to be getting slower every season, but last year Heath was a nice low-end TE#1 option.  With no proven running game, throwing check downs to Heath could happen on the reg.

25. TONY SCHEFFLER – TE – DET (9)

Scheffler can easily be the #2 option in the Lions passing game this season.  If Pettigrew has drop problems, Scheffler will find his way to grab a nice chunk of Tony’s 4000  Passing Yards.

26. ROB HOUSLER – TE – ARI (9)

Housler is much more athletic than fantasy football fans make him out to be.  The Cardinals finally have a QB capable of a 300 Yard game, and Housler should be able to take advantage as the Cardinals could be in for a long season.  The only bad news for Housler is the fact Malcolm Floyd/Andre Roberts could be used way more often as the #3/#4 option as Larry Fitzgerald is #1/#2.

TIER 6

27. TYLER EIFERT – TE – CIN (12)

1st Round pick who can steal all of Gresham’s thunder.  Eifert has upside and upside is the only thing you can guarantee when Gresham/A.J. Green are on the same team as the #2 TE.  Watch closely this preseason.

28. ANTHONY FASANO – TE – KC (10)

Fasano has always been a redzone threat who ends up with less than 50 Yards or a random TD.  With Alex Smith at QB, look for Fasano to be much better than advertised.  Smith loves the TEs as he made Vernon Davis the BEAST he once was.  The Chiefs also are somewhat thin with the unproven Jonathan Baldwin as the #2 WR.  Bowe will get the targets, Fasano will cleanup the mess.

29. DELANIE WALKER – TE – TEN (8)

Delanie escapes the shadow of Vernon Davis for the first time.  With no Jared Cook, Locker could use Walker often.  But be aware, the Titans have three talents WRs who will be game in and game out WR#2/WR#3 options.  With that being said, look for Walker to have his weeks.  Good Bench option.

30. DWAYNE ALLEN – TE – IND (8)

Allen would be a TE#1, if Andrew Luck did not have his college TE right next to him.  Fleener is a threat to outscore Allen every week, and visa versa.  Which means, avoid.

31. COBY FLEENER – TE – IND (8)

Fleener is going to steal Dwayne Allen’s numbers, Allen is going to steal Fleener’s numbers.  Coby was the TE for Luck at Stanford, but that credential is slowly not mattering anymore.

32. BEN WATSON – TE – NO (7)

Being an option in the Drew Brees Saints offense already gives you an edge.  When you have as much experience as Ben Watson and have Jimmy Graham on the opposite side of you.  Look for Watson be much more consistent than you originally thought.

33. ED DICKSON – TE – BAL (8)

With Dennis Pitta out for the season, Dickson breathes some fantasy life for the sleeper TD.

34. JOEL DREESSEN – TE – DEN (9)

Dreessen’s potential is capped by this deep Broncos team.  It’s hard to say Joel is the Redzone with this talented bunch, which makes him nothing better than a TE#2 at the very best.  The nickname for Joel this season, “The Broncos Killer.”  He will steal TDs from your other Broncos.

35. ZACH SUDFELD – TE – NE (10)

36. KELLEN WINSLOW – TE – NYJ (10)

While you want to get excited about Winslow moving to a new team, you have to remember it is not 2008 anymore.  Kellen is very slow and on his last leg after his horrific ACL injury in his rookie season has never allowed Winslow to be the man we know he can be.  With that being said, Mark Sanchez is his QB.  Which means, do not draft Winslow.

37. ZACH MILLER – TE – SEA (12)

Miller was once an easy Top 10 TE.  After concussion’s, the addition of Percy Harvin to go along with Sidney Rice and Golden Tate.  Not to mention the 20  Touches Marshawn Lynch should get every week.  Miller is not trustworthy.

38. JAKE BALLARD – TE – NE (10)

TIER 7

39. JACOB TAMME – TE – DEN (9)

Tamme is an automatic 50 Yards.  But automatic is a bad word when Joel Dreessen is an option to steal targets every week.  While Peyton has trust in Tamme since his Colt days, it is hard to trust Tamme as a fantasy option with how deep/talented this WR/TE combo of the Broncos is.

40. GARRETT GRAHAM – TE – HOU (8)

Graham will have some sleeper weeks as the #2 TE for the Texans.  For the most part, he is going to leave with you close to zero.

41. LUKE STOCKER – TE – TB (5)

Do not put your stock in Luke.  The only weeks to potentially user Stocker is when the Bucs play the Saints, otherwise you will be lucky to get 60 Yards.

42. JAMES CASEY – TE – PHI (12)

Casey is a redzone monster.  When you play as the #2 or #3 TE for the Texans, you learn how to find the endzone.  Look for Casey to steal TDs from Celek.

43. DAVID AUSBERRY – TE – OAK (7)

Ausberry is a blocker who can steal a random TD from Darren McFadden in the Redzone.  The only reason to draft Ausberry, if Pancakes is a stat in your league.

  1. Should I keep forte over Rodgers in order to stick to your draft strategy? 12-team league, most keepers are Rb’s except 2 wr’s, making our RB pool even shallower. 6 pt passing td’s though. Thanks!

  3. Dont agree with TY Hilton being ranked that far down. He will outperform his stats from last season. No evidence of a solid running game from the Colts. Great site, agree with most if not all the rest of the rankings besides TY Hilton’s extremely low ranking.

