DO I DRAFT

TOM MURPHY

BEAST DOME NATION.

For a lot of people, their Fantasy Baseball season was done before September hit.

When September did hit for the Rockies, they called up their prized possesion power hitting catcher Tom Murphy.

Murphy slugged 19 HRs with a .327 batting average in AAA.

When Murphy was called up to the show, he hit 5 Home Runs in September and if it was not for a 2/14 finish at the plate, he would of hit well above .300 as he finished at .256.

Now we get a full season of Tom Murphy. The 200+ LB over 6 feet tall power hitting catcher.

The Rockies have not had power at the catcher position since Wilin Rosario “No Expert Ranked Higher” his breakout season, and they appear ready to have another potential BEAST.

FantasyPros Experts are not giving Murphy much love as he sits at #16 according to ECR.

While that Ranking is not horrible as he currently hovers around the Top 10 for me, he is a player that you can draft as a Backup with lots of potential. If you play in 2 catcher leagues, you do not have to look much further for a Star #2 that can be drafted later, or just simply superstar depth.

My Strategy for Catcher does not center around Murphy at all, but he is a good diamond in the rough.
