FANTASY FOOTBALL BUSTS:

The Brady Bunch (Week 2)

BEAST DOME NATION.

The results have come in for Week 1.  Not as good of a start as last season, but a good building point for me to continue to feed off of.  The players in this article is players I have big differential over the others on FantasyPros.  The ECR = Expert Consensus Ranking, the other rankings is my ranking.  Remember, just because I have a player on this list does not mean bench them.  I am just giving you their value on where I am going to rank them, some come with a lot more risk than others, while others have upside.

FANTASY FOOTBALL BUSTS (Week 2)

QB BUST OF WEEK 2

TOM BRADY – NEP – QB

ECR #8

MUNTRADAMUS #13

Touchdown Tommy turned into less than 200 Yard Tommy.  I wish I ranked him lower, but I expected at least 2 TDs.  Still a good call to start the week.  *This pick was locked in before Thursday Nights game.

MATT STAFFORD – DET – QB

ECR #7

MUNTRADAMUS #14

The Arizona Cardinals defense is no joke.  Patrick Peterson should do his best to keep Megatron from being a Monster.  That is enough to not like Stafford as a Top 10 option.

RUSSELL WILSON – SEA – QB

ECR #14

MUNTRADAMUS #23

The Seahawks are going to run-run-run-run-run-run-run.  Not a good week to depend on Russell Wilson and that arm.

RB BUST OF WEEK 2

JAMAAL CHARLES – KC – RB

ECR #4

MUNTRADAMUS #11

Jamaal will still have nice week just missing out on a top 10 performance.  But Top 5?  That is pushing it against this Dallas Front 7.  He is still the type of player that can break a long TD run whenever he wants.

CJ SPILLER – BUF – RB

ECR #6

MUNTRADAMUS #17

I’m surprised more experts are not afraid of Fred Jackson.  F-Jax was a Top 10 RB in 2010 and if it was not for injuries, who knows how much he would have been used.  He is 100% and the Panthers already have a strong Run D.

MATT FORTE – CHI – RB

ECR #7

MUNTRADAMUS #14

He can catch, he can run.  The Vikings do have a strong run defense, but Forte can still get his fantasy numbers.  Despite that, I do not see them being Top 10 Quality, unless it is a PPR League.

ALFRED MORRIS – WAS – RB

ECR #12

MUNTRADAMUS #20

If this game gets out of hand for Washington quickly, we could see Roy Helu for a lot of the game.  I would make it a point to tamper my expectations for Morris and hope this game remains close.

LAMAR MILLER – MIA – RB

ECR #25

MUNTRADAMUS #37

The Dolphins will be looking at Daniel Thomas more and more as the season progresses, and we could see ‘DT’ show up this week and take the job away.  That is what my Rankings predict as I have Daniel Thomas at #33.

WR BUST OF WEEK 2

JULIO JONES – ATL – WR

ECR #5

MUNTRADAMUS #16

Bad knee is bad enough, the fact he is playing the Rams is not very good.  On top of that with Roddy White at less than 100% you can expect the Rams to make sure Julio does not beat them.  Cortland Finnegan will do what he can to keep him in check, because they know he is the difference maker.  Julio was my original #2, but limited practice has me a little worried as far as BREAKOUT games go.

LARRY FITZGERALD – ARI – WR

ECR #6

MUNTRADAMUS #24

Hamstring injury sounds bad.  This could have been a dream matchup for Fitz, but now if you own him I would start the safer big name player.  Not Anquan Boldin, but definitely a Marques Colston type player.  Fitzgerald was my original #3 WR, the hamstring injury does scare me enough to think that 80 Yards is about the right projection.

ANTONIO BROWN – PIT – WR

ECR #22

MUNTRADAMUS #38

The Steelers offense is going to be a joke this season.  Especially when playing the Bengals on the road for Monday Night Football.  The Steelers will be lucky if Big Ben throws for over 200 Yards in this one, Antonio is due for a bad game here.

TORREY SMITH – BAL – WR

ECR #25

MUNTRADAMUS #50

Two words for you. Joe. Haden.  Look at what happened to Mike Wallace, Torrey is no Mike Wallace.

