TESTIMONIAL

– STRANGERDANGER100

I told Munt to give me an alias so nobody found out in my league I was a VIP!  While cruising the internets looking for a good fantasy football site, I came across a link to Beastdome.  At first, I was like what the hell is this and what the hell is a muntradamus??  I straight up thought it was going to be a porn site in disguise of a fantasy football site.  I clicked anyways lol.

I started to look at the website and began reading the articles, catchy titles, whitty writing style, this was my kind of site.  I began following what Munt was writing, taking his suggestions and started winning!  It just clicked this guy knows what he’s talking about.  The kid in the video with the 2 hot chicks in baseball gear knows what’s up!  At first I would cruise through the site once or twice a day, which began to become 3, then 4 times a day. 5 times a day, waiting on any new article to drop.  I’m checking twitter, reading everything and finally I get the nerve to ask a question.  Immediate response and I won my match that week!  It was a done deal, I needed to become a VIP.    I went on to get 3rd place in my league and won 8 straight games based on his analysis and help.  Not only that, he has completely revamped the VIP section and I’m taking that top spot this year!  Munt is a winner and if you like winning then you need to get on board.  We’re going to BEAST this year!

FANTASY FOOTBALL PRESEASON (WEEK 2 REPORT)

VALUE UP

GIOVANI BERNARD – RB – CIN

Last week I had Giovani Bernard on the wrong list, he looked soft and easy to tackle.  The Bengals decided to give Giovani his audition this week as a starter, and he impressed.  Not only did he look explosive at times, as well as getting the goal line TD.  He made the Bengals offense more of a threat.  Even with no A.J. Green, Andy Dalton was able to move the ball at will to his new 2nd Favorite target.  Mohammed Sanu.

Giovani gets a HUGE ranking boost.

ANDREW LUCK – QB – IND

I may have been down on Andrew Luck too much.  He is really making the QB position look easy this preseason, or the Raiders/Giants have horrible pass defenses.  There is a possibility of both, but Luck is playing too well to be Ranked behind Josh Freeman in my Rankings.  The West Coast offense is exactly what the doctor ordered, Reggie Wayne is in for a big year as well.

FALCONS DEFENSE – D/ST – ATL

Last season the Falcons had a problem with run Defense.  This preseason, they are looking impressive.  They shut down Giovani Bernard in Week 1, then in Week 2 they did the near impossible

RAY RICE: 8 Carries. 10 Yards

Little Ray could not get anything going against the new and improved M. Night Shyamalan Falcons Defense.  You never know what they plan on doing, but this season stopping the Run will be consistent.  Upgrade in Rankings is due.

STEVEN JACKSON – RB – ATL

The Falcons wanted to show Steven Jackson how life can be as a Falcon.  They gave him the ball 5 Times in a row, after that he made a big play in the passing game to pick up 13 Yards.  Falcons eventually kicked the FG.  ATL is doing all the right things to give Steven Jackson the confidence he needs to now to TEAR it up this season.  He looks Big and Strong, this is your new Jamal Anderson.

REGGIE BUSH – RB – DET

Did not take long for Matt Stafford to realize that Reggie Bush is going to be the Lions #2 WR this season.  Stafford was throwing to Reggie nearly every time in the 2nd quarter once he realized that this guy has amazing speed.  The Lions need to be more explosive this season, almost like “The Greatest Show On Turf” the Rams were coined back in the Marshall Faulk/Kurt Warner days.  This team is close to hitting that level.  If Stafford had a legitimate #2 WR that was not Reggie Bush, this offense would be next level.

