Fantasy Football Strategy Special: I Sunk Your Battleship

Fantasy Football Strategy Special:

I Sunk Your Battleship

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

As you know, I want many of you all to win your championships.  I really, really do.  This week I am going to offer you a great strategy in how to beat your opponent if you are up against the ropes.

This could be used as a great PLAYOFF strategy to get a W, or even get a MUST-WIN game now.
Let us hypothetically say you are not getting the production you need out of your kicker consistently, or currently you need a BYE week replacement.

While I always recommend the QB/K Combo Strategy.

This is the second closest thing.
If the team you are playing against has a QB in a potential (NOT ELITE) game.  Which is going to be the case more often than not.  It is a good idea to start the KICKER that goes along with your opponents QB.

I.E.

OPPONENT:

JOSH FREEMAN
DOUG MARTIN
TRENT RICHARDSON
MILES AUSTIN
DWAYNE BOWE
LANCE KENDRICKS
SEBASTIAN JANIKOWSKI
RAIDERS D/ST

YOU:

TOM BRADY
MAURICE JONES-DREW
STEVEN JACKSON
DANNY AMENDOLA
AUSTIN COLLIE
DUSTIN KELLER
CONNOR BARTH
FALCONS D/ST

This way, you can possibly beat your opponent single handily if the QB fails to convert in the red zone.  IF Barth has to kick 4 FGs that week.  Chances are Freeman and Barth will be just about even in the Final Fantasy Box score, if not BARTH doing way better.

If you can beat your opponents QB with your KICKER.  Then you are well on your way to a W.

  1. That right there Folks is a Nugget!!! That is exactly why I have been reading this column all season and until now, a reluctant commenter.

I truly must say that when you drop jewels like the QB/Kicker strategy below it makes me want to kick you a portion of my winnings.

I have had one not to be named Atlanta running back on my roster all season because I can feel a break out about to happen. We all thank you for your Sage advice

  2. I have not this possibility this week, but I have G.Hartley as my kicker. My opponent has J.Graham and P.Thomas. Is that almost the same thing?

  3. This site is the best but it def. needs more bandwidth or more of a simple layout. It runs sooo slow. Love the content though!!

  4. If Matt Bryant is on the wire, and the opponent has Matt Ryan.

You should add Bryant anyways because he is usually a top 10 kicker every week regardless.

In this case, yes it does help the strategy.

  5. Almost. But not quite.

The point of this is to really eliminate your opponents QB.

If you can take out two of his big options that would be great. But if the Saints score TDs, then Hartley could see 7 Points, while the others break double digits destroying the kicker.

  6. I dropped NE kicker and picked up Matt Bryant because of bye weeks. Should I keep Bryant for the rest of the season?

  7. I currently have Shayne Graham has my kicker for Week 9. My opponent has Aaron Rodgers and Mason Crosby is currently a free agent in our league. Would you recommend starting Mason Crosby over Shayne Graham in this instance? My concern is that Aaron Rodgers almost always scores in the Red Zone, so Mason Crosby has very limited opportunities to kick FGs.
