FANTASY BASEBALL TESTIMONIALS 2012

– REV

“I just want to say thanks Muntradamus, you will never know how much you’ve helped me all season long. When I first came to this site, it was just to gather some help and move on. I never knew I would stay around all season. Every week, there was new info for me to use in all 5 of the leagues I played in. Then there were those timeless one on one times when you suggested a player that turned out to be a beast all season long. And even when you didn’t answer my question, your suggestions to others helped me. You know your stuff man, lol. I also want to thank all the members, Beast Dome Nation, namely Blue, who also helped me a lot. And now that my baseball season is or has come to a end, it’s on to Football, and you’ve haven’t missed a beat there either. So, thanks again. I ended the season with 2 Championship teams and 3 – 2nd place teams. In one league I was in first place since week 5 and stayed there all season long. That’s how much you info helped me. Not to many people can go through a season like that, IMO. So, thanks dude, you are the man. May you continue to be successful and I’ll definitely be here soaking up all your wisdom. God Bless you, and thanks again.”

PLAYERS ALREADY MENTIONED THAT SHOULD BE OWNED

JOHN BUCK (WEEK 3) 90% Owned on CBS.

FRANCISCO CERVELLI – NYY (27 % Owned)

Stats as of 4/22: .309/2 HR/7 RBI

No he is not Jorge Posada, but he is the Yankees starting catcher who is hitting with solid pop.  When the Yankees lineup gets to full strength, Cervelli will be even more attractive with the RBI options.  I would make it a point to grab Francisco now if you are desperatley needing a catcher.  15 HR/65 RBI is a reality at this point for his 2013 campaign.

PLAYERS ALREADY MENTIONED THAT SHOULD BE OWNED

TRAVIS HAFNER (WEEK 2)44% Owned on CBS.
LANCE BERKMAN (WEEK 2) 82% Owned on CBS.
CARLOS PENA (WEEK 3)
 15% Owned on CBS.

GARRETT JONES – 1B/OF – PIT (33% Owned)

Stats as of 4/22: .300/1 HR/9 RBI

Every season Garrett Jones is one of the most underrated power hitting 1B/OF options in Fantasy Baseball.  This season you did not have to draft 1B early because this guy was around so late.  He bats cleanup, he has protection in the order, he can hit 30 HRs, and he is in a contract year.  Go ahead and make a play for Garrett.

2B

PLAYERS ALREADY MENTIONED THAT SHOULD BE OWNED

DANIEL MURPHY (WEEK 3) 96% Owned on CBS.

3B

ANTHONY RENDON – WAS (36% Owned)

Stats as of 4/22: 1 game.

If you are looking for a short-term replacement for Ryan Zimmerman, or maybe a little spark at the 3B position.  Anthony Rendon and all of his potential may be the guy for you.  Rendon is not guarnteed production by any means, but he is a warm body on a good Nationals lineup that could pick up some nice RBI numbers.  Zimmerman is expected to be back in two weeks, which makes Rendon a very quick plug-n-play.

SS

DIDI GREGORIOUS – ARI (24% Owned)

Stats as of 4/22: .545/2 HR/2 RBI/0 SB

Didi made noise hitting a Home Run in his first MLB game.  Yes it was against Phil Hughes, but still a HR is a HR, especially for a SS.  Didi has some nice 5 tool fantasy potential, but it would be much better to see him perform like this for another week before dropping a good player for him.  Didi has good potential and a 10 HR/10 SB season is possible.

OF

DREW STUBBS – CLE (20% Owned)

Stats as of 4/22: .259/1 HR/5 RBI/2 SB

It does not matter if you bat 1st or 9th in the American League.  Especially if you are Drew Stubbs who is a player that could easily swipe 30 SBs and hit 20 HRs.  While everyone may be discouraged by his poor 2012, the old Drew Stubbs from 2010/2011 looks very relevant this season.  Jump on the bandwagon before it’s too late.

JUSTIN RUGGIANO – MIA (33% Owned)

Stats as of 4/22: .239/3 HR/9 RBI/3 SB

Ruggiano is the most underrated player in Fantasy Baseball.  Batting in the heart of the Marlins batting order is not very sexy.  Nor the fact that he has a very short track record.  But let’s be real here, how many 20 HR/20 SB threats in Fantasy Baseball are owned in less than 40% of leagues?  Ruggiano is a nice steal now before he starts to get noticed.  It’s amazing he is not owned by more than 70% of all leagues.

RICK ANKIEL – HOU (3 % Owned)

Stats as of 4/22: .229/4 HR/10 RBI/

There are much better Free Agent options than Rick Ankiel in all fantasy leagues.  But his name was perfect for my title, and if you are looking for a cheap source of power, Rick Ankiel is your man.  He could hit 25 HRs this season, but that would be the very max.  His batting average is nothing to brag about.

He was a big reason for my success this week.

PLAYERS ALREADY MENTIONED THAT SHOULD BE OWNED

COLBY RASMUS (WEEK 2)44% Owned on CBS.
ALFONSO SORIANO (WEEK 3) 15% Owned on CBS.

TONY CINGRANI (WEEK 3) @ MIA – 5 INN/8 K/1 ER

WEEK 4

JORGE DE LA ROSA – COL (43% Owned)

Stats as of 4/22:  2.82 ERA/2-1/17 K

De La Rosa is a nice pitching option against the Diamondbacks this week.  He does have long-term ownership potential, but it’s hard to trust any pitcher pitching in Colorado on a consistent basis.  Unless your are Ubaldo Jimenez who is pitching like the Colorado air traveled with him to every game.  De La Rosa does appear to lose some of that high-end Strikeout potential that made him so dangerous int he past, thanks to Tommy John Surgery.
