FANTASY BASKETBALL:

BEAST DOME PREVIEW (2013)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

Many of you here on this site mostly play Fantasy Baseball and Fantasy Football.  Because of this, I am adjusting Fantasy Basketball this season.  Yes, there will be plenty of Strategy Articles such as Waiver Wire/Trade Market/Haiku to win you your leagues.

This season, we are going to make it very Daily Fantasy and Betting on games Heavy with deep analysis.  I plan on taking over Vegas this year with the action I will be putting on the line.  After going 51-4 last season on picking games, all documented on site.  There is no reason not to turn the focus on that this year.

There will be special BEAST VIP Packages for Basketball.  All coming Soon..

2012 FANTASY BASKETBALL RECAP

Starting today October 4th all the way through the first regular season game.  There will be nothing but Fantasy Basketball everyday to get you stimulated for the season.  So before we get into the Rankings.  Let us go over the

NEW BEASTS. IN NEW PLACES

*Saturday There will be a Haiku with all the NBA Teams To See All Roles*

PAUL MILLSAP – ATL

Paul Millsap was a Bust last season.  If you click on the 2012 Fantasy Basketball Recap, you will see I projected that.

This season he goes to the Atlanta Hawks to replace Josh Smith.  With no Al Jefferson/Derrick Favors/Enes Kanter.  Millsap will finally be the man at PF.  Al Horford is the perfect Big Man to play with.  He is not nearly as talented as a post player as Al Jefferson and much more unselfish.  Look for Millsap to get back to the 20/10 Range.

VERDICT: BEAST (20/10) + STEALS

PAUL PIERCE/KEVIN GARNETT – BRK

Pierce and KG going to the Nets is going to hurt their Fantasy Value.  While they may be more sufficient players as far as FG% and useful minutes.  They lose value going to the Nets to play alongside Brook Lopez and Deron Williams.  Not to much a much more comfortable Joe Johnson.

Pierce was the #1/#2 option for the Celtics, here there could be games where he has 10 Points/7 Assists/4 Rebounds.  While the Assists are pretty, just make sure you do not reach too high on him.  He will be like Andre Iguodala on those nights where he forgets to score more often than not.

Kevin Garnett was the a priority in the Celtics offense.  Here he is a role player to get everyone else open, and most importantly win the Nets the Championship.  Brook Lopez is their BEAST down low.  Do not forget that.

VERDICT PIERCE: NOT BEAST (Poor Man Iguodala)

VERDICT KG: NOT BEAST (Low-End Double/Double Player at Best)

AL JEFFERSON – CHA

Big Al goes to the Bobcats.  A team that a true consistent, ‘I can a Bucket when you need me to coach.’ Type of player.  Which is perfect for Al Jefferson, because he could shoot the ball 30 Times a Game if he was on the team that allowed him to do that.  Al Jefferson is going to do that every night for Charlotte.

VERDICT: BEAST (25/12) + Blocks

ANDREW BYNUM – CLE

Once the greatest Lakers Center since Shaquille O’Neal.  Bynum finds himself on the Cavs to re-build his career.  Once again, health is already a factor as nobody is sure how healthy this guy is.  With the return of Anderson Varejao, Bynum could be looking at 25 Minutes a game MAX if he is healthy.  The Cavs are trying to win a Championship this year, “You can laugh.’  So the Cavs will limit their big man to save him for the postseason.

VERDICT: NOT BEAST (Low-End Double/Double Player that misses a lot of games).

MONTA ELLIS – DAL

Monta is now with Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs.  Monta has lacked playing with a Big Man Superstar his entire career.  Now he gets a Legend in Dirk Nowitzki to run pick & rolls with all day long.  Besides those two, nobody on that squad can really put up big scoring numbers.  Expect Monta to go BEAST MODE this season.

VERDICT: BEAST (26 Point/6 Assist) + STEALS/3PTM

BRANDON JENNINGS/JOSH SMITH – DET

This is the biggest duo of Free Agents to enter a Team.  Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith are both current All-Star Caliber players.  They are now both playing with a Young and Rising Team, it is going to be fun to watch.  Both will be Stars.

Brandon Jennings will run this show quickly in transition and be a great scoring guard that can take over games when defenses collapse on their big men.

