THE REPLACEMENTS Vol. II

By Muntradamus

Tuesday’s articles of the replacements was such a hit, that we had to make volume II so you can win your championship.  Here are a look at some waiver wire options that can give you a huge kick to win your championship.  These are also great players to own in Daily Fantasy Salary Cap Leagues.  It is easy money if you followed the article from last night.

THE REPLACEMENTS VOL. I

Wednesday

#1. Evan Tuner. SG/SF. 76ers

Remember when Turner was a must-own fantasy option after he had an explosive week that made Dwayne Wade owners jealous.  Well now he gets his chance to shine one last time as the 76ers have clinched their playoff spot, and they decided to rest; Elton Brand, Thaddeus Young, Andre Iguodala, and possibly Louis Williams.  Turner is coming off an impressive 6/8 shooting in 19 minutes, to go along with 5 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 1 Steal/Block.  Expect all those numbers to jump up quickly, as he will be the man to own Wednesday.

#2. Shannon Brown. SG. Suns

With the Suns not fighting for a playoff spot, look for Shannon Brown to be an absolute ball hog on Wednesday.  The reason he signed the contract to play for the Suns instead of the Lakers was to get a chance to showcase his skills.  There will be no better chance to do that with the Suns playing for nothing.  Look for him to take 20+ FG attempts, even if his eyes are closed.

#3. Ekpe Udoh. PF/C. Bucks

When the Bucks acquired Monta Ellis, they also got one of the most explosive block shot specialists in the league in Udoh.  At times he has been able to get the minutes to show what he’s got with the Bucks.  But most of the time he has been riding the bench and seeing less than 20 minutes a game.  With Drew Gooden tired and coming off of a 1/7 shooting performance in 12 Minutes.  It is likely Udoh will see a bigger role than he did last game with 11 Points, 5 Rebounds, 3 Blocks in 29 Minutes.  I would start him with confidence as the Bucks are very curious in what role he has in their future.

#4. Jared Dudley. SG/SF. Suns

Dudley came into the regular season as the Suns best player according to coach Gentry.  This season has been an up & down one for Dudley as at times he looked great scoring 20+ consistently.  Other times he was being outplayed by Michael Redd, Shannon Brown, and Grant Hill.  With the Suns season over, they should give Dudley close to 40 Minutes as he is Mr. Everything to them.  He has been scoring well as of late averaging 16.2 Points over the last 5 games.

#5. Sebastian Telfair. PG. Suns

Phoenix has officially been eliminated in the playoffs.  That means it is time for Sebastian to get his chance as a starter so Steve Nash can rest his aching old body.  Telfair has the potential for a 10 Assist game, and I would not put it past him at all.  If anyone has a lot to prove to close out the year, it is this guy.  Check to make sure Steve Nash is out for Wednesday, it is likely on a back-to-back with nothing to play for.

#6. Taj Gibson. PF/C. Bulls

The Bulls have clinched the #1 seed, and now it is time to get their star bench players some extra minutes.  If Taj plays the 30+ like I expect, then you can see a monstrous double-double.   His potential as a starter is no joke as he averages 7.6 Points, 5.2 Rebounds, and 1.3 Blocks in 20 Minutes off the bench.  Check to see if the Bulls announce they are resting starters, which they should.

#7. Tyler Hansbrough. PF. Pacers

The Pacers are now the #3 seed, and now David West can join Danny Granger, Roy Hibbert, and George Hill to rest up for the playoffs.  The time has finally come for Hansbrough who many spent a mid-round draft picked based off of his impressive pre-season.  Now he should play 30 Minutes easily, last game in 28+ Minute he had 13 Points and 8 Rebounds.  Expect better numbers than that.

#8. Boris Diaw. SF/C/PF. Spurs

Remember when Boris Diaw had great trade value?  Well he is a player that can have a huge fantasy night now that the Spurs have clinched the #1 seed and homecourt advantage.  If the Spurs have one weakness, it is their center position.  However in Diaw’s last start he had 6 Points, 7 Rebounds, and 6 Assists in 24 Minutes.  Nothing would make Spurs fans more confident if they could see Diaw close out the season strong and give that team a legitimate big man heading into the playoffs.  Expect him to get his experiment time.

#9. Leandro Barbosa. PG/SG. Pacers

Barbosa has had great potential to put up big games all along, but now that he should definitely see 30+ Minutes, you can expect a player who can score close to 20 points.  If Paul George sits, which he should, then Barbosa should have a season highlight game.  20 Points with steals is easily expected.

  1. Scream.

    I would do the following.

    Add: Sloan
    Add: Henderson
    Add: Nelson

    Drop: Perkins
    Drop: Redick
    Drop: Diaw

Good Luck and win that Championship!

  2. Thanks! Ugg, I just got back from Kayaking and everything is locked… Hopefully my previous players will own it. Redick is looking great at the moment. Perkins could do better, and Diaw, we will see.
