BEAST DOME LEAGUE ANNOUNCEMENT COMING TOMORROW

MUNTRADAMUS BEAST PICKS OF WEEK 1

QB

CAM NEWTON – QB – CAR

EXPERT CONSENSUS #18

MUNTRADAMUS RANK #12

125 Yards. 1 TD.  Only a few sites out of 136 ranked Super Cam lower than me.  I will take it.

RB

DAVID WILSON – RB – NYG

EXPERT CONSENUS RANK #13

MUNTRADAMUS RANK #21

2 Fumbles early in the game.  Benched.  Everyone was hating on my David Wilson ranking this preseason saying I was undervaluing him as I Ranked him lower than just about every expert.  Looks like the prediction came true about not being able to shoulder the load even if it came to him.  Only two other sites had David Wilson lower.

DARYL RICHARDSON – RB – STL

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING # 23

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #39

6 Points is not enough from the #23 Ranked RB.  #39 seems a lot more accurate as D-Rich could not get it done against a good Arizona defense.

DEANGLO WILLIAMS – RB – CAR

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #28

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #36

Not a lot of sites had DeAnglo Williams lower than me.  A fumble with 76 Yards is not enough to justify a Top 30 Ranking.

WR

ANQUAN BOLDIN – WR – SF

MUNTRADAMUS RANK #12

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANK #28

No Website ranked Anquan Boldin closer to #1 than BEAST DOME.  Anquan was a favorite from the start of the preseason and he paid off dividends right away.

WES WELKER – WR – DEN

MUNTRADAMUS RANK #10

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANK #26

No website ranked Wes Welker higher this Preseason.  Did not take long for everyone to look like they had no idea what they were talking about with Wes not playing well for Denver.

TE

JULIUS THOMAS – TE – DEN

MUNTRADAMUS RANK #10

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANK #19

If you are new to BEAST DOME.  Well you missed out on a player I ranked #10 in my Preseason Rankings at the TE position.  Julius Thomas will likely be added in all leagues this weekend, if you know this site, you likely started him while Gronk was injured.

K

KAI FORBATH – K – WAS

MUNTRADAMUS RANK #19

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANK #12

Kai did not make a FG on Monday Night.  He only had 3 Extra Points.  Welcome to that RG3 Life.

D/ST

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

MUNTRADAMUS RANK #13

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANK #19

Chiefs murdered the Jags. 6 Sacks. 2 Ints. 1 TD.  Horrible day to be a Jaguars fan.

DE

GREG HARDY – DL – CAR

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #28

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #5

1 Tackle. 2 Assists. 1 Pass Defended.

I warned you.

LB

SEAN LEE – LB – DAL

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #19

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #4

4 Tackles. 1 Assist. 1 Pass Defended.

I warned you.

DB

ERIC REID – S – SF

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #5

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #33

7 Tackles. 1 Pass Defended. 1 INT.

Nobody gave this guy starters consideration. I ranked him Top 5.  Eric Reid should be added in most IDP leagues, this guy can flat out play.

  1. I have to say amazing work Muntradamus on your analyst skills. I got rocked with the Wilson pick up in round 2, when my beast senses told me to pass and take Forte :/ Now I did win week 1 with my number 1 and 2 RBs laying an egg. But I need to recover from this blow to my RB2. QB: Andrew Luck, Palmer/ RB CJ Spiller, David Wilson, Reggie Bush, Ben Tate, Roy Helu, Joique Bell/ IR Andre Brown/ WR Jordy Nelson, D Jackson, Josh Gordon, Justin Blackmon/ TE Gronk Burger, Jordan Cameron/ DST Falcons. Knowing is half the Battle…

Roll with Joique Bell as my flex?
Should I drop Helu for Julian Edelman and slot him as my flex?
Should I drop Helu for Mcghee?
Lastly roll the dice as Wilson as my flex and hold off since I am waiver wire position 2 for something better.

  2. Guys, do you all realize you can cherry pick anyone’s rankings like this? How about his overall RB rankings? Not great take a look. And don’t get started on montee ball, draft day disaster…

  3. No MVP for D. Jackson :< he was in the top 12 in WR points you ranked him higher then anyone on Fantasy Pros at rank 11. Next closest ranking is 15.

  4. Thanks for the great advice so far. Danny Amendola is not expected to play Thursday. Would you replace any of my receivers with Julian Edelman? It looks like he will be the number one receiver for Tom Brady this week and that’s always a good thing.

    DeSean Jackson
    Miles Austin
    Kenny Britt
    Chris Givens
    Vincent Brown

  5. Also if CB Asante Samuel doesn’t play next week for the Falcons, Chris Givens upside goes up. Just watch the injury reports on that story. After week 1 Houston is ranked 9th against the pass and they went up against Philip Rivers. So I wouldn’t expect a big game out of Kenny Britt with Locker throwing it up vs Houston at home.