GREG JENNINGS – MIN – WR

ECR #40

MUNTRADAMUS #54

Two words for you. Christian. Ponder.  Horrible QB that makes every WR he has worthless.

TE BUST OF WEEK 2

TONY GONZALEZ – ATL – TE

ECR #3

MUNTRADAMUS #7

Love Tony G as a TE, but this season he looks slow.  The Falcons could lean on Tony more this week, but if he does not get that TD or 80 Yards, he is not a Top 3 TE this week with the other options on the board.

KYLE RUDOLPH – MIN – TE

ECR #14

MUNTRADAMUS #22

Against the Bears we could see Rudolph blocking more than going out for passes.  Kyle is a good TE, but Ponder is a QB  that does not throw the ball enough.  Especially well when he does.  If Rudolph was on the Patriots with Gronk, he would be Top 5.

K BUST OF WEEK 2

GREG ZUERLEIN – STL – K

ECR #6

MUNTRADAMUS #17

This is the type of game that could be very long drives with not a lot done.  Meaning that each team will only get around 5 possessions a half.  That is not good enough to get dependable numbers from Greg The Leg.

BLAIR WALSH – MIN – K

ECR #8

MUNTRADAMUS #27

Once the Vikings start trailing big time in this game, we can see the Vikings abandoning FGs and start needing those TDs desperately   I do not like Blair this week.

D/ST BUST OF WEEK 2

COLTS D – IND – D/ST

ECR #15

MUNTRADAMUS #24

Colts D is a little overrated in my eyes.  They do have nice safeties but their corners could have trouble this week.  This is the first time we will see how good their new pass defense is.

What’s up Beasts? I manage a ppr team of P. Manning, S. Smith, M. Williams, L. Moore, Shady, R. Bush, R. Matthews, F. Davis, K (Qb/combo), Def (rotate), Bench: D. Moore, M. Ball, J. Stewart, Helu, M. Bush, D. Brown. The league is set at 12 team ppr w/ qb, wr, wr, wr, rb, rb, te, flex-(wr/rb/te), k, def. I tried to make some trades on players listed, but unsuccessfully. Owners want too much like R. White for R. Bush. Any thoughts on how I can build on the strengths of this team will be appeciated.

UPDATE! I just checked on this league and an owner put A. Peterson on the trade block. So, what would you do, why, and how? Thanks BEAST! His team: Vick, Garcon, Bowe, Britt, A.P, Ridley, Gates, M. Floyd, E. Sanders, Vereen, S. Rice, Gronk, Harvin, K. Davis, I. Pead, Z. Stacy, k(empty), Def(empty).

He is going to want to upgrade at WR. I would offer up Bush and S. Smith for Peterson and go from there.

How worried should we be that CJ is going to lose carries to FJax, and what would that put CJs value at?

    • PageThis September 14, 2013   Reply →

F Jackson! He’s gonna crack a bone soon and spiller will have this all to himself. For now I think it’ll be a 50/50 split to start the season Then the new coaches will realize spiller is more explosiove and he takes 80/20 to 70/30 split.

You have Antonio Brown ranked #38 above but #14 on FantasyPros. What’s the disconnect?

    • Alaskan86 September 14, 2013   Reply →

You need to get VIP to see his rankings before he updates them on FantasyPros. VIPs have been able to see his rankings all week on Muntradamus.net There would be no point in paying for VIP if you could get Munts knowledge for free elsewhere.

VIP is a must to Beast your League!!

Just got a trade proposal to get rid of A. Morris and acquire CJ Spiller. I’m thinking yes. Any thoughts???

    • PageThis September 14, 2013   Reply →

Do it. If he has F. Jackson make him part of the trade with offering a lower end rb or wr in order to complete the pair (handcuff). Good Luck. Let us know what happens.

Cool thank you. Ill work on getting Fred on my roster too.

What’s up Nation?! I have a start/sit question that I’d love to get some feedback on. DeMarco Murray or Julius Thomas in the flex? Thanks BEASTS

    • Alaskan86 September 14, 2013   Reply →

Murray’s your man! Thomas may have a nice week but if you can start a stud workhorse Rb in the flex then your team is going to Beast!

    • PageThis September 14, 2013   Reply →

I agree with going with a rb for flex. I have Murraay in one of my leagues and he’s own that spot.

