DAILY DRAFTSTREET TEAM (June 21st):

*Thursday is off day with the lack of games being played.

BET OF THE DAY (June 21st):

UNDER 7.5 in the Rays VS. Nationals game

On one side you have one of the hottest pitchers in the AL with Matt Moore.  The Nationals offense struggled to score any runs off of the rookie Archer in his first start on Wednesday.  Moore should have his way this pretty cold lineup that has no timing with their hits.  On the other side you have a Rays offense that cannot hit lefties all season long.  Throw in Gio Gonzalez, and we could possibly see a CG shutout.  Both pitchers should pitch great, but one of them should pitch a shutout.  That would leave this game well under 7.5 runs.

  1. Nice picks beating BrettFavre and Milone yesterday as an elite start. Can Milone get it done on the road!?!?

  2. Thanks GW.

If he faces a weak offense, I would roll the dice on “The Mil-one.”

The Dodgers right now are not a consistent offense with Matt Kemp hurt. I had Blackley ranked #6 just outside of my good starts. He threw a great game today, and Brandon McCarthy had a shutout Tuesday.

    When Kemp returns, everything changes.

  3. Yea Kemp is huge. I want to ask about a 2 catcher single-season weekly 4×4 roto league where I missed the draft but I’m in first place after some sweet FA pickups! I’m relying on 2 start starters. I picked up Dillon Gee for period 14 for Aaron Harang who had 2 starts and I got Alex Avila from FA.

    1. Which second catcher that needs to play weekly would you keep for the remainder of the year? Barajas or Mesoraco.

    2. Any low owned Catchers to scout ? Nobody from your Hitter Power article above Barajas/Mesoraco is available. Shoppach, Maldonado (need long term), Ramon Hernandez*, Treanor, Ross, Laird, Jose Molina, Y Gomes, J Solano, John Baker, John Jaso, Chris Stewart, or any others.

    3. I ended up with Strasburg. What would you do with him ? I clearly need a catcher. Any slumping but high upside C + SP or C+3B?

    Thanks a lot =)

C- Avila, Barajas. 1B – Freeman 2B – Pedroia 3B – Headley. SS- Reyes. Mid Inf- Jeter. Corn Inf – Morneau
OF – Carlos Lee, D Jennings, Victorino, McCutchen, Rasmus. Utility – Dee Gordon
9 SP/RP – Strasburg, Sabathia, Gallardo, Edwin Jackson, D Gee, Westbrook… Nathan, Soriano, Clippard
Bench – Kemp, Utley, Stubbs, Mesoraco, Josh Beckett, Chad Billingsley

  4. Nice job making it into 1st place.

Your team is similar to the Dodgers. Somehow in 1st place, somehow in 1st place even with Kemp missing a boat load of games.

I like Rod B to approach 15 HRs, but I also like him to lose his job by the middle of the second half.

Devin would be a solid start in all leagues if he played everyday. Dusty Baker hates his rookies, and there is a chance he does not play full-time all second half of the season.

So here is what I would do. Get rid of Barajas and grab Devin if you want a long-term hopeful option, or grab Maldonado for his short-term success. This could be his best streak of the season, still worth riding.

Then I would definitely trade Stras. http://www.beastdome.com/fantasy-baseball-stephen-strasburg-strategy-2012

Try to target the struggling Carlos Santana, along with his second or third best pitcher. Try to make it someone in the top 25. Or grab two solid guys, a player like Justin Masterson and Doug Fister along with Santana would even be great long-term.

Good Luck and nice job making it into the hunt!
