BEAST DOME NATION.

I know we all expected more article this week, as you can tell there is a lot going on with Baseball season concluding, including the quarter mark of the Fantasy Football season.  No need to fear, there will be an article tomorrow for Center Sleepers.  Draft Guide Vol. I with rankings will come out Monday.  Fantasy Baseball is less than a month away BEAST DOME NATION.

Fantasy Basketball (2012-2013): Guard Sleepers
Fantasy Basketball (2012-2013): Center Sleepers

RUDY GAY – F – MEM

Muntradamus F Rank: #6

Expert Consensus F Rank: #12

The Grizzles got rid of Mr. OJ Mayo.  That means Gay has a lot more freedom as possibly their only legitimate consistent scoring wing player.  Look for Gay to have an explosive season now that he a full year removed from that shoulder injury that cut his 2010-2011 campaign short.  He offers you 3PTM/STL/REB and just great numbers all-around to help your fantasy team.

LUOL DENG – F – CHI

Muntradamus F Rank: #15

Expert Consensus F Rank: #21

I was not a fan of Luol Deng going into last season simply because the Bulls were too deep and he was being drafted too early.  He did not look all that impressive last year, but he did when Derrick Rose was out.  Now that Derrick Rose is out for the first few months of the season, likely past the All-Star Break.  Luol Deng will have to be the bread and butter of the Bulls offense.  Looking for explosive games consistently where he could not only score 30+ Points, but also knock down a handful of 3PTM and grab those steals.

NICOLAS BATUM – F – POR

Muntradamus F Rank: #16

Expert Consensus F Rank: #32

Batum was the sensation of last season.  He was everything you could dream of if you owned a fantasy forward.  He made his 3’s, he got his steals and blocks, but most importantly he consistently lit it up once they made him a full-time starter.  The Blazers fell apart at the end of last season with everyone making up injuries and not being healthy besides Wes Matthews.  Now that Batum is healthy, motivated, and in an offense where there is no more Gerald Wallace to back him up.  Batum is MUST-DRAFT for how late his ADP is.

TRISTAN THOMPSON – F – CLE

Muntradamus F Rank: #23

Expert Consensus F Rank: #47

This ranking is possibly too high.  With Antawn Jamison now with the Lakers (Championship) Thompson is forced to play 36+ Minutes a game consistently.  The man is a pogo stick and can quickly emerge as a nice 12+ Point per game scoring threat.  The real reason to grab him is his rebounding numbers and block shots.  The man can jump out of the gym, now playing with a healthy Anderson Varejao expect Thompson to have easy 12+ Rebounds a game with less boxing out to do.

GLEN DAVIS – F – ORL

Muntradamus F Rank: #26

Expert Consensus F Rank: #41

Somehow, someway, Big Baby turned into a star for the Magic.  20+ Points a game with his eyes closed. 10+ Rebounds in the 1st half.  Something was just too good to be true.  With Dwight Howard now no longer with the Magic, it is not a bad idea to find out if there was any truth to this hot streak out of nowhere.  The Magic look to be one of the worst teams in the NBA, especially when I tell you that Glen Davis is one of their projected leading scorers.

MICHAEL BEASLEY – F – PHO

Muntradamus F Rank: #27

Expert Consensus F Rank: #38

It’s a Love/Hate relationship with Michael Beasley and Fantasy Basketball.  Last season it was a lot of hate, the season before that was a lot of love.  We saw the potential of his consistent 20+ Points and scoring the ball as if he were Grant Hill in his prime.  Now with the Phoenix Suns, a team that is definitely in save money mode.  Beasley is a star on a squad that really only has Goran Dragic and Marcin Gortat (Is this a Harry Potter Basketball Team) as their leading scorers.  Although you have to deal with Beasley and his Blazing Saddles ways which does tend to interfere with his game more than it should, he is still a solid bet to return to form where he will kill your FG% and give you a lot of points.  Draft him with confidence at thin Forward position.
