WEEK 4 FANTASY FOOTBALL BUSTS

QB

RUSSELL WILSON – SEA

ECR #11

MUNTRADAMUS #18

Russell Wilson did a good vulturing Marshawn Lynch’s TDs in Week 3.  Experts are too high on those 4 TDs which should have been all BEAST mode, at least two of them.  Look for Wilson to be typical Wilson with 250 Yards passing and the maybe TD.  Not going to be a high scoring game in that one.  Houston’s defense has been amazing, good starting field position for the opponent has been their Kryptonite.

PHILLIP RIVERS – SD

ECR #12

MUNTRADAMUS #23

Rivers had some good games early on, but the Dallas Cowboys are a strong defense this season.  Rivers does not have the weapons he needs to have a big game in the air against this improved Monte Kiffin unit.  2 75 Yards and 1 TD is possible, but I am not seeing a start worthy here in 12 team leagues, even 20 team leagues.

RB

ARIAN FOSTER – HOU

ECR #12

MUNTRADAMUS #20

Arian Foster is only a shade of the RB he once was.  Obviously not 100%, Foster looks like a RB who cannot take on a full work load.  Especially against a fast hard hitting defense like the Seahawks.  Foster will get his touches in the 15-20 range, the Texans are going with the ‘Live another day’ mode with Arian.  Look for them to continue that trend.

LAMAR MILLER – MIA

ECR #21

MUNTRADAMUS #30

The Dolphins are  traveling to the Saints on Monday Night Football.  Lamar Miller has had a few good runs this season, but mostly is a RB who goes down on the first guy to lay a finger on him.  The Saints defense is improved, and unless Lamar Miller busts out a long TD.  His week is not going to leave you satisfied.  The next coming of David Wilson before our very eyes.

DARYL RICHARDSON – STL

ECR #30

MUNTRADAMUS #42

Check.

WR

ANDRE JOHNSON – HOU

ECR #19

MUNTRADAMUS #30

I like Andre a lot as a player.  AJ80 is his name, 120 yards is his game.  Against Seattle’s secondary and Johnson at less than 100%, he is barely worth a start in 10 Team Leagues.  If you have the depth to replace him, this is a week you can safely bench him.  Even if he somehow gets the TD, 60 Yards seems like a realistic number to shoot for.

LARRY FITZGERALD – ARI

ECR #15

MUNTRADAMUS #26

Larry is one of the most talented WRs in the game.  He is also not at his peak in health.  Traveling to Tampa Bay where the team is starving for a win, and Darrelle Revis/Mark Barron watching his every move.  You can expect Fitzgerald to have a Sunday to forget.  I will go with the same 60 Yards is the max performance you really can expect.  Fitzgerald does have the size and athleticism near the goal line to get that gift TD to help boost his day.  That is really what you are banking on as a Fitz owner.

TE

TONY GONZALEZ – ATL

ECR #6

MUNTRADAMUS #11

Every week I put Tony G. on the list.  Every week experts keep ranking him lower and lower.  New England is a special circumstance because big players like to show up in big games.  Tony G will show up and likely get the redzone TD to save his day.  40 Yards is the realistic number to expect as he has definitely lost a step.

K

GREG ZUERLEIN – STL

ECR #10

MUNTRADAMUS #20

Check.

D/ST

SEAHAWKS D/ST – SEA

ECR #1

MUNTRADAMUS #9

All of a sudden their team name makes sense.  With a secondary of Sea Hawks, this unit is almost impossible to get any passing yards on.  Unless you are Chad Henne/Cecil Shorts in garbage time.  The Seahawks will play this game tough, but on the road in Houston does not make them the #1 unit.  Sacks won’t be easy to come by, and you can definitely expect each team to play ball control.  Look for this to be a low scoring boring game with maybe 2 TDs.

  1. Tough situation for all three; New QB for WIlliams, new QB for Jennings and possibly new QB for Streater if Pryor is out. Streater has the better matchup since Washington D is terrible. Jennings is the better talent and at least Cassel knew to get the ball to D-Bowe last year so he may look to Jennings as a safety net. I’d probably roll with Jennings especially if Pryor is out.

  2. 10-team PPR: Bowe or Shorts at WR? Spiller, MJD, Le’Veon Bell, Bowe/Shorts or Hopkins at flex? Appreciate your insight.

  3. Not sure: shorts vs a divisional oppononent he owned in FP twice last year. spiller at flex its in buffalo, bal isnt great, and hes going to bust a big one at some point (and probably while in buffalo)

ukbsktbll: full disclosure… im a bills fan, so i was gonna say pryor at was. but the bills 2 best corners and best safety is out, and lets face it, there are 100 players in fantasy that have has their breakout day vs the bills d

  4. Both are juicy defenses to start against. I would go with Flaco. They may hold Pryor back with his concussion issue.