  4. Everyone what’s up? Munt my latest draft went like this(10th pick in 10 team standard league)- Lynth, Richardson, Murray, Gronk, Welker, Nelson, Ball, Boldin, Romo, Lance Moore, Josh Gordon, Cook, Freeman, k-combo, T.B def. What I would like to know is towards the back end of the draft J. Stewart was available as late as rnd 11-12. As you can see I passed on him. Should I have chosen wr Gordon or rb Stewart? Why?
Also, which has priority backing up a qb or handcuffing rb1? Why?
Thanks Munt! And a good luck to all, unless your in my League :)

  5. Hey Munt and beastdome community. Just had my draft yesterday and came out with:
    QB: Cam Newton
    RB: Jamaal Charles
    RB: Demarco Murray
    WR: Larry Fitzgerald
    WR: Reggie Wayne
    TE: Vernon Davis
    Flex: Torrey Smith
    D/ST: Texans
    kicker: David Akers

    Bench:
    Fred Davis
    Josh Gordon
    Le’veon Bell
    Jonathan Stewart
    Mark Ingram
    Kniles Davis

Any of my positions weak and need improvement? Any general hints to improve would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  6. Hey Munt and beastdome community. Just had my draft yesterday. 12 team PPR league and came out with:

    TE: Vernon Davis
    Flex: Torrey Smith

  7. TY still isn’t a starter in Indy. But you can’t deny he is a TD threat every time he touches the ball. As far as the running game Bradshaw will be healthy come week 1.

  8. 9th pick in a 10 man ended up like this :
    QB: Colin Kaepernick
    RB: Trent Richardson
    RB: LeSean McCoy
    Flex: Montee Ball
    WR: Steve Smith
    WR: DeSean Jackson
    TE: Gronk
    K: Phil Dawson
    D/ST: Patriots

Bench: Ahmad Bradshaw, Miles Austin, Anquan Boldin, Ben Tate(someone grabbed my handcuff right before this pick), Jared Cook, Chris Givens, Josh Freeman

How did I turn out? What moves should I be looking to make first? Sadly Just missed Nicks for my WR1 :(

  9. What’s up Muntz?

I grabbed Gronk and missed out on Ball. I feel like an idiot for letting him get away from me. I’m thinking of trading for Ball. Who should I try and get Ball for, out of this list? I would give two, if needed.

    Antonio Brown
Cecil Shorts ( I can pick up Blackmon..free agent)
    Andre Brown
    Obviously Ronnie Hillman

  10. Love the ranks…cannot figure out why the Green Bay WR1/2 are worse than NYG WR1/2.
Thanks for the time to help us all out.

  11. Team is BEASTsquad material minus one thing.

You do not have good RB depth, which will be a problem if you suffer one injury. Be ready to watch the Waiver Wire.

  12. Munt,

Stumbled upon your site at the end of last year and it really helped my squad. Thinking about getting the Beast Package this year. Wondering if you could help me out.

Went with your RB strategy (round 1-4) but Gronk was taken 1 pick before me in the 3rd! Ended up with this in a 10 team – 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1RB/WR, DST, K…

    QB: Romo
RB: Lynch, MJD, Reggie Bush,Demarco, Tate, J-Stew
WR: Jordy, Amendola,DeSean Jackson, Miles Austin, Percy
    TE: Jared Cook
    DST: Bucs

The guy that took Gronk from me has this…
QB: Russell Wilson (First Round!!), Big Ben, Weeden
    RB: Richardson, Ingram, Knowshon
WR: Brandon Marshall, Reg Wayne, Mike Wallace, Sid Rice, Emmanuel Sanders
    TE: Gronk, Antonio Gates
    DST: Pats
    K: Bryant

He obviously needs a RB. Do I go after Gronk with Reggie or Demarco? Or should I stick it out with Cook? Any other suggestions for my squad?

    K: Dan Bailey

  13. Your team is BEASTING

go ahead and keep your team, Cook will get the job done.

The RB depth you have will have him begging at your feet later on in the season, where you can walk away with Gronk.

If you want to do a trade now.

    Offer: Murray and Miles Austin

    for

    Gronk and Reggie Wayne.

Do not accept anything less than that, but I would personally hold onto the RB depth.

  14. Hey everyone, I’m in a 12 team ppr league, and my team is:
    Qb: Andrew Luck
    RB1: Doug martin
    RB2: Reggie Bush
    Wr1: Antonio Brown
    WR2: Anquan Boldin
    Flex: Demarco Murray
    TE: Rob Gronkowski
    D/ST: Rams
    K: Vanitieri

    Bench:
    Tyler Eifert
    Lamar Miller
    Golden Tate
    Lance Moore
    Vincent Brown
    Ryan Broyles

I’m trying to trade for a better backup TE and for Montee Ball. I wanted to know if there was any way that I can pull this off without giving out too much?

  15. Great point. I’ll hold off for now. What do you think I should do in my “Big league”? Messed up and took Peyton first round and left me with this…

QB Peyton, Freeman (Claim submitted for Eli who was just dropped)
RB Demarco, McFadden, Bush, Tate, Knile Davis
WR Brandon Marshall, Garcon, Boldin, LaFell, Heyward-Bey, Percy
    TE Owen Daniels
    DST Bucs
    K Bailey

Don’t feel great about this one. What would you look for here?

  16. How’d i do? 10 man PPR
    Qb Matthew stafford,russel Wilson
    Rb- McCoy,Morris,r bush, ball
Wr- Bowe,d Jackson, m Austin ,v brown, l Moore, hartline
    Te- gronkwoski,f Davis
    Pk- Akers
    Defense – Tampa bay

  17. Your team is in good shape to beast it out Matt M. Your Defense you might have to swap around but we will see how the first few games look like for the Bucs.

  32. Hi there this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience.
Any help would be enormously appreciated!
