Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire: So Call Me Maybin? (Week 22)

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire: So Call Me Maybin? (Week 22)

BEAST DOME NATION.

BEAST DOME is up and running and ready to bring you the best fantasy content to win you your championships.  In this article I highlight players that can help you now!  These are guys that can provide a spark in your lineup to possibly help you earn that playoff berth, or move you onto the next round.

ANDREW BAILEY – BOS – RP

Bailey is now the closer for the Boston Red Sox.  Granted the Red Sox just gave up a big portion of their offense with Adrian Gonzalez away, the Red Sox are still going to be scoring runs with the best of them.  Bailey was a top 10 closer to start the season before his thumb injury, and now he holds that same value for the last month of the season.  Get him active in your lineups, must start status.

CAMERON MAYBIN – SD – OF

Maybin has been slumpping all season long after showing us last year that he has 15 HR and 40 SB potential.  The Padres out of nowhere are playing inspired ball which has led to Maybin starting to steal some bases again.  He stoles bases in three games in a row which is showing that he wants to make another strong push to 40.  If you need speed, and all the guys on the waiver wire do not excite you.  Cameron Maybin is your man.

BRETT ANDERSON – OAK – SP

Not only does he pitch twice this upcoming week, but he pitches against the Indians to start the week a team that cannot hit lefties.  Roll with him and hope he can shut down a weak Red Sox lineup as well to close the week.  Anderson has great value for the rest of the season as he has always had more than solid fantasy potential.  Injuries have brought him to this moment.

SCOTT DIAMOND – MIN – SP

Diamond has a friendly matchup against the Mariners at home on Tuesday.  He is more of a deeper league option, and could possibly be suspended for the game.  But if you need a quick stream, you can do a lot worse than Diamond against a Mariners team that is more than beatable.

JOHN MAYBERRY JR – PHI – OF/1B

Mayberry has been waiting for this non-pressure of losing PT situation all season long.  Now that he can be himself and work into a future OF star for a rebuilding team, you can see his comfort level.  Mayberry has great power and can walk into 6 HRs in the month of September easily.

PEDRO CIRIACO – BOS – 2B/SS/3B

Not only does his name remind you of a vodka brand, he brings great versatility to the fantasy game qualifying at all positions.  He has a bit of a speed, and minimal power.  But he can do enough to remind you of a poor mans Mike Aviles.  With the Red Sox throwing the towel, Ciriaco will play every night.

  1. Good call with Ciriaco. He’s been tearing up lately as has Scutaro, another versile player for medium sized leagues.
