MAKING IT RAINEY Week 12

BEAST DOME NATION.

Being a VIP member gives you the edge it takes to win your league.  Last week, I gave that edge to the BEAST DOME NATION as well.  I wrote a segement in last weeks wire article comparing Leonard vs. Rainey.

DILEMMA

RAINEY VS. LEONARD

Winner

BOBBY RAINEY – RB – TB

Brian Leonard is going to be involved a lot, but Rainey has the CJ Spiller type of speed that makes him interesting.  While a CJ Spiller comparison may be giving him too much credit, he is worth a stash now that Mike James is out for the season.  Brian Leonard is an okay stash as well, both rankings are reflected in the rankings up top.

DWAYNE BOWE – WR – KC

Bowe has been garbage all season.  It is more on Alex Smith than Dwayne Bowe, Alex Smith is not a very capable QB. BUT..

If the Chiefs have any chance of making it deep in the playoffs, they need their passing game to get going with some momentum.  Otherwise they will not compete if they fall behind.  They have the matchups to get Bowe on track who needs to take over.

Week 16: vs. IND

Week 15: @ Oak

Week 14: @ WAS

RAY RICE – RB – BAL

Like Torrey Smith, Ravens Schedule is favorable.  You cannot get a 1st/2nd Round Pick for any lower of a price than this.  Grab Ray Rice, overpay a litte, and hope the law of gravity is true for Ray Rice.

Week 14: vs. MIN

Week 15: @ DET

WAIVER WIRE WEEK 12

MAKING IT RAINEY

The first question everyone wants to know is.  How good is this guy, and will I ever use him in my Fantasy Football lineup.  Before we answer that question, lets ask ourselves.  Does he have a good schedule.

WEEK 12 @ DET

WEEK 13 @ CAR

WEEK 14 VS. BUF

WEEK 15 VS. SF

WEEK 16 @ STL

WEEK 17 @ NO

When looking at this schedule, you do see potential for some nice games coming up.  He is not a shoe-in RB #2, but he has the potential to be that when the game looks good on paper.  He has clearly passed Brian Leonard and is now easily a threat to be on every Fantasy Roster moving forward.

In the end, he is approaching the CJ Spiller value I once I projected when I saw him on Monday Night.

  1. ppr league. Mathews, s jax, or montee ball at flex. I got, romo/bailey, stacy, Charles, Gordon, garcon, graham, kc dst starting right now. Thanks!

  2. Young Montee, but depends on how much you need the win. Ball has the highest ceiling imo, but also poses a significant risk in not getting the carries. Safe play is Mathews.

  3. I would go with Mathews out of those options. I am benching Ball for Mathews this week on my team.

  4. Who do you guys like for RB2 this week? Ryan Mathews or Chris Ivory? (Shady is on a bye so Le’Veon is promoted to RB1 for this week).

  5. if I had ivory and Mathews id go ivory. He’s looks to be settled in as the lead guy..has a better chance for redzone work than Mathews. Not being used around the goalline is the only thing I hate as a Mathews owner.

  6. Yeah I hear you on that, it was nice to see him get that carry for the TD vs. the Broncos although he was sitting on my bench since I assumed it would be a blowout haha. I am a diehard Pats fan so needless to say Woodhead is one of my favorite players, but he’s killing me for fantasy! Why couldn’t Mathews be contending with just Ronnie Brown and Jackie Battle this season where he’s actually playing well enough to render them useless! I like Ivory too, but the one thing that keeps sticking out in my mind is how those 34 carries vs the Pats were deemed “game plan specific” to take advantage of no Wilfork… then you see him get 6 carries against a legitimate run D in Cincy, and then a bulk of carries against New Orleans and Buffalo. I almost want to sit him one more week to see if they still use him vs Baltimore’s legit run D… being too cautious?

  7. If you are worried I say go with the guy whose been getting the consistent bulk of the carries…Mathews. If they keep it close, his chances might be better of scoring. Chargers should give that guy more redzone work..he does look good running the ball. I don’t like to wish injury on anyone, but I wouldn’t mind seeing woodhead tweak a hammy or ankle. LOL. I picked Mathews in the 5th round in one league.
