FANTASY BASEBALL BEAST ALERT

WAIVER WIRE TOM MURPHY

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

It is only once in a lifetime a catcher like Gary Sanchez appears in front of our eyes. A guy who can hit 35+ HR’s at the catcher position is as rare as it gets these days. While Sanchez is in a funk he still leads all catchers in HRs and is only two off the pace in RBIs, Sanchez has always been a Summer BEAST anyways.

With that being said, there is another catcher BEAST that is available in nearly all leagues. Only owned in 7% of CBS Leagues, the Rockies finally added Tom Murphy to their MLB Roster and it is time to add TOM MURPHY!

TOM MURPHY – COL – Catcher

Murphy has been a BEAST DOME favorite since I’ve laid eyes on him.

I even mentioned to grab him earlier this year, in the same breath I told everyone to pickup Brandon Crawford when he was ice cold and is now one of the top SS’s in Fantasy Baseball.

TOM MURPHY/BRANDON CRAWFORD WAIVER WIRE 2018

There is no reason Tom Murphy should sit on anybody’s Waiver Wire. If it was not for a broken hand during Spring Training 2017, Tom Murphy would have already been a house hold name. Murphy has been raking in the minors this season hitting 16 HRs in 49 games with a .289 batting average. Murphy goes from Albuquerque to the worlds best hitting ball park in Colorado.

Murphy has struggled in his short time in the Major Leagues, only being called up at the end of the season three times. However hitting 3 HRs in 2015 in 11 games, then 5 HRs in 23 games in 2016, I was excited to gear him up as a Draft Pick in 2017. Broken hand de-railed that, and now a full season recovered from the injury, I am ready to give Tom Murphy all the hype he deserves.

He is only 12 HRs behind Gary Sanchez for 1st Place in MLB. Do not be surprised if he finishes in the Top 5 at the position despite missing 2.5 months in the minors. Chris Iannetta is doing horrible and will only get a PT role because of the $11+ Million they owe to Iannetta in the next 3 years. With the Rockies in the Playoff Hunt, Tom Murphy is the future and the present at 27 Years Old. It is time they ride the guy who was supposed to have this job two years ago and he will ride you into the Playoffs.
