BEAST DOME NATION.
Welcome to the First Trade Market of the Season. Starting next week I will start a BEAST DOME NATION: Basketball Journey Post for everyone to help each other with strategy throughout the week.
Of course enjoy these articles as together we all become strong to win a championship.
*NBA Players go through hot and cold streaks. The Stars rarely go cold.
Ginobili complaining about back problems this early in the season is a huge red light. We are not even into a month of the season and a 35 Year Old who is coming off the bench is already suffering back spasms. He also has already contemplated retirement before the season started.
Wait for Manu to get hot and start looking like the Vintage Manu we all know. It will happen eventually. Then trade him off instantly. Keep an eye as I will let you know if the downfall is coming.
The Kardashian Curse = When a player has a few good games to trick you into thinking he is the real deal.
Then falls into reality where he just ends up putting mediocre numbers. Reggie Bush falls into this category in football.
Last season Lady Humps was able to put up consistent 15+ Rebound games for the Nets. Brook Lopez was injured for a majority of the season, and Gerald Wallace was not on the team until the very end. When Wallace became a Net, Humphries numbers took a small hit. The entire start of the season, Humphries does not have a 10 Rebound game when Gerald Wallace is playing.
Once Wallace returns, Humphries can see those numbers disappear. Outside of getting rebounds, he scores around 10 Points and does nothing else. Trade him now while everyone overvalues him because of his fame.
Things are looking very bad for Ersan owners. As I predicted in my preseason Rankings. Time to trade Ilyasova the second he strings together a few 20 Point games. People would be willing to accept the fact he had a slow start to the season because sometimes it just happens.
In reality, the Bucs offense has changed drastically since Monta Ellis joined the team. Ilyasova took a small decline as his shot attempts moved towards Ellis’ basement.
This season Larry Sanders looks like a player the Bucs want to use more, and they have plenty of defensive minded big lanky men in Luc Richard, and Samuel Dalembert. This is not going to be a good for the Sova Nation.
Evans has not been a 1st round type of player since Marcus Thornton was not wearing a Kings uniform. Those two never complimented each other’s game which has caused both of them to be very “hit or miss” players from a night-t0-night basis. Things did not get much easier for Evans when DeMarcus Cousins decided he wanted to be a superstar. Evans does not have a real position on this Kings team, and he would be much better suited in an O.J. Mayo type of situation on a weak team that needs a scorer.
Trade Evans the second he gets hot, because he will. That will be your last chance.
While it is great to see Crawford averaging 20 Points a game like it’s nothing. The magic will come to an end when Chauncey Billups returns to action.
Right now Crawford is taking a lot of shot attempts, and while it is working now. One cold streak and the Clippers will not be afraid to use him 25 Minutes a game where he can only average 13 Points, as opposed to 20. Trade him now this is your time.
Never thought I would be saying Blake is a Buy-Low option after one week. But that is the case as Blake looks to prove his FT% is not as bad as it seemed last season. So why is he a Buy Low candidate?
Right now he is avearging only 16 Points a game with less than 10 Rebounds. That is going to change in a hurry, as this Clippers offense is going to be nothing but the Blake Griffin/CP3 show when they find their groove. Clippers have a nice team, but Blake is their star. He will start scoring like one very soon. He could average 25 Points a game. Things will get better when Billups returns from injury as well.
With Andrew Bogut out until Janurary. David Lee turns into a 1st round value player. The Warriors are thin down-low, and they are not afraid to put the ball in Mr. D-Lee’s hands nearly every possession. Last season when the Warriors were thin at the big man spot, Lee was putting up 20+ Points and 10+ Rebounds like Karl Malone. The same could happen this time around too. Trade for him.
The Suns want Beasley to be their superstar. But Beasley is just not living up to the bill right now.
The Suns star is still shooting the ball like the go-to-guy, but he is getting in foul trouble early. On top of that he is shooting 35.1% from the field. It is safe to say Beasley has hit a season low as far as shooting goes. It will only go up from here.
Josh Smith may kill you in FG% leagues, but he is so valuable in other leagues that you have to have him to make a serious championship run.
There are few players in todays NBA games that get steals/blocks/rebounds/assists like Josh Smith. He is the very poor mans version of LeBron James, but to be put in that same category is something else. Lamar Odom used to be the Homeless version of LeBron, and Josh Smith is a big step up.
Right now he is shooting 39.4% from FG range, and 36.8% from the FT line. Those numbers will improve, you can maybe get him for less than 2nd round value. Which is a steal when it is all said and done.