      • Knapp10991 September 15, 2013   Reply →

Thanks fellas appreciate the feedback! Kick some ass today boys!

With M.Stafford listed as a bust what are your thoughts on going with T.Pryor vs. Jags???

  • Brad September 14, 2013   Reply →

Larry’s hamstring issue scares me too. Ugh. Really sucks because he is such a great fit in Arians offense. That being said, I’d rather him sit and rest it then go out there and hurt it even worse. Hamstrings are nothing to mess with and can linger for quite a while if they’re not properly treated. Here’s to hoping Nate Burelson can put up respectable numbers if Fitz is a no go…

  • MostHated51 September 14, 2013   Reply →

Ok Beast Nation… With M.Stafford listed as a Bust and 24 ranking.. What are your thoughts on taking a flyer on T.Pryor???

    • Muntradamus September 15, 2013   Reply →

      Stafford is at 14.

Stafford is the safer player, Pryor is the higher upside at #12

  • PageThis September 14, 2013   Reply →

What’s up guys. I need your advise. Should I make a move to get A.Peterson or leave it and try for another player on his team like Gronk. The owners team is hurting and I need your help before this opportunity passes. LOOK AT THE TOP TWO NOTES. Thanks.

    • Cnop September 14, 2013   Reply →

Im pretty sure you offer everything short of your 1st born for AP
Maybe a Reggie Smith Matthews package ?

    • Alaskan86 September 14, 2013   Reply →

You will prob have to give up a ton to get AP. Id shoot him a low ball offer that includes Bush (ppr makes Bush very appealing!) and just ask him what he wants. Sometimes you actually dont have to give up as much as you would offer if you let them make the offer. Couldnt hurt. Def shoot for Gronk if he wants too much for AP. Gronks value is about to skyrocket!

Does anyone here know the deal with Munt’s weekly rankings? Are they posted here on the site? I haven’t found em and i’m sick of clicking on all these different articles that are posted throughout the week looking for them. I’m rather impatient and it doesn’t help that these pages take a couple extra seconds to load. I get aggravated quick as [email protected]!!

    • Alaskan86 September 14, 2013   Reply →

His weekly rankings are on Muntradamus.net You’ve got to be VIP to get the password. Id highly recommend joining if you can. The dude spends a ton of time helping all VIPs with any questions you can think up for you team including trades, waiver pick ups, weekly starts/sits or anything else you can think of to ask through Skype chat or video chat.

If you join the Beast Dome fandual league for 10 bucks he is giving you access to all the VIP stuff for this week and next week to try it before you buy into VIP for the season. At lease do that if nothing else…otherwise Id just ask the Beast Nation your questions on the main weekly article for some trickle down knowledge.

      • dallasdavek September 15, 2013   Reply →

Big…end the aggravation sign up for VIP with the fan duel option. You’ll have the weekly rankings right at your fingertips, access to both the waiver and trade BeastCasts where all questions about your team can be answered.

As mentioned by Alaskan86, try the $10 Fan Duel VIP option to give the VIP a test drive.

Am I crazy to be considering starting DMC over Lynch this week? They’re respective match ups makes it tempting.

I have Murray set for my other RB spot.

    • dallasdavek September 15, 2013   Reply →

Not to crazy…DMC could explode, I don’t have him because he was so hit or miss last year. I have Lynch playing him. He’s at home and Seattle will need him to control the game. My opponent had Ridley, who got him 4, so i can afford to play it safe. Compare your team with your opponents, if you can afford to play it safe go Lynch, if you need someone with more upside go with DMC.

Why the hell does munt have Cam Newton at #18???

    • dallasdavek September 15, 2013   Reply →

Must be old…new rankings have Cam top ten, projected to do well against Bills. If your gonna curse you should at least put your name to it. If your not registered it’s quick / free. Join the Dome.

Trade Ray Rice for CJ2K + McFadden? My other RB is Doug Martin and my current flex play is Antonio Brown…am I crazy to get rid of Rice for those two RBs?

  • boothorp September 15, 2013   Reply →

Harry Douglas, Joique Bell, Montee Ball or Kenny Britt for FLEX this week? I’m leaning toward Douglas but thinking Bell may get a touchdown. (14 person STD)
