FANTASY BASEBALL BEAST ALERT: TAIJUAN SKYWALKER

FANTASY BASEBALL BEAST ALERT:

TAIJUAN SKYWALKER

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

Every season there is a pitcher that takes the Fantasy Baseball second half by storm.  Last season it was Sonny Gray, the season before that it was Chris Tillman.  A pitcher that comes out of nowhere (the minors) to perform like a Top 10 Pitcher as if he were Roy Halladay circa 2002.

This season, that pitcher is a young stud for the Mariners who has been battling arm inflamation all season long.  He is one of the bright young stars in the game who is finally healthy.  It is time to use the force and add Taijuan Walker.

TAIJUAN WALKER – SP – SEA

Stats 6/30: NO STATS (INJURED)

Here is my preseason analysis on MUNTRADAMUS.NET on Taijuan Walker.

Walker1

While the analysis leaves you a little skeptical since his arm inflamation ended up being a 3 month injury with a lot of rehab games inbetween.  Let us look at how good Taijuan was as a late season call up in 2013 once the Mariners were completely done.

Walker4

Still not sold?  Then trust my eye as I know talent when I see talent, and Taijuan Walker is the type of pitcher who will be a household name before the 2014 season is over.

In his last minor league start Taijuan Walker went 6 2/3 with 7 Strikeouts and 1 Hit allowed.  There is very good reason I was very high on him this preseason, and now is the time he should be owned in every league.

TAIJUAN WALKER IS MUST OWN TO WIN YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

There is a lot of good factors working for Taijuan this year.

1.  The Mariners have a legitimate shot at the playoffs.  If the season ended today, they are in.

2. The AL WEST is not the same offensive powerhouse it was in the past.  Angels are inconsistent, Texas is not the same, Houston is slowed down more often than not.

3.  Safeco Field.  Where Hitters come to die.  Look at obinson Cano since he has become a Mariner.  Cano will likely see less than 20 HRs this season for the first time since 2008.

4. His WHIP/Control.  Last season with a WHIP of 1.00, Taijuan was taking the Fantasy League by storm under the radar.  He knows how to get the strikeouts and throws a mean mid 90s fastball that has a lot of movement.  He also has a deadly sharp curveball that can lock the batters from ever swinging the bat.

Between the pitch control and the unhittable stuff.  Taijuan Walker is a player you want on your Fantasy Team for the entire second half of the season.

  1. My add/drop is every 3 weeks….and 6 weeks ago, someone dropped Walker… I finally struck lightning, thought like Muntradamus, and grabbed Tijuan last week on our every 3 week add/drop.

I just traded G. Richards for Meso since I needed a catcher, and it so GOOD to know that me having Walker will fill in for Richards nicely…now… if only JHAM, RZim, and Crush Davis can get their act together… 12th place in roto right now.. 4th place I make money. LETS GO BEAST DOME NATION!

I know with VIP coming up…I can catch up and win some money and respect and represent the BEAST DOME NATION!!! To VICTORY!!!!!!!

  3. If I need pitching help, would trading Robinson Cano be too much, not enough or fair for Walker? I already have Dee Gordon, Howie Kendrick and Matt Carpenter.

  4. imo…i would keep Cano.I learned my lesson on trading him. The dude is a stud. To answer your question, IMO… giving up Cano for Walker is too much. You can get an already proven stud pitcher for Cano…but again, this is coming from a guy who is in 12th place in a 15 team roto… so i would wait for Munt…

  5. I am planning on dominating this season for football yes Mr. Samurai…u have a strategy or two u have going in this seasons draft? I would like to hear some players and positions u are trying to target for certain rounds!

  6. I usually wait for the Beast Rankings to find out where I get the advantage and who to target early. I don’t like the RG3 article being a cowboy fan, but the reasoning makes sense and after last year he might slip a little. I might have to start RG3 bashing around the office to try to buy me a few more rounds. Being in Philadelphia Romo will be there for me in the later rounds.

  7. Hey Guys,

Was wondering, would me trading max scherzer for Cargo be a decent deal?
Im desperate for runs/avg/ops. My ks are amazing with felix and stras.

Thoughts? Am I aiming too low with Cargo at this point? Will he bounce back and have amazing 2nd half value?

  8. CarGo will be a 2nd Half Monster. The guy is a BEAST.

If you are looking for Runs/Average/OPS. Jacoby Ellsbury is a player I would target first. Go ahead and try to get Jacoby and another upgrade for ScherzDog and the Player you are trying to upgrade.

  9. I already have ellsbury :D. But thanks man I appreciate your advice. Sounds like im not taking the risk on Cargo.

Also cant wait for the Football VIP. Munt you the man keep it up.

  10. Keeping with the CarGo theme….. I can activate him tomorrow. For the DL spot I was going to claim Paxton. Wacha is also on the wire and could be claimed tomorrow. Still Paxton over Wacha ROS??
