DON’T CHOKE VOL. I

Is a collection of players that will be updated leading up to the Fantasy Playoffs.  Don’t choke features players that are likely to crush your dreams if you decide to either Keep Them (If you can still trade), or Start Them (Bench Them).  These are players who are going to lose Fantasy Value now, and only hurt you as the season progresses as they choke in the Playoffs.

R.O.S Rankings on the bottom.

FRANK GORE – RB – SF

Opening up with a pick that really cannot afford to choke this week against the Saints.  Frank Gore does not have the fresh legs he once had 5 years ago as a RB in this league.   The season is getting into the 4th quarter where veterans typically tend to slow down.

WEEK 13 – @ STL
WEEK 14 – VS. MIA
WEEK 15 – @ NE
WEEK 16 – @ SEA
WEEK 17 – VS. ARI

None of those are excellent matchups and Kendall Hunter can always take more carries.  Frank the Tank is a player I would move now in a trade after he does well this week. DON’T CHOKE!

LARRY FITZGERALD – WR – ARI

All season long I have been telling you trade Larry Fitzgerald, now his owners are on their death beds as they watch Ryan Lindley throw to the hall-of-famer.  They might as well have a tryout before the game to see if any fan wants to throw to Fitzgerald, because those are likely his best throws he will see all day.  After this week, the schedule gets down right awful.

WEEK 13 – @ NYJ
WEEK 14 – @ SEA
WEEK 15 – VS. DET
WEEK 16 – VS. CHI
WEEK 17 – @ SF

Besides Week 15, unless his QB is John Skelton or Kevin Kolb, Fitzgerald is hardly a safe WR#2.

MICHAEL TURNER – RB – ATL

Turner the Burner is burnt out.  He randomly reminds us of his vintage days with 90 Yards or a TD.  But right now he is playing like a washed up goal line RB.  The Falcons are going to start going Vertical to get their passing as ELITE as it can be heading into the Post-Season, because that is what is going to win this team the Super Bowl.

WEEK 13 – VS. NO
WEEK 14 – @ CAR
WEEK 15 – VS. NYG
WEEK 16 – @ DET
WEEK 17 – VS. TB

By the time we get to Week 16, the Falcons will be on the JacQuizz Rodgers train as Turner only has a good matchup in Week 13 to save his season.  The Panthers defense has improved and that Week 14 matchup is not so pretty anymore.  You can always hope for the goal line TD, but Turner’s best days are long long long long gone.

BEANIE WELLS – RB – ARI

This got good before it even started.  Beanie enters a terrible situation where teams will stack the box with confidence against Ryan Lindley or whatever QB the Cardinals throw back there.  Beanie is a good RB, but he often ends up getting swarmed tackle as he is a huge target plodding up the middle.  The Cardinals are looking like one of the worst teams to end the season.  Larry Fitzgerald above would agree.

WEEK 13 – @ NYJ
WEEK 14 – @ SEA
WEEK 15 – VS. DET
WEEK 16 – VS. CHI
WEEK 17 – @ SF

Just keep hoping for those goal line TDs, or John Skleton going back to the QB position.

JAMAAL CHARLES/DWAYNE BOWE – RB/WR – KC

Brady Quinn will never have a game where he throws for 300 Yards and 2 TDs.  Which means a lot of pressure on Jamaal Charles in a running game that can be stopped when the defense really does not have to worry about the pass.  With Dwyane Bowe playing at such a low level because of his QB play.  You can just about call it quits with all Chiefs players.  The schedule is not bad, but the QB makes every matchup terrible.

WEEK 13 – VS. CAR
WEEK 14 – @ CLE
WEEK 15 – @ OAK
WEEK 16 – VS. IND
WEEK 17 – @ DEN

Let someone else chase that schedule if they will give you talent in return.

    1. You got it JT

Based on my R.O.S Rankings. Sproles is not even in the same category as these players, his value is long gone.

  1. Couldn’t disagree more re: Charles. He’ll be a solid RB2 down the stretch….certainly better than the waste of space that Mathews is. Yes, I am a bitter RM owner.