BROWNS OFFENSE – CLE – QB/RB/WR/TE

Cam Cameron is turning this Browns offense into the San Diego Chargers circa LaDanian Tomlinson days.  Let that sink in for a moment, that is how good Trent Richardson could be.  Brandon Weeden is going to have a nice sleeper Philip Rivers type of season.  Jordan Cameron is going to play the Antonio Gates role.   He was a BEAST DOME favorite in 2012, Ranked Higher than all the experts to start preseason.  They have now caught on.  Josh Gordon is going to be the teams Vincent Jackson.  He is not nearly as big, but he is probably faster which makes up for the fact.  He also has great chemistry with Brandon Weeden, always has.  All of these players get a boost.

LESEAN MCCOY – RB – PHI

The Eagles are going feed LeSean McCoy the ball so much, he will probably get more touches a game than Matt Schaub gets pass attempts.  He is looking as explosive as ever, and with a revamped Michael Vick, the sky is really the limit in this Chip Kelly offense.  It is not Shady to draft LeSean McCoy with the #3 pick in your draft in your Fantasy Football Draft.  Especially in PPR leagues.

ANTONIO GATES – TE – SD

For the second straight week, Antonio Gates gets upgraded to the list of players who are seeing their value go up.  Philip Rivers trusted Antonio Gates on nearly every pass.  With the loss of Danario Alexander, Rivers has no choice but to make Antoio Gates turn back the clock to 2008.  Do not be surprised if we see the old Gates, the Rankings reflection will show it.

VIKINGS DEFENSE – D/ST – MIN

The Vikings Run Defense is back.  People were afraid they lost a step losing one of the Williams’ in the middle of that interior.  They are proving quickly that this is a system defense.  C.J. Spiller could not get anything done against this defense as he failed to have any explosive runs.  I will put this on Kevin Kolb more than Spiller, but that is going to be an issue too often as Kolb is one of the worst QBs in the NFL.

TOM BRADY – QB – NE

‘Tom Terrific’ controlled the game last a pro.  The Patriots controlled the ball for so long, Josh Freeman only got 2 Series of action in 2 quarters.  There really is not a better QB in the game, but the loss of Wes Welker/Aaron Hernandez really cuts down on the potential of the star QB.  He will get his numbers, but he also may just take up a lot of clock and the team ends up running in the TD.  Danny Amendola is his clear #1 WR, Rob Gronkowski is going to make all the difference.

TONY ROMO – QB – DAL

No Romo, Tony looks very good this preseason.  The conclusion you have to come to is simple.  He has such amazing weapons with Dez Bryant/Miles Austin/Jason Witten, that he really can’t fail.  If he fails with this offense, he does not deserve to be a stater ever again in the NFL.  Last season these players were beat up coming into the year (Miles Austin, Jason Witten).  This season everyone is healthy, and they are so overdue for a playoff run.  DeMarco Murray is looking like a BEAST which will open everything up.

LARRY FITZGERALD – WR – ARI

Fitzgerald owners can breathe easily.  I have been saying it all Preseason, but last night it was on display for the second week in a row.  Larry Fitzgerald finally has a QB he can trust, and that his fantasy owners trust.  Carson Palmer is not only going to throw Fitzgerald the ball, he will throw him the ball if he is triple teamed.  This Cardinals team can be a big sleeper as Palmer can take advantage of open WRs if they triple Fitzgerald, unlike the other jokers they had back there.

HAKEEM NICKS – WR – NYG

No Victor Cruz, but Nicks was good enough to be the #1/#2/#3 WR for Eli Manning on Sunday Night.  Do not be surprised when Nicks and Cruz are on the field at the same time, Eli still does not favor Nicks.  Last season and the season before, Nicks would get more targets often than Cruz when both played.  Victor is more explosive, Nicks is more of the bigger body in traffic WR.  Both will play both roles throughout the year, and both should make Eli Manning a better QB than we think.

VALUE DOWN

ALFRED MORRIS – RB – WAS

‘Alfredo Sauce’ lost his 3rd down duties to Roy Helu Jr.  I warned of this issue in the last Preseason recap, and now it is official.  Helu Jr. will be the 3rd Down back and immediate backup to Alfred Morris.  While the word ‘Backup’ makes you feel safe, let us be real.