  6. can’t argue dropping britt for edelman, but I think i would consider dropping givens as well, but either way i like the move

  7. I would have to actually drop Britt. My other options would be dropping my backup QB Josh Freeman or dropping Christine Michael, who is sitting on my bench as Marshawn Lynch’s handcuff in case Lynch gets injured.

  8. should i drop Josh Freeman and grab Terrelle Pryor as my backup QB? i have Eli Manning as my starter.

  9. I have Romo with Freeman as the backup, the plan is to drop Freeman for someone off the Wire RB or TE. Freeman is having a rough start which he might turn around. No concern about somebody picking him up. I’m in a 10 man League so I’ll probable go without a backup QB for awhile.

  10. I think i like pryor’s upside over freeman, ecspecially with him getting stripped of his captain spot, something just doesn’t seem right to me with that whole situation, but i would wait on munt before i make a final decision

  11. thanks for the responses. i guess i’ll hold off on Pryor.

i got waiver 1 priority this week and will most likely pick up Julian Edelman (especially since Amendola is supposed to be out this Thursday and maybe for a few weeks according to various reports).

i’m pretty thin at RB…only have Stephen Jackson, Matt Forte, and Demarco Murray. searching waiver wire in my league, but nothing appealing except Michael Bush.

  12. Should I trade Boldin away for Roddy White? I got offered this by a WR desperate team. My other WR’s are B. Marshall and J. Nelson, Lance Moore and Brian Hartline.

Thanks to you guys, I was able to win week 1 by 60 points. Cheers!

  13. Save your pick on Edelman and wait after the pick ups and get undraft free agent marlon brown. He is going to have bigger impact than him, his Calvin size and will be number 2 wr since jacoby jones went down. A miss match in the redzone cause of his height.

  14. Q1: Who do I drop for Edelman? I have Bowe, M. Austin, V. Brown, Givens.
    Q2: I have Powell….should I drop for D. Thomas or P. Thomas?
    Thanks!

  15. Here is another tip, wait after the waiver wires and pick up undrafted free agent Marlon Brown. He will be the number 2 option for the Ravens since Jacoby Jones went down. His is Calvin size and will be a miss match in the redzone because of his height.

  16. You definitely need McGahee. I would drop Bell instead of Helu–more upside with Helu. Edelman might be safer right now, but if McGahee takes over in NY your team is right back on track.

  17. Christine Michael got some of his insane preseason yards w/ starting oline against 3rd string defense. Turbin is pretty well set as the backup in SEA. Either way, you could probably drop Michael for Edelman, wait for Amendola to come back and Michael and Turbin will still be waiting on the wire…

  18. i think it depends on who your receivers are, regarding marlon brown, while he is calvin’s size, that doesnt equate to calvin potential, and joe flacco is just not a good QB.

  19. But Richardson was the 18th best RB (you are forgetting his receiving yards) and Williams was the 23rd best RB in standard scoring. The consensus was closer than you were on both of those, why do you use them as examples of being right when they are actually examples of you being wrong?

  20. I would say drop givens for Edelman, on the second question it’s a toss up to me, hopefully munt has something to say about it

  21. I agree here, but I think it depends on the situation. In one league I have great backs (Charles, Jones-Drew, Bush) but my #1 Receiver is Steve Smith. I’m using a waiver pick on Edelman (if possible) To make a possible impact this week. I think Edelman is in for a good game vs the jets (provided he doesn’t have to line up as the number one option). He’s not good enough to torch Cromartie. He should have decent longterm appeal, though, given Amendola is made of sugar cookies. Marlon Brown will see his share of looks just because of the depleted receiving corps, and you can pick him up FA.

  22. I might see if I could package Lance Moore in as well and get a slightly better option that Roddy White. I love Roddy and he’s one of the most durable guys in the league, but the tides are changing in Atlanta and the ball will get spread around more now that Jackson is in the backfield. White can still put up great weeks but there will be some duds too. If the trade was offered to you, think big and counter. The worst that can happen is he rejects it and you can still get White. I do think Boldin is in a GREAT situation in SF. The only worry is the corners he will face all season. Sherman, Peterson & Finnegan are nightmares.

  23. I have RG3 and paired him with Forbath, following the QB/K strategy, figuring it works out better than the rankings most of the time.

Any advice on whether or when I should follow rankings instead of QB/K? Was this just a fluke?

I played the P Manning owner and lost by 3 points – have Murray, McCoy, Hicks, DeSean Jackson, Gronk, J Stew, J Gordon so followed the draft strategy pretty well. I have Britt, Helu, and Ashlon Jeffrey I might dump for a wire pickup – anyone I should target?

  24. I agree with you and to you bukeye, Flacco is only as good as his receivers and his O line. We all damn well know that the man can throw.