Josh Smith will be a mediator, and a Guy who can flat out run in transition.  He will also create a lot of matchup problems when he is at SF.  Lot’s of 1 on 1’s could turn him into the poor Mans Lebron.  As long as he does not settle with jump shots.

VERDICT BRANDON JENNINGS: BEAST (22 Point/7 Assists) + STEALS/3PTM

VERDICT JOSH SMITH: BEAST (18 Point/8 Rebound/6 Assists) + Blocks/Steals

ANDRE IGUODALA – GSW

Iggy goes to the Warriors.  A team that lacked one thing all season, a SF that can give them consistency.  With Andrew Bogut now healthy, Iguodala gives the Warriors their best chance to win a Championship since the beginning of Time.  Look for Iggy to be a mediator more than a big-time scorer on this squad.  David Lee can put up Points, Andrew Bogut is known to have an offensive game, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson don’t need an introduction.  Iggy will still be a Fantasy Stud giving you numbers in departments you cannot even imagine.

VERDICT ANDRE IGUODALA: STUD (13 Points/6 Assists/6 Rebounds) + Blocks/Steals

DWIGHT HOWARD – HOU

Dwight is going to be a Man on a mission this season.  After embarrassing himself and his career once again, Dwight is going to Houston to make everyone Shut the F*ck up about how he was horrible on the Lakers last season.  Keep in mind he was never 100% healthy, and he also crumbled under the media attention.  So now he goes to Houston where he plays with James ‘I could care less about the Championship’ Harden.  The Rockets are going to be more of a Fantasy Squad than a reality squad.  This team is beatable, and it all starts with the emotions of Dwight.  Let’s see where his attitude takes him this year.

VERDICT: BEAST (25 Point/15 Rebounds) + Blocks/Steals + (52% FT)

CHRIS KAMAN – LAL

Just kidding.

KEVIN MARTIN – MIN

K-Mart Jr. used to be a player that can score 20+ a game at a rate that would make you think he was Kobe Bryant.  He would get to the Free Throw Line, he would drain 3’s, he would get steals.  But then he ended up in Kevin McHale’s doghouse somehow in Houston.  Then he traveled to OKC to take the place of James Harden.  Now he goes to Minnesota, a team that was relying on Alex Shved as their primary scorer at the position.  Look for K-Mart Jr. to get his numbers back to what they once were.

VERDICT: BEAST (22 Points) + 3PTM/Steals

O.J. MAYO – MIL

This is the first time O.J. Mayo will be the real true #1 option of his team.  He was one of the top guys for the Grizziles as a Rookie, but then the talent around him grew quickly, while he faded.  After that he went to the Mavericks to be their #1 Guard scorer, only to see Vince Carter rise from the dust to eat up a lot his shot attempts.  Now Mayo goes to a Bucks team that is without Monta/Jennings.  This will be his chance to score 20+ a game consistently.

VERDICT: BEAST (21 Points) 3PTM

JRUE HOLIDAY/TYREKE EVANS – NO

The Pelicans are a team that is desperate for a new look.  So much so, they have the worst mascot and brought in two young superstars.  With Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon already manning this squad, look for this team to actually be competitive.  On a Fantasy layout though, this team is a little too PG/SG heavy.  Jrue/Eric Gordon/Tyreke can all bring the ball up.  They all want to shoot as well.  Not the best fantasy situation, someone has to be unselfish, and none of them are.

VERDICT JRUE: STUD (14 Points/7 Assists) + Steals

VERDICT TYREKE: NOT BEAST (11 Points/5 Assists/5 Rebounds) + Steals

ANDREA BARGNANI – NYK

Being a #1 overall pick and still having a capable jumpshot.  We will leave him as a Superstar label.  He has never had that Superstar Full-Season, just stretches of greatness.  Going to the Knicks to play with Camerlo Anthony and a beatup Amar’e Stoudemire.  You can expect him to not be shooting as much as he needs to.  He does open up the court, but he does also create a log jam at the big man position, especially with the need for Tyson Chandler to be on the court for defense.  This is not a Dream Situation.

VERDICT: NOT BEAST (13 Points/6 Rebounds) + 3PTM