Last season the only reason Alfred Morris had zero competition for touches was because Roy Helu Jr. tore his ACL early in the season.  Coach Shanahan is notorious for switching his RBs at will, even if nothing seems wrong with the starter.  Helu as a starter with the Redskins in 2011 won a lot of people their Fantasy Football Leagues as he was clutch to end the season.

LE’VEON BELL – RB – PIT

The Steelers want Bell to be the ‘Cowbell’ RB.  That is not going to happen as Le’Veon has done nothing to separate himself from the pack.  Not only has he not seperated himself, he looks worst than Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman.  This RB core is too deep in Pittsburgh, and although Bell will eventually get his big-time role.  He is still weeks away at the earliest.

RONNIE HILLMAN – RB – DEN

It happened.  Ronnie Hillman was given every opportunity to run away with the starting RB job against the tough Seahawks Defense.  It did not take him long to look horrible.  Not only did he Fumble twice, once he recovered.  He completely changed the game when the Broncos gave him his test.

SEATTLE (17) – DENVER (7)

2nd Quarter. 12:00 min

BRONCOS 1st and 10 on SEA 14

1st-10, SEA14 12:00 R. Hillman rushed up the middle for 3 yard gain
2nd-7, SEA11 11:30 R. Hillman rushed to the left for 2 yard gain
3rd-5, SEA9 10:47 R. Hillman rushed to the right for 4 yard gain
4th-1, SEA5 10:23 R. Hillman rushed to the left for 3 yard gain
1st-2, SEA2 9:56 R. Hillman rushed up the middle for 1 yard gain
2nd-1, SEA1 8:54 R. Hillman rushed to the right for no gain. R. Hillman fumbled. B. Browner recovered fumble and returned for 106 yards. Seattle committed 15 yard penalty.

The 15 Yard Penalty was excessive celebration.  Celebration that Montee Ball should be named the starting RB after one good showing in a Preseason game.  When he runs with the 1st Team offense, it is game over.

STEVAN RIDLEY – RB – NEP

Riddle me this, how is Stevan going to remain consistent with LeGarrette Blount looking better than ever, and Shane Vereen becoming a constant threat in the Patriots offensive attack?

The answer is, Bill Belichick will find a way to ruin fantasy owners throughout the season when they least expect it.  All three of these players will make up a Monster that nobody wants to face, similar to the Saints.  Stevan Ridley value goes down.

ARIAN FOSTER – RB – HOU

It is a long Fantasy Football Season, and Arian Foster is already beat up.  He is getting injections in his back, he has been over worked consistently.  The good news is, Arian Foster is maybe the best overall RB in Fantasy Football.  The bad news is, Ben Tate is in a contract year and the Texans want to make sure Arian Foster is healthy for the playoffs.

If you add up that equation, Ben Tate will see a larger role in 2013 than he did in 2012.  When the Texans are up by 21 Points in the late 3rd Quarter, why would they not just give Ben Tate every carry to close out the game.  Arian Foster value down, Ben Tate aka ‘Booby Miles’ from Friday Night Lights, value up.

LAMAR MILLER – RB – MIA

Daniel Thomas could be back to his old 100 Yard Version he flashed as a rookie.  DT was one of the most lethal Running Backs in the game for those two weeks of the season, before falling off the earth and giving Reggie Bush his job back.

With Reggie no longer in the picture, only Lamar Miller was the player for Daniel Thomas to beat.  So far through the preseason, Daniel Thomas looks like the better/stronger player than Miller will ever be.  This has RBBC written all over it, as I projected in my Preseason Notes.

ROB GRONKOWSKI – TE – NEP

Rob is likely out Week 1/Week 2.  He should be back by Week 3, which is plenty of time to get the full value out of Gronk you want.  He is going to be a Monster in this Tom Brady Offense who will make defenses pay if they double-team Gronk.  The reason he is downgraded, you can now grab him in Round 4 of your draft with confidence.  That is a steal as he is a 1st Round pick if he came into this season 100%.

BRONCOS DEFENSE – D/ST – DEN

First Von Miller may be suspended the first 6 games.  Now Champ Bailey has a serious leg injury that will take some time to heal.  The Broncos defense and their passing game will be hurting without their best pass rusher/cover corner.  The unit gets a big downgrade, they will be stronger to end the year.

EAGLES DEFENSE – D/ST – PHI

This defense was once a Top 3 Unit in Fantasy Football.  At least that is what their preseason hype was for the last two seasons.  With all of their big name corners gone, and the loss of Jason Babin.  This Eagles defense is very vulnerable and not good at all.  DeMeco Ryans will get his tackles, Trent Cole will be interesting, but that is all this team has.

BEARS OFFENSIVE LINE – QB/RB/WR/TE – CHI

While Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, and Matt Forte have been looking good this preseason.  The offensive line for the Bears is still very weak.  This will hurt the team only at certain times and certain matchups during the season, but it is never a good thing when you allow back-to-back sacks on the first two plays of the game.  Especially against the Chargers who have more defensive problems than good things you can say about this team.

BILLS OFFENSE – QB/RB/WR/TE – BUF

The injury to EJ Manuel is devastating.  While he could be back Week 1/Week 2, the question is.  Will he remain the same QB despite the minor knee surgery.  This seems to be a horrible time to be getting the procedure as these preseason reps would be huge.  I will not downgrade the players too much as the Kevin Kolb experiment should end quickly.  I just wanted to see Manuel get more confidence during this Preseason.

RAIDERS – OAK

They have not been full strength yet on defense, so I will keep giving them more audition time.  In summary, their defense looks beyond horrible this Preseason.  Teams are driving at will, and while it is the Colts/Saints.  They will not be competitive if they cannot slow them down.  Matt Flynn also made the Saints defense look respectable, which is something you may laugh at during the regular season.

JETS DEFENSE – D/ST – NYJ

Jets Defense made Blaine Gabbert look like a legitimate QB.  They made him look so good, the Jags are going to give him the Week 1 nod.  Start licking your chops when your team faces up against this Rex Ryan joke.

JAGUARS DEFENSE – D/ST – JAX

I already had the Jaguars as one of the worst defenses in the Fantasy Football.  After making Mark Sanchez look like the QB the Jets always wanted him to be, it is official this team is horrible.  Put a big Gold Star on your calendar when your players play Jacksonville.

  1. Hey Munt,

Like the Bernard opinion – among others – totally waiting on TE for Cameron in my drafts. You’ve really got me ready to take the plunge on Montee with my 1.04 pick in a keeper FA draft. I need the couple of guys in front of me not to pick him in order for this to happen. If it does, you think that it’s worth the gamble on Bernard with the same pick? He’d be a weak RB2 (with Martin my RB1 and Deymaryius and Fitz as my WRs) in my 0.5 ppr league, but he is in a dynamic offence and his value is point in in the right direction for years to come. McFadden might also be available, but with their LT out for the season and being a Raider fan, I don’t know if I can stomach the disappointment should he go/when he goes down again. Thus I’m thinking Ball or Bernard.

  2. Hey Munt?

What did you see specifically in the redskins game that makes you think alfred will lose a ton of time to helu? U have morris as a keeper that I need to take.. and I specifically saw that helu had no carries or targets when alfred left the game. So I’m curious what you saw that has you down on him

  3. Hey Munt, thanks for the detailed analysis, no one gives this much information and I’m feeling strong about the season already. I’ve got my draft coming up Sunday and am honing in on the exact targets thanks to your help. 14 team PPR league, keepers. My only question is do I keep Reggie Wayne for my 4th rd pick (#43)? Possible Gronk/Montee selection there if they fall.
